I’ve been here a few times. I like genuine divey but this place gets old pretty quick. it’s pretentious in a «I’m not pretentious» kind of way. ok people. no food. There are better local spots around town

A fun bar with nice bartenders and multiple darts boards. They did a canned food drive with Astoria Social and it was a huge hit. A nice place to watch a game.

Hands down one if the best bars I’ve been to. Very diverse crowd of all ages, but predominantly a blue collar Queens crowd, which is all I need. Staff here is aces, very attentive and polite, and doesn’t play favorites with certain customers while ignoring others. They treat everyone as a regular, I really appreciate that! The bar is very clean, excellent prices, and great old school Irish bar atmosphere. While there’s a large range if ages drinking and socializing here, my girlfriend and I never felt creeped out by getting weird stares from drunk guys like at other watering holes.
It’s the kind of place where you just hang out with everyone, have a great beer, and enjoy. Literally nothing negative to be said about the Rover.

Awesome spot. Great prices! Good atmosphere. The bartenders there always keeps me entertained. I’m always laughing, also great selection of music in the jukebox. Every time I go there i always have a good time. Definitely worth going to.

The Rover! Everything a neighborhood bar should be. great bartenders. kinda seedy. cheap dranks. where actual conversations are had at the bar. if you want em. if u just wanna sit there and get obliterated — that’s cool too. if you live in the neighborhood and this isn’t your go-​to bar then you’re a jerk.

The Irish Rover is a super solid neighborhood bar. It has friendly bartenders, buy backs, darts, and an awesome trivia night on Thursday. Not the largest beer selection in the world, but if you want a bunch of craft beer, go down to 30th Ave and check out Judy and Punch. The whiskey prices here are like $ 3-​$ 5 cheaper than anywhere else in NYC. Love it.

I’m not a regular here by any means but I hit it a few times a year. It’s a good Irish bar that’s no frills and makes no apologies. The bartenders, once you get to know them a bit, are friendly and always have some good conversation there. Drinks are basic and good and reasonably priced. They’ll buy you back too which is nice since that seems to be an unheard of practice in Manhattan.
They play lots of sports here that you may not get in other bars like soccer, rugby, and hurling. If you like this stuff you will like this bar.
I’ve never seen any trouble in there and the crowd is pretty even keel. This is not by any means a scene of «the beautiful people» you may find in other bars however you are not there for that and you certainly aren’t paying for it. Come in, sit down, have a few drinks and shake your tough day off here.

If you’re into divey types of bars this is the place. I enjoyed the selection of draft beers and cocktails that were delicious. Played darts for a bit which was pretty cool, although we sucked. Bathrooms were clean. I would for sure come back. And I got a free beer after I bought 2.

Place is THeeeE best. It’s either the pre game spot, the chill all night spot or the after party spot. good crowd and they even sometimes have live music here and yes they are straight from Ireland I mean would you have it any other way Irish rover? 7 decent sized tvs to watch sports of sorts and just about anything you want to drink behind the bar or on tap. Come in groups or or come for an intimate drink either way I’m sure it will be fun. chill bartenders and cheap pitchers … Count me in.

Legit bar without question. Staff is friendly and they let you bring in your own food. They have enough TV’s to satisfy all your fan needs.

The only downside of this bar is it’s distance from the subway. It’s easy to get to by bus by the Q18 but a little bit of a hike or very one else.
The Sam Adams summer was bad, probably because it’s close to Oktoberfest season, I won’t fault them for that. The ATM has a $ 3 surcharge and try dot accept Amex.
They have a lot of huge TVs and an AMI jukebox. The bathrooms are clean and they have a dart board.

I love playing darts and this place has two steel tip boards. One of them, however has no ochey, and the other one was taken. That is minus 1 star.
The first and only time I went there the beer was flat. I ordered something different thinking it might just be that beer, and it was still flat. This is why I took off another star.
The people were very relaxed and the lighting was great. Prices were affordable and the bartender was friendly.
The bathroom was clean and the music was OK.

Really solid bar with a super-​friendly server from the old sod and tasty beers. We visited on a weekday afternoon for a brief respite and the only drinkers were neighborhood regulars, but I imagine the places amps up at night and on the weekend. Real deal Irish/​grizzled man pub.
