If SFE keeps the minimum taste, they could have good business for Astoria community. Food-not great. Delievery man-not polite. Overall I dont want to order their food again unless they improve their food. I hope they dont ruin Korean food’s reputation.

It’s a shame this place is located across the street from the projects. There’s usually this guy in a wheelchair right on the corner. If you’re planing to come here, drive or come during broad daylight. Unsafe neighborhood, awesome food though! Love this place! They have authentic Korean food, not the BBQ stuff that everyone thinks is the only Korean food. They have some great soups and lunch sets! Just like I used to get when I was in Korea! ^_^ They also sell Kimchi by the Litre, Quart, and Gallon. We always drive to Seoul Fusion Eatery and always be sure to leave with a Quart of Kimchi. Their Kimchi is THEBEST!

An authentic Korean restaurant which makes you feel you’re in a local Seoul restaurant. Owned by a friendly Korean family who make tasty and warm home dishes. An interesting fact is that a delivery guy who’s not Korean can speak Korean!

When I first moved to Astoria, I didn’t know how much I would miss Korean food. I live off Ditmars and this place wouldn’t deliver to us without a 30 dollar min. I was so desperate for a taste of home, we ordered anyway. The yukaejang was not bad. They gave a good amount, enough for probably 3 people. My boyfriend thought the bulgogi was good, but he’s not Korean so what does he know ;) Overall, the food was decent(I’ve had better), but I’ll wait until other Korean restaurants open up.

This place is your local authentic Korean take out joint… Wait that doesn’t exist! Asian take out joints are usually American Chinese food or fake sushi joints. Not sure why people give 3 stars to a small spot because there isn’t a wait staff or because it’s not David Chang. We ordered the shredded beef soup and the kimbab(looks like sushi rolls for non-Korean food peeps). The total was $ 17 and included side dishes(pickled radish, Kim chee, and chicken stew /w potato). The food is authentic and nice and spicy. The food was enough for 3 people maybe 4 depending on how much you eat. This is more of a take out spot and save yourself a trip to ktown and order take out.

I’ve only ordered here twice but they have been pleasant experiences. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The quality and tastes are comparable to a korea town joint in manhattan. No, it’s not like your grandma’s cooking. if that’s what you are looking for maybe you should go visit grandma. But I’m glad I have other Asian choices other than Americanized Thai, fast food Chinese and mediocre ramen in this area. I order the tuna kimchi kimbab, a personal favorite, and the shredded beef soup(yoo ke jang), which came with the side dishes(banchan) that people love about korean food. The soup was flavorful and spicy. I shared it with my bf and we were stuffed and we had leftovers. When you consider the portions and side dishes, the prices make sense. I don’t know why people are complaining about the prices. I mean people in midtown pay $ 10+ for sad excuses for bibimbap. The owner isn’t the nicest man in the world. He is straight business and that’s all right with me. If you know the stereotype about older korean men, you wouldn’t be surprised by the lack of warm fuzzy feeling. 5 stars for this no frills take out joint for yummy food, large portions, quick prep, and no bs.

Short and sweet. $ 10 minimum for credit card. Kind of in the hood, so crazy people outside sometimes. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of Korean places(wait, are there any at all other than this place?) in the Astoria/LIC area, but this place will do the job. Authentic, reminds me of hole in the wall kimbop jips(cheap korean food joints) in seoul. Plastic tables and chairs. Fans instead of AC. If you want a shot of nostalgia, this is your place. Generous portions of bulgogi($ 10 so hits that credit card quota. Fighting ^^)that are just like your old backyard bbq. not the freshest banchan(side dishes), but again, reminds you of growing up: P Again, beggers can’t be choosers, and living in Astoria, when it comes to Korean food, I’m a begger, and this place feels like paradise. p. s. i’ve gotten the kimbop, ramen, bibimbop, kimchi bokumbop with fried eggs, and bulgogi. my fave is bulgogi because it is flavorful and filling, but the rest will satisfy your korean food craving, but none will knock your socks off. the ones with korean pop stars like g dragon, or shin lamyun bowls on them…

I loved it. Me and my friends aren’t picky jerks when it comes to food so ad long as the food is good, the service is humble, and the price isn’t half bad, we’ll have a good time. We all enjoyed each of our meals, and the service was nice. What more can you ask from a simple takeout place?

Everyone orders in because no one is eating at the shop. The owner is a bit stoic. The other workers are quite nice. Food is pretty decent. Big portions and they give a side dishes too. I’m glad a Korean restaurant came to the neighborhood but I wish the quality was better and the store looked more presentable. Would’ve been a lot better for business and customers.

SERVICE2⁄5STAR OWNERISCHEAPANDSORUDE. That’s how they received 2 Stars on their service rating. It has been almost 2 years that they opened their store and he raised his price 3 times already. It was $ 5.50 for lunch special when he opened up, and now it is $ 7.50. I guess since they are only Korean cuisine in the area, people still makes order from them even he keep raise the price. They don’t put more side because they raised the price, in fact, it became poor quality compared to period they just opened. They are the type of business who doesn’t appreciate to their customer, no action to satisfy the customer but thinking only to gather more money out of their customer’s pocket. I saw another reviewer complained on owner’s reaction when she asked for a little special offer such as separate meat and rice for her beef over rice order. I meant he can just tell her I am so sorry but it can be only come out like that or simply put beef and give them a rice separately. He always start with crappy story such do you know how much containers cost? blah blah-blah… well, then he should think something out! I had similar issue with owner. I realized that sometimes their food have different taste. So I decided to report owner about their food that your food has different taste often. It was not a complain but opinion; however, whenever he hear anything from me he reacted negatively. One day, he decided to not to deliver food to me because I complain too much.(I resolved this issue with him when he delivered food when my co-worker ordered food) FOOD2.5÷5STAR FOODIS ‘OK’ MOSTOFTIME, but their taste gets changed every time. Sometimes they have poor quality of ingredients that seaweed on Kimbob was totally cracked, or sometime their soup tastes bit sour. I am concerning how they are keeping their ingredients and how long they use it since owner is very cheap person. I bet he must be using all of vegetables and other sources until its limit or slight bypass its limit! They have OK taste of Kimbobs, and Bibim bob. I like their beef over rice too. They have average quality of foods, I didn’t find any of them amazing but found some of them were horrible. Try to avoid any of fried entrees, because simply it is horrible.

First off the lady that answers the phone is extremely polite. I got the kimchi-jigae and the bulgogi over white rice. I like my kimchi-jigae a little spicier but the flavor was on par. No complaints of the bulgogi, extremely flavorful with a hint of sweet. On top of that they give you little side orders of pan chan like your Asian mother would! Haha I do recommend this if you want a delicious affordable meal. Plus they deliver!

Wait a second, Very nice grandma cooking inside, smells of garnish & coriander leaves oh god !! Wow extremely authentic hankook food! Largest portion and I feel very much home cooked style. You should try it. Reasonably priced & for those who wrote negative reviews go Line up at Junk food Donald’s which you might be a big fan of & don’t deserve to eat these types food in the hood. I am just being nice enough to tell you cry babies or stop complaining son! It’s not about the neighborhood standing outside or food they cook here, it’s about how much you need to appreciate what you get here on that price or imagine where people have to think what to eat next. Atleast be nice! I am a big fan of their food & rest can eat Junk.

You have no idea how excited I am to have found this place. Bibimbap is one of my favorite dishes in the whole wide world. Where I used to live, I would have to drive at least 20 minutes to get it, but now I can not only walk 5 minutes and get delicious bibambap for less than $ 10, but I can have it delivered when I’m feel lazy(which is often). This is why I love NYC. I ordered the bibimbap last night for dinner(Props to seamless for making my pickup super convenient and fast). I was very pleased by the quantity of food. The bibimbap itself was already pretty substantial, with only the meat lacking(but I’ve found that to be pretty common at other places), but it also comes with house made soup, and three banchan(side dishes), an amazing deal for a mere $ 9. Everything was DELICIOUS! The soup was hot and flavorful(though it was mostly just broth). The side dishes were all excellent. I got potato salad, kimchi and cucumbers in some kind of spicy sauce(sorry I don’t know the korean names of things). The kimchi in particular was very good, nice and crisp with good flavor without tasting like it’s just cabbage gone bad. I even ordered an additional order of it to eat with rice later(omfg I’m so asian…). All the ingredients in the bibimbap were plentiful and delicious. I was more than satisfied with everything and scarfed it all down in record time. You better believe I will be ordering the bibimbap again in the near future. I’m also interested in trying other items. I’m just so so freaking happy to have found a decent Korean place near me!!!(Can you tell?)

I think I just need more practice in the realm of Korean cuisine. More exposure. I ordered a slew of items that looked and tasted delicious in my mind’s eye. When it all arrived(so quickly I was vacuuming and missed the doorbell three times, I might add) I felt confused and frightened– like an old man who sees a pack of «street youths» approaching. All of the individual ingredients looked more or less recognizable, but then there were sauces and miscellaneous components I felt I should have been applying to the meal more adeptly. Where does the red thing go? What the hell is that stuff? Do I eat this on its own, or with this other thing that looks like pan fried worms? It was all fairly tasty– but my point is that(I think) it was intended to be tastier. I dunno. For me Korean food is a mysterious fig and bears delving into. But I will try Seoul Fusion again. I just need to do a little research first. It might help to skip takeout and eat at the location, so I can make an ignorant nuisance of myself. «Pardon me, good sir, does the bitter red thing go on this or on the green thing that looks like freeze-dried tentacles? Oh, it gets mixed with the white pile of material that burns my mouth? Much obliged!»

A covert joint tuck in Astoria that serves inexpensive mediocre Korean food. Though the decors are not extraordinaire, the place is fairly clean and decent with scanty tables that serves two or four. Service was prompt and acceptable. Though a joint, it is earnest of them to provide complimentary appetizers like most Korean restaurants. My boyfriend and I ordered the vegetable kimbap in which we were impressed with the quantity and the taste. The kimchi fried rice was moderate, as we had better at other joints. The kimchi in the fried rice had the crunchiness, however, it tasted more of green mustard than spicy fermented cabbage.

Seoul Fusion Eatery is the new take out joint on the block and I was excited to try it out. Based on the fact that was replacing the old Chinese takeout joint and the general neighborhood, I didn’t have high expectations. Takeout places in areas without a high asian population need to make fried chicken, pork fried rice, and fries to survive(all of which are on Seoul Fusion’s menu). Authenticity tends not to be appreciated, which is a bummer for little me. I’m with Ted C. 2 stars for food, but 1 star just for the fact that there is absolutely no Korean anywhere else in this part of Astoria. I called my order in before I left work, getting my favorite Korean winter dish — soon dou bou stew. Its a spicy tofu soup served typically with seafood(but I opted for beef). The food was meh. The tofu was a really odd consistency, and not at all the creamy silken tofu that you’re supposed to get. The broth was okay, and the heat was bolstered by sliced jalapenos. The beef was a bit stringy(but I wasn’t going to get seafood on my first try here). I was impressed that I got kimchi, pickled daikon radish, and marinated fish as ban chan(sides) — the kimchi is pretty spot on. As far as overall authenticity or quality goes, however, its not up to snuff. For a quick Korean food fix or a cheap meal, its great. So mind your expectations. I might be willing to try other things on their menu, but for now my curiosity is satisfied,

FINALLY! A Korean place in Astoria! Run by a super sweet and earnest Korean family, they are in a space that looks like it used to be a Chinese takeout place. No ambiance for eating in, but what do you expect for take out? Boyfriend and I still stayed to enjoy our food here since we were on our way to the movies. Ordered way too much food — bibimbap, Omelette rice, and ttukbokgi(spicy rice cakes). My usual complaint about ttukbokgi is that there isn’t enough rice cakes — so not the case here! I wished they had taken into account my Korean-ness and made it more spicy, but we still finished every bite. The Omelette rice’s fried rice was a bit disappointing(I like the egg in the rice as well as on top of the rice), but still a solid choice. Boyfriend finished his bibimbap before I could take a bite. Overall — does it compare to Flushing/Ktown? Not really, but taking into account that there are NO Korean restaurants in the area, this definitely satisfies my cravings! It was also super cheap, and there were large portions. I’m a fan! Will definitely be back!

I will give two stars for the food, half for the fact that there’s Korean delivery in Astoria and another .5 for keeping my girlfriend fed after Sandy hit. Fortunately, we didn’t have to worry about that and the delivery was fast, like Jimmy John’s in their commercials fast. We ordered 3 dishes, the bulgogi kimbap, ttokbokgi(listed as a spicy rice cake) and the kimchi jigae. Total damage? $ 18 bucks! I walked down there with a 40 burger expecting to get 10 back at most and it was just a solid $ 20, tip included! The food, was okay. The jigae was the standout, with lots of big pieces of kimchi but not too much meat. The kimbap was just okay, it’s one of those things that’s easy to make but hard to make right. I think I’m harkening back to my childhood and my mom’s homemade ones, but they also added imitation crab to it too, weird. The spicy rice cake was not very good, very little heat and not that much flavor. I like that they focus on boon-shik, basically, Korean diner type food and I am willing to try out other dishes but it’s just all right.
