This is a nice sports bar. Somewhat has a lounge feel to it. I haven’t eaten here but have come for a few drinks. Nothing special. A couple weeks ago the waitress gave me someone else’s check that was 3x higher than mine. Good thing I wasn’t very drunk and realized because If I was I probably would have over paid like an idiot lol. Overall pretty good bar for the area.

I like this place a lot, and it’s probably the best bar in the area that my friends and I have identified so far to watch sports games. The staff is really receptive to changing the channel to whatever game you want to watch, if it isn’t already on, and because there are SO many TVs, it’s possible to keep tabs on several games at once. I’ve never eaten the food here, but my friends say it’s pretty decent for bar food. More importantly, the beer selection is good and reasonable. I’ve found the service to be quick(if not a little overbearing at times, but it depends on the day) and effective. They’re really cool about splitting checks, which I appreciate! The crowd is often eclectic, which can make for a weird vibe at times, but it’s never too noisy or overcrowded. Overall: super solid sports bar. I’m here a lot and it’s a regular in our rotation for a reason!

1÷19÷16PM. Bartender: Bubbles? Name on receipt. Got 2 stars only because food was decent. Drinks and service sucked. Drink tasted like water. Bartender never checked to see how my food was once. Had to get up twice for condiments. Had to get the check from bar back. Had to wave down bartender for receipt. Wasn’t very busy btw. Sure came around to see tip I left after I signed though.

Jen the bartender was nice. The bathroom was clean. The food was good. I didn’t like how they switched the music on & off during a basketball game…

They have at least 58 tvs in here which instantly makes it one of the better sports bars in Queens. I was here Sat for the playoffs and I don’t know what kinda experience others have had but i’m a very simple man when it comes to sports. As long as they have the game in crystal clear HD(none of this using a projector at massive quality loss), I’m happy. It has a great location being next to the train and i thought the service was pretty good considering the crowd. The food was decent but lets be serious you don’t go to sports bars to eat. You go to watch the game, drink and talk trash with friends. As a plus they have bottled red stripe for 5 $…which puts this on a higher level than most bars period. That said can’t give it a 5 since it’s not the best sports bar i’ve ever been to, but it’s pretty close… you should check it out

I have never left a review before but I had such a horrible experience with this place that I am compelled to. Not only was their service horrible but they are liars and break basic health codes by having a dog in their establishment. First I want to comment on the lack of professionalism this Harry P guy has in response to other comments. This business will never survive with such disrespectful people and I can see why everyone in that place is just as rude and just as much liars as the owner/manager. So please save your lies and don’t even comment. I happened to go in to this place after leaving a wonderful place around there(Bonnie’s). My boyfriend wanted to go in and see the place especially bc there was an NBA game. We went in there and sat at a table. We sat there for about 10 minutes before we got tired of waiting and my boyfriend went to the bar to get us drinks. You would think that one of the waitresses coming up to the tables right and left to us would even make eye contact with us. No. My boyfriend finally got us our drinks after standing around for 10 more minutes. We ordered BASIC drinks: mojitos. If you have the ingredients for a mojito you would expect that they know how to do it. No it was basically club soda with 2 small mint leaves floating on it. Fine we said maybe they don’t know how to make this cocktail bc they’re a sports bar. So I exchanged my drink for a whiskey sour(my boyfriend was nice enough to keep his disgusting mojito to save face). Is a whisky sour not a BASIC drink that a bartender should know how to make? Disgusting as well. By that point I was infuriated by the horrible service and drinks. I refused to drink those disgusting things and I had already given them another opportunity to make me a drink. I FINALLY was able to get a waitresses attention and told her about it. She told me if she could get me another drink. No. How many things do I have to order to finally be able to get something drinkable? No. I told her I wanted my money back because I had not touched the drinks and we refused to drink it. She said if that was the case she would get me the owner. Great I thought. They could clearly see that something was wrong here. No. Another woman came over which I initially thought was the owner as that’s what the waitress said. She came over I told her yet again what happened and she told me she was the manager and would see what the owner said. Why lie that I would have the courtesy to speak to the owner and send some random person so I could waste my breath telling her my horrible experience again. She then came back and told me that I could either get a drink or leave and that I would not be able to get my money back. What a joke. I wish they would actually bring themselves to try what they put out. At that point I left very disappointed. I had such a great night ruined by this lame spot. Not only did they have terrible drinks(thank God I didn’t try the food!) and terrible service but unethical practices. Don’t waste your time going – multiple bad reviews means something!

Sweet Spot… Touché! And what a Sweet Spot it is. I’m not a keen New Yorker, nor do I visit as often as I should, but this spot is definitely a hidden pearl in a clamshell. It sits in an eclectic part of Astoria where if you blink, or get caught up looking left you may miss it. When I walked in the Little Mermaid song“Ahhhhuhhhhh” went off in my head. Its a mini haven in this joint. But not mini. Its HUGE! The absolute perfect place for games, birthdays, dinners or just getting together with a group of friends for a night out on the town. There are 3 huge separate areas to choose from depending on what you are feeling. The staff is smoking hot!(No rainbow) Very friendly and sociable. Food Rundown: Chicken Ceasar Salad– A++(Im just a fan of caesar salads in general) Boneless Buffalo Bites Thai Chili Sauce: A Sweet Potato Tots– A+(Who even knew these existed? Its like small bursts of joy in your mouth each bite) I sipped on moscow mules during my stay and the bartender made them just right… In fact too right! I couldn’t stop sipping on it lol. Note: We did come for the UFC fight. My suggestion is to get there early for big events or make reservations. Although the place is really big, it fills up very very fast.

Why is it always a problem when I come here?! By the way I am standing at the bar writing this and I’m in shock Firstly, the bartender named Andrea is telling me I can’t sit or stand at the bar. It’s empty. Great I still do order a cosmo, and it’s very good. However the whole time she is rude. I ask her for water and she walks away. I ask the other bartender, she looks me in the eye and walks away. Wow really?! So as I’m standing there yelling excuse me, Andrea walks back and says«REALLYWHATDOYOUWANT» wow nice way to talk to a customer and fellow bartender! All I wanted was water. I asked her for her name and she said«why do you know me?» Screw this place. The service is worse than horrible. I usually tend to understand if it’s busy and they are stressed, we all have our days. But no. *** I got a comment from I’m assuming a manager names Harry P, saying there is no bartender named Andrea — so thats great because your bartenders are giving me the wrong name when I ask them? Or are you trying to protect their name in your establishment?! I asked her name and I was told Andrea, not my fault if I got a fake name but she was working Weds Oct 28 around 7 Pm. Tall, long black straight hair if that helps you sir Harry. *Update Dec 5, 2015 — I received a text from a former employee, the bartenders name is Danielle. Goes to show the quality of customer service when a bartender purposely gives you a false name. Disgusting standards there.

Just like the other reviews… the service at this place is absolutely horrendous and has no place staying in business(especially in Astoria where businesses pride themselves on being part of a great community and respectful). It’s sad. because it COULD be a great sports bar and place to watch sports… but its not. The bar food is average at best… you don’t go here for the food. I know the manager is going to comment on this… just the other bad reviews stating the same thing… but he needs to learn that this isn’t how you treat customers… they won’t come back and word will get out that you’re a scumbag. Here’s our story. Started out with 3 of us sitting at a 4 top table for the 1pm Sunday football games. Place was empty for the 1pm games. We had 3 different waitress’s during this time and had to ask for beers/service several times. We had some wings and a few beers and got the check around the 3rd qtr because we had 2 other friends joining for the giants game… bill was approx $ 70. So far… experience isnt too bad… but not good. We continue on for the giants game. Around half time… we have another new waitress… and she comes over and says you guys need to order more drinks. We say no problem… maybe if came over more than often than 20 mins at time… we would! I mean. we went through 2 – 3 beers each and some food during the 1st half. At the end of the 3rd qtr… the manager comes with the check! Unprompted! Unfreaking prompted. And says sorry guys… you weren’t ordering drinks and we have reservations. Reservations? What? Someone made a reservation for the 4th qtr of the Giants game? And the sunday night game didn’t start for another hour and a half. What a scumbag move… our table was completely shocked. They were booting us off the table… after spending $ 250+. Our 2nd bill came to $ 180…about $ 37/person for 3 qtrs. I’m honestly still shocked from the way we were treated. Again…I know the manager is going to comment… but you’re in the wrong buddy. There’s no excuses. It’s obviously a common theme at this place that the customer service sucks. as there are numerous other bad reviews It’s too bad… it has potential and could be an enjoyable experience. BOTTOMLINE… STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE… THERES of PLENTYOFOTHERSPORTSBARSINASTORIA where you’ll be treated like you should be. BTW.you’re beer list is soft and you were out of alot of them.

Came here on a Sunday to watch the Giants game with my boyfriend and good friend. I’m shocked. Usually when I come here the service is sub-par and you need the patience of a saint when it comes to ordering and receiving food. Not this time. There was one waitress for the entire back area. Imagine 50+ roudy football fans in one dining area and she did an amazing job keeping our small corner table in check. Drinks and food came out prompt(the app sampler and the nacho were both pretty good). If you come here for a game, I always recommend getting there about 40 – 45 minutes early, but that’s for any sports bar.

It’s a cool spot to watch and eat wings and drink beer… but beware if you don’t come on off day the prices are like clubs prices for drinks. Beer lovers I suggest to buy pitchers to save a couple of bucks. The music very trendy but also throw the old school hip hop. They have a lot of tvs but if the new yorks teams are playing I suggest you get there earlier cause it gets packed. Food is good and staff is very nice

First off, Unilocal hours are wrong. They close at 4a on Saturdays. I spent the past weekend in NYC visiting a friend studying at Fordham. We took the 7 train from his place to Astoria. Sweet Spot is literally right by the subway. We were looking for some late night grub and stumbled upon this place. At the time, they were showing the UFC fight. Lucky for us, there was not a cover. This is your typical restaurant bar setup — dim lights, lots of TVs, bar food — tacos/sandwiches/wings/fries. My friend and I shared the Guinness brats with their skinny fries. Other entrees ordered were 3 skirt steak tacos, and the spinach artichoke dip. The food was all decent, nothing particularly stood out to me. The spinach artichoke dip needed a little bit more seasoning and the skirt steak was flavorful and juicy. The food is also reasonably priced — roughly $ 10 for each entrée. Sad to see that they only have beer towers of Bud Light. Given that I am not a local, I’m not sure if I would make a return visit the next time in the city. But if you live in the area, this seems like a good spot to drink, watch sports, and hangout on the weekend. Did I mention their kitchen doesn’t close until 1?! PS — They are big fans of Drake. In fact, for the hour we were there, they played nothing but Drake.

The name surely suits the place. Came here on a Sunday to watch football with friends and it’s live in here! Luckily my friends were already there with a table because the place was packed. People were standing, sitting, walking around, but it wasn’t overwhelming. It’s very spacious. I loved the décor! Very trendy, both upstairs and downstairs. There were TV’s everywhere and the DJ played music during every commercial break. Shout out to Heather who was our server. She was very accommodating, pleasant, and fun. We didn’t order any food but our cups were never empty. We had a great time. I would definitely revisit. You can come here for a date or with a group of friends. It surely is a Sweet Spot!

It’s a great neighborhood bar located right by the N or Q train. They have set it up as a sports bar/Lounge. Their music selection is eclectic which leaves everyone happy. My first Sunday football here we’ve learnt to call and make reservations beforehand other wise the wait can and probably will drive you crazy. It’s a good positive crowd. My boyfriend and I have a good time every time we are here. The menu has your typical bar food plus other entrees and selections. The staff is welcoming and on top of everything. Typically sports bars are not known for their wines or drinks list. I’m typically a wine and champagne drinker and yet to have a bad glass of either. Every bar has an off night. we’re yet to have one here. However if there is a sporting event happening and you’re not a fan I suggest elsewhere in astoria Because you will feel bombarded by all the sport fans. Enjoy.

Pretty cool spot!!! After a night out dancing and listening to loud music, I wanted to grab a drink. Heard of this place from several people and figured I’d try it last night. UFC fighting was going on so the place was busy. Every table was occupied. Even the bar was packed. However after waiting a few mins, I was able to sit at the bar. You know the usual, hey is there someone sitting here?! Haha. The ambiance was cool. The décor was modern, I like. So I ordered a jack and coca cola. Great mix. The bartender wasn’t skimpy with the jack. Awesomeness. All the tvs in the place were tuned into the UFC fights. Not a problem. I was actually interested. Mind you it was my first time watching one of the fights. I enjoyed my night at the Sweet Spot. Fyi. .. the place empties after 1am. Its best to have the next stop lined up. Definitely coming back.

Well, I won’t disagree with the name, this bar is a pretty sweet spot. It’s a sports bar lined with flat screen TVs where multiple games are displayed. It can get a bit loud even on a Thursday, but chances are if you’re going to a bar to watch a game, you could have predicted the ambiance of this spot. As for the food, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with curly fries and was happy with the portions and flavoring. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it was good. The service is my only real gripe with this establishment(making it 3⁄5 instead of 4⁄5). It took us forever to pay the check and get out of there. Add on the fact that we never got a refill on water and it really pulls down my experience here.

My review is merely based on drinks and music. I was just walking by on my way to Artichoke pizzeria when my boyfriend heard the music and we decided to go in to have a drink. Great drinks! Great music! They were playing old school hip hop. The place is absolutely beautiful. Is was pretty empty but to be fair, it was a late Monday night. Would definitely consider returning.

I have been to sweet spot a few times over the past year or so on late nights with groups of people for drinks and always enjoyed myself but had never tried the food so I wanted to come check it out and leave an honest review. My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner and drinks on Cinco De Mayo. They were having some great specials, I can’t remember which drink specials were advertised because I was set on my beer but they had $ 7.50 deals for any three tacos, nachos or quesadilla. We shared the chicken nachos and they were some of the best nachos I have had! Now nachos aren’t really hard to do. yet somehow a ton of places still disappoint me. The placement and proportion matters most. You don’t want to end up with a bunch of soggy chips that have no toppings because the placement was all off– not a problem here! 5 star nachos! No extra charge for guacamole like some places like to throw at you either. I chose the shrimp tacos for my entrée and the boyfriend went with chicken tacos. I enjoyed my shrimp tacos very much, and loved the green sauce they served on the side. My boyfriend enjoyed his, he doesn’t like guacamole, and didnt like the taste of the sauce, so his only wish was that they had a bit more flavor — but a little sour cream probably could have done the job for him. Towards the end of the evening, a rep from Budweiser was coming around giving out free pints of Shocktop. I actually never tried it before and it was YUM. He also gave us a free shirt so that was pretty cool. The place itself is absolutely gorgeous. TV’s all around for your sports, good music for those not into it. Beautiful private room downstairs. The only disappointment would be that the waitress was a little less than available. She was friendly, just not around as often as I would have liked.

Saturday night– UFC fight night. Pretty good bar– very very large space. Main level has large flat screens everywhere. Main bar well lit with lots of beer on tap. Seating to accommodate large groups(U shape tables) and 2 – 4 person tables. Back and up small ramp there’s an extension of main room or could be a private party room. Bathrooms –down the blue lit steps– nice though I could do without the bathroom attendant. Another private room downstairs. After the fight– music… Going old SKOOL right now… Not sure if Astoria is ready for it, but they’re hanging so far… Would come back– will come back. Apps– had steak quesadilla … Not bad. Really light and small in size. And the fries were yummy and OD on salt. Great end to a night. Street parking and subway close by. Don’t drink and drive!!!
