Great place to bring visiting friends and family because for one, it’s local. For two, they brew their own beer and it’s very tasty! You must try the bison burger!

Service — If you want to be ignored and wait an hour for not only your food but one margarita you ordered way before your food, go here. Food — so incredibly mediocre, not worth the price. Spinach dip was so over garlicky it physically hurt to eat. «Steamed» Broccoli was raw. Fish had zero seasoning and was so bland. Gritz also very very bland. Wings were cold upon arrival. Cold wings just aren’t good. I can make a much tastier meal for much less. Athens has so many good restaurants and this is not one of them.

I like this place and think of it as a kind of the Steak and Shake of sit down eating: it’s good for people who want to have a sit down meal and feel like they’re doing something«nice» but also want something inexpensive. I’ve eaten here several times and had great experiences each time. **You can get a flight of 4 beers to taste for $ 3.50, so if you aren’t sure what you want, go for that.** For some reason they don’t advertise their flights and I only began to order them when I noticed someone at the bar ordering one. FYI — my favorite beer is their blonde lager. It’s honestly a great light beer and is what Budweiser would taste like if Budweiser were actually a good beer. Regarding food, I’ve had several menu items and the standouts are their burger, the southern fried chicken breast, the buffalo chicken tacos, and the Belgian dip sandwich. All the food is good with generous portions, but the best tasting item I’ve had there is the Belgian dip. It’s just SO good and filling as well. I give this place 4 stars because even though the food tastes good, you can tell it the ingredients all come from Sysco and Sam’s Club, plus lots of the food is deep fried and slightly trashy. It’s just not that special. I mean come on — buffalo chicken tacos? Those are just deep fried chicken tenders, cut into small pieces with some hot sauce and blue cheese on a tortilla. Yes, they taste good but you could make all of this food at home, with little thought. That said, I don’t think that Copper Creek is trying to be the biggest loudest best game in town. It’s a place that doesn’t try very hard, but that’s because it doesn’t need to. They get plenty of business from university kids and their families who don’t know any different and really, there’s nothing wrong with that.

Had the pulled pork sandwich with cheese fries. My brother had the fried chicken. Both were very good!

This is for beer only. Clean, friendly and with reasonable prices. I tried all their beers an wasn’t wowed by any of them, but wasn’t offended by any either. You could do a lot worse in Athens.

Had been wanting to try this place but wasn’t sure about bringing our 4 yr. old here. We gave it a shot & it worked out just fine! We sat in a booth away from the bar. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my husband the fried fish. Both dishes were great and far better than you would expect for bar food. I like dark beers and was not disappointed by their espresso stout. Strong flavor but a smooth finish. My husband had the IPA and enjoyed it as well. We both tried the Marzic(?) and really enjoyed that! I’d say both were better than some other local brewers. Personally, I like a place with a simple menu and beer selection as I feel that allows for specialization. Our server was nice but slow on getting silverware and bringing the check or I’d give it a 5.

I remember the days when Copper Creek actually brewed beers you’d want to drink. I don’t know if a head brewer either left or hit his head so hard one night all the recipes bolted from his head, but there’s a noticeable difference in quality and taste these days. There was once a decently high quality to most of their beer styles, so high that they’d run out of it within a weeks time. Now… the quality is pretty piss poor, and it’s not uncommon to see the same shitty beer on the taps for weeks on end. I’m all about drinking local. But with Creature Comforts and Terrapin out there as local options I’ll stick with drinking them and leave Copper Creek’s bush league beers to the rest.

Good spot to stop in for a beer or a bite to eat. Menu is limited but good. Their speciality beers were quite tasty. Not a place for an intimate date or long talks due to the noise level. Friendly staff. The hanging pots and pennies covering the bar are fun décor keeping the copper theme. I’d go again.

Cozy little brewery with good service and interesting décor. The lil salad was very good with the poblano vinaigrette. The Eggrolls were good just wish there was more filling and less wrap. Not too busy considering there was a home game(they have two flat screens).

The house made beer is only $ 3.50 which is pretty affordable for craft beer. I got the Irish stout and it was very smooth and not too bitter. I wasnt very impressed by the atmosphere because it reminds me of a Mexican restaurant.

Small dark and cozy. Popped in for a beer and a snack. First impression is that it smelled like a pet store(because of the hops). Was seated quickly by a very friendly waitress. I ordered the Irish Stout– delicious! Hubs ordered the IPA– he said… meh…not hoppy enough and a little too sweet for his taste. For snacks we ordered the Roasted Poblano Hummus which was absolutely fantastic and the Mozzarella Sticks– the sticks were what you’d expect but the marinara sauce was really great. Full of fresh tomato flavor and not overly sweet. Glad we stopped in but wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

YUMMYASSBISONBURGERWITHBLEUCHEESE!!! Get into it! It’s so good. Now that I’m 21 I want to go back and try their wings special. I think they’re 50 cents each. I went there twice in a week and tried a lamb burger and bison burger. Both delicious. The only drawback is the WAIT. It’s obnoxiously long when I went. I tried the beer on a food tour and it was good. We also had some small appetizers and sandwiches. They were so delicious!!!

Wow, what a cool experience! If I had decided to only visit based on the previous reviews we wouldn’t have come but I’m so glad we did! The beer is phenomenal. I had the English Mild and my wife had the Kölsch. They both were amazing and so much better than most brewpubs! The bison burger was perfect and the grits are awesome. My wife had the nachos and said they were a bit dry, but definitely good. We’ll be back for sure!!!

I like Copper Creek a lot more in theory than in actuality. It always seems like the perfect place to start a night away from the craziness of Clayton St. or Broad St., but I’m always a little disappointed. Their food is fairly good, table service isn’t great and their beer is middle of the road. Two friends and I walked in around 8:30 on a Saturday night. There was only one table to be sat before us. As tables cleared out and we weren’t seated, we grew hungrier and hungrier. About 30 minutes later we finally sat down, immediately ordered some Copper Creek IPAs and started scanning the menu. I’ve always thought their beer is okay. It’s nothing to write home about, but it is nice to have a small brewery in the middle of downtown. I was going to order the portobello mushroom sandwich with pesto and gouda cheese, but they were out of it so I made a snap decision to get the bison burger. It came with cheese and lettuce. After everyone at the table tasted it, we all agreed it was tasty but desperately needed a tomato or condiment. There aren’t condiments on the table and when my food arrived, the waitress told me she lost my ketchup on the way to the table, but she never brought me a new one. One friend ordered a salad which was pretty good except for the rock hard pita chips it was served with. My other friend got a turkey sandwich that was very filling. Our waitress wasn’t around for most of our meal. We didn’t end up leaving until about 11 pm because seating, ordering and paying took so long. It isn’t that large of a restaurant so I think they could step up their service a little. I would recommend sitting at the bar if you are in more of a hurry.

Really delicious beer! Isn’t that what you expect from a brew pub? Copper Creek certainly delivered on that. And since Anthens is a college town, they have outstanding prices on their beer regularly and wonderful specials. The Bi-Polar IPA was stellar!!! I also sampled their Nut Brown which was really good, too. I ordered their shrimp & grits with spicy tomato sauce and andouille sausage. It was really good and I had plenty of leftovers because those stone ground grits were pretty filling. Hubby ordered a burger that he said was really good, too. Nice selection of bar food items on the menu. The bar has a great atmosphere and there was even some highly involved intellectual discussion with our bartender, Eleanor — she’s a math major like my hubby was, so they had a fun chat(fun for them, anyway!) Did I mention they have really terrific beer?

The beer really is outstanding. And cheap. And on Tuesday it’s $ 2 pint nights. What could be better. The bi-polar pale ale was flat out spectacular. The nut brown was less so but we just tasted that. I love my IPA’s and the bi-polar is amazing. Highly recommended. The food is average or maybe even slightly below average. The burger I had(with melted Gouda cheese which is an unusual offering!) was bland and lackluster even though it was cooked perfectly medium like I asked. It just didn’t taste like anything. My wife’s shrimp and grits was good, not great. But extra credit for having the tails off the shrimp! Come for the beer. Stay for the beer. Eat elsewhere. Come thirsty.

Came here on a late Friday afternoon to get some beers and dinner and wasn’t disappointed. This place brews their own beer and they offer four different types of their home brewed beer on tap. I had an American Pale Ale that was excellent. I would have liked a little more choice in draft beers, but appreciated the high quality of what I was offered. I was looking for the espresso stout that others recommend here, but when I went in May it was not on their list. You can’t beat the $ 3 price for their draft beers. The best part of my experience was the excellent service from a very friendly and attentive bartender. She made you feel comfortable and right at home even though I had never been here before. There were no problems in getting orders taken or drinks refilled when I needed them. I had their kettle chips to start, which seemed home made and were a good salty companion to the beers. For dinner I tried their bison burger, which was a nice alternative to a beef burger and was fairly tasty but a little plain. It came with a choice of cheeses, and I chose Gouda. They had a nice cheese selection for the burgers. The best part, though, was the excellent wilted spinach that I tried as a healthier alternative to fries. I recommend that side dish highly – you’ll like it even if you are not a spinach fan. The portion was a little on the small side.

Stopped fairly early on a Saturday evening, before six. Not crowded at all. Rather dead, in fact. I imagine it picked up later as it was a brilliant day in Athens and there were lots of people out and about. Nice space with good booths and decent bar seating. I chose a booth. This is a brewpub — the reason I selected it. So, I tried two of their own beers: the Kolsch and the steam. Both pretty good, possibly because they are similar. Light, neither malty nor hoppy. The menu is rather limited, even in terms of bar food. But there are enough choices for my taste. Bison burger very good — nice toasted bun, tasty meat. Two small pickle slices are kinda chintzy, but the mustard I requested made up for that. Instead of fries, I ordered the wilted spinach. Nice. I put some on the burger. Excellent service.
