Guadio’s in an oldie but a goodie, especially if you like New York neighborhood style pizza. The crust is typically medium in thickness and crispy – they way I like it. I’ve enjoyed meatball(homemade) and other parmigiana sandwiches. I can’t speak to whether the chicken cutlets are fresh or frozen but the end result is as my munchkin used to say yummylicious.

This is certainly one of the best Italian restaurant in the area — that have all the best selections. The sitting area is a bit limited but most of their orders seem to be deliveries. The best part was the right blend of sauce to food since often times restaurants add too much sauce and everything becomes messy. This place is perfect for a quick bite and very filling.

I ordered a large pie over an hour ago(9:50PM) and it still hasn’t been delivered. I’ve called 10 times and no answer. They close at 11 so I’m sure they’re not going to be delivering my pizza. The guy was very rude taking my order. I should have cancelled.

Meh. I do like the pizza here and when I want pizza this is where I go but to me it’s the same as every other NYC pizzeria. The dough is buttery. Rizzo’s down the street is a very different kind of pizza which makes it unique but I almost always order Gaudio’s over Rizzo’s. No delivery if you pay by credit card. Lame

Worst pizza in Astoria! Let me start first with the phone delivery service, I called one day to order a pie and got the rudest person that didn’t let me even finish talking that I had to hang up on him. Another day I walked in at around 7pmon a Wednesday night and the place was empty inside with the owner and some fat guy who looks like a regular just conversing and he didn’t even greet me as I walked in. Now let me get to the pizza, I brought home 3 slices and an order of garlic knots and it was horrible. The pizza tasted like it has been there since noon and the garlic knots were soggy and the garlic on it tasted old. I have came here before maybe a year back from these situations and did get bad service that I thought it was probably just a bad night but no this is what it is here.

Incredibly disappointing. Ordered some take out for a family lunch– penne a la vodka, chicken francese with spaghetti, a shrimp parm hero, and a side of spinach sauté. There was not enough sauce on either the penne or the chicken, AND the shrimp parm hero, MYSHRIMPPARMHERO– came unmade and in a tin with a side loaf of bread. If they had sent me an order of shrimp parm, then I would have been entitled to another side dish, which I had not received. So I was either over charged, or my order was made lazily and incomplete. I do not plan on returning.

NBeen here half a dozen times and if you want excellent real New York pizza by the slice this is the place. Sweet sauce, real cheese and fairly priced. Never had any of the food items so I can’t comment about them. Has a fairly good sized dining room to sit down in.

I was never impressed when walking by this place but since Front Towards Enemy was closed for renovation and Queens Comfort was closed for the evening my family wanted to give it a try. Service was friendly in accommodating a wheelchair(something the Neptune Diner was unable to do I might add!) We were seated quickly. Service was very nice and attentive without being pushy. We started with a fried calamari appetizer — which was good enough. Definitely felt generic. My dad and I each had the Rigatoni margarita special which was excellent. Fresh mozzarella over rigatoni with some basil. Looked good, smelled good, tasted better! By no means the best food in Astoria or my favorite Italian restaurant but they get huge points for accommodating us and supplying a great meal!

Today we celebrated my Bella’s birthday, and of course her first choice in selecting a restaurant was Gaudio’s, of course. Great for family dining, very kid friendly. Our server surprised us with a White Chocolate Tartufo birthday cake! What a delicious and very thoughtful surprise! Thank you, Gaudio’s, for always delivering the best food and service to your patrons. We will continue to support your business for years to come.

After having so much good pizza in Jersey and Chicago, it’s tough to say a whole lot is amazing here. I had a chicken roll and a white slice, and they were both good, but nothing incredibly special. I’ll try a dish or two next chance I get and update the review, but if you’re looking for pizza, it definitely hits the spot, but if you’re looking for the best, head towards Manhattan.

Finally decided to try this place after living here for years, bad decision. Called to place a simple order(they’re not on ), small cheese pizza and chicken parm sandwich, both flavorless and chewy. The part that really annoyed me was the short and rude unexplainable attitude from the guy on the phone. After my husband hung with him and told me, I wanted to call back immediately and cancel but he wanted to give it a shot anyway. Honestly, there are so many other great places in this neighborhood, try Ginos or Politos!

First, let me say that I have gotten the Sicilian Pizza here a couple times before and it is absolutely delicious. This was put on our list of go-to places. However, the last experience has really changed our minds; just because you have great food doesn’t give you the right to treat customers like crud. We were coming home from an event last Saturday and we were hungry. We decided to call here and order a pizza, but at the time, didn’t know when they closed. It was 10:45 when we called and the guy who answered the phone said, «No problem, can you be here in ten minutes.» My thought was, that’s odd, it takes at least 20 to make a Sicilian, but maybe they had one sitting out that was untouched. I said yes and showed up 10 minutes later(I live over a half-mile away). It was 10:55 and the doors were locked. The guy was inside cleaning up and we made gestures and said that we called and we were here for the pizza. His response each time was to shake his head and laugh. We saw the pizza there and he picked it up, folded it in half, looked right at us smirking, walked towards the kitchen and threw it in the trash. Like I said earlier, we didn’t know it was closing time, but he could have said it was too late and not accepted the order. Then to tease us and laugh at us as he threw it out? That is pathetic. Not to mention the doors were locked before 11:00. Luckily I found a kitchen that was still open on my walk back home. I’m pretty sure the guy was on the low-end of the staff, but he, at that time, was the face of the restaurant – a face I really don’t want to deal with again. Two attempts to talk to an owner/manager this week were not successful.

We chose Gaudio’s to cater the grand opening and holiday party for our newest location of Highline Residential in Astoria. Nick hit it out of the park, the food was excellent and really generous portions. We served over 100 guests a delicious salad with mozzarella balls, baked clams, chicken parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, penne a la vodka with peas, spaghetti with meatballs, garlic knots and two pizzas. The chicken parm was gone in about 5 minutes. So many people went back for seconds. They sent extra sauce for all the dishes, lots of bread, butter and Parmesan cheese. Thanks, Nick, for helping us have such a terrific event!

This is one of my favorite pizza places. What makes it especially awesome is the owner, Nick. He truly cares for his patrons and takes pride in the food he serves. Not only is the pizza delicious the menu items are great too. Love the eggplant parmigiana. This has become my favorite go to resturant in the area.

Average pizza in a newly built but pooringly designed pizza/eatery. Atmosphere 75 Counter and a row of table in the bacl Service 70 Forget about it Food 75 Very average Value 75 About par for the course Astoria is full of excellent places to eat. Wanting Italian narrows the field, but there are better venues available. The upside is that Guadio is in a newly constructed building if that means anything.

Me and my friend walked around Astoria randomly looking for a place to eat. Big mistake we should’ve Unilocaled out the area. The guy at the front… the owner maybe… needs a serious lesson in basic customer service. Had a dour attitude. We order our pizza and sit in the back waiting for what seemed like an eternity. That would be all fine and dandy if the pizza was great. But… hands down the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Even worse than my own attempt at making pizza! It was very greasy. The dough was all mushy, the toppings all fell off. Enough said.

Really people? This place has apparently been there for 60 years, and the former owner was a neighborhood treasure, but I don’t get how anyone living in NYC and having grown up with the quality of pizza we have on every street corner here could think this is anything more than crap. A call to Gaudio’s begins with the d-bag attitude of the«owner», who’s disposition in taking your order is about as considerate as the consideration he will give your pie. The pie itself is flavorless, with a doughy, mushy crust that is way too thick and under cooked. They skimp on their cheap, over processed cheese and bake it as quickly as possible. On a good note you get this garbage pretty quickly, seemingly because they are trying to push as much of this junk out the door as they can. As well, their delivery man was pleasant and endearing. It’s a shame he has to work for a old school d-bag who should recognize Astoria has changed and his service and quality needs to step up. If you like Domino’s and Papa John’s, I’m sure you will be thrilled with paying $ 17 dollars for the pleasure of eating this putzi. Otherwise, maybe you should look around, do some Unilocaling, and recognize your money deserves better than this in the greatest pizza city in the country.

Gaudio’s looked like a regular pizza joint when we entered, but in the back were about 7 tables suitable for a nice sit-down meal. We ordered Italian salad, which was large enough for the 5 of us, and it included lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, green & black olives, pimentos, provolone, and a house Italian. We also had fried calamari, which was crispy, as ordered, but it seemed like the calamari came from the freezer and then fried. The marinara accompaniment was ok. We’ve had much better but this was passable. Entrees included veal parmesan, chicken parm, veal cutlet parmigiana a la Gaudio’s with ham, chicken marsala, and a seafood combination that had lots of garlic and large pieces of shrimp and other seafood. We also ordered a side of meatballs. Eh. Mine are better. Everyone enjoyed his/her meal. Three stars. Bread was warm with good crust and soft middle. Four stars. The bill for the five of us was very low $ 100, so very reasonable. Will likely return when we’re in the area again. Service was very good. Four stars. The pizza selection looked great, so maybe next time.
