REALLYGOODPIZZA!!! We read a few reviews and decided to try a few slices before ordering a bunch of pies for my little one’s birthday party. One bite convinced us that yes, this was the place! The sauce was fresh, the cheese was real and the crust was tender and delicious. So we pre ordered and the pizza was a big hit. Thank you Mia pizza for making my daughters’ birthday a big hit. Everyone commented on how good the pizza was! I can’t recommend Mia Pizza any higher! Thanks guys!

Obsessed with their Grandma’s Pizza. I ask for the crust a little well done(bc I’m a crunchy crust lover), but it’s really good!

I come from a family of New Jersey Italians and I’ve lived in NYC since I graduated college. I have no patience for mediocre pizza, especially in New York City. Mia Pizza is my go-to pizza place. It is excellent and it’s reasonably priced. I like everything else I’ve had too — pasta, salad, heroes, etc. This place is a few blocks from my apartment and that makes me very very happy.

This is actually my first review ever on Unilocal or any other review website of any kind. I am normally not too interested in reviewing restaurants and businesses, but after another amazing experience with Mia Pizza, I felt compelled. As someone who mostly uses Unilocal to READ reviews, and gather information to make an informed decision, I know how damning it can be to read a really bad review. Since moving to Astoria, I have eaten at Mia Pizza about 20 – 25 times, and I have had not ONE poor experience. In fact, every single experience has been outstanding. I am not a picky eater, or a foodie type, but I love me some pizza. And quite frankly, I think I know where each pizza spot classifies on the scale. Mia Pizza is not only the single BEST pizza spot in Astoria(to be fair, I’ve only tried about 7 – 10 other pizza spots — like I said I love pizza). It is also one of the best pizza spots I’ve had in all of NYC since moving in. The restaurant is close by, so on all occasions but one, I have just walked and picked up my order. However, the other day, I finally asked for delivery, and this experience was even better than I could have expected. The pizza came piping hot to my door. For the first time, I tried their specialty Chicken Marsala Pizza. This is TOPNOTCH. I would 100% suggest going with this pie. It was a tough decision for me, since I love their cheese slice, and the Marsala pie can’t be done as a half and half. But in the end, it was the right decision. I’m not sure I can ever go away from the Marsala slice again… *No one has written about it yet, but the Mia’s special pasta is UNREAL. Penne, chicken cutlet, spinach, vodka sauce and melted mozz on top. LEGIT.

Stopped by this pizza shop a few times just because it was convenient, every time I don’t know if it’s my luck or they are just that incompetent. They either forgot something I ordered or straight up forgot to put in my order. I always pre order soO I don’t have toO wait. The pizza is nothing special, everything on it reminds me of 2bros Dollar slice, except more expensive! The last time I ordered a pie it was actually under cooked, how does that happen… I enjoy good quality Secret Sauce Ingredient Pizza’s, this spot has failed me over & over *U Are Dead 2 Me!

Ordered a baby cheese pie and hot wings. Overall experience was mediocre at best. Pros: +delivery was on time +wings were still hot when they arrived Cons: –personal cheese pie was literally cold, not just room temperature — and tasted like a frozen pizza that had been microwaved(actually, I’m pretty sure it was a microwaved frozen pizza lol) Way too doughy. Maybe I shouldn’t have gotten a baby pie but all it was rather disappointing –wings were hot but not good. Sauce was skimpy and the skin was an odd kind of chewy/crispy Bottom line: Two stars are for the promptness of delivery and correctness of the order(which should go without saying) but the food was terrible. Won’t be eating from Mia Pizza again.

I don’t often leave reviews, but I felt compelled to leave a comment on Mia. Excellent pizza, among the best in the Astoria/Ditmars area… certainly some of the best pizza I have had in quite some time. Very friendly owner, staff & delivery folks as well. Pizza is NY style and is consistently well prepared. Also a shout out to the buffalo wings & garlic knots: you can’t go wrong with those either.

I just returned from Mia Pizza. I asked if they had Marsala Pizza and the same worker who screwed up last time told me I am denied service per the owner. Pretty sad Joe.

As a resident of New York for the past 25 years, I am very picky with my pizza. When I saw the high reviews on Unilocal,I was skeptical. But after a few bites, I was convinced. A few months later, I will find any chance I can to visit Mia Pizza. The interior is small, with a long booth on the right side with two tables that fits a large group of 10 people. On the left, there’s a bar-eating area with three stools. Most people who come to Mia, however, get it delivered or for take out. And now… to the pizza. There are always two taste tests for any NYC pizzeria. The first is of course, the classic cheese slice with nothing on it. It was perfect, the right ratio of cheese: sauce:bread. That’s the most important part. The second test is the Sicilian or Grandma’s Slice. Mia really shines here. Although I prefer the classic slice, my fiancé and my friends always prefer the Grandma slice. It’s very crispy and cooked to the perfect temperature, but eat it fast or it will get cold. I asked my fiancé for her review, and she said, «Umm it’s very crisp… nom nom nom nom.» So there you go. More recently, I started to venture into their other creations, including their Chicken Marsala Pizza, Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza, and Baked Ziti Pizza. In all seriousness, this is where the weight gain will come back. I specifically loved the Chicken Marsala Pizza and will probably be my new go-to. Just look at my picture and try not to order it next time. It really does feel like I went to a old-timey Italian restaurant, ordered Chicken Marsala, got it to-go and then dumped it on a cheese pizza. Very, very good. «I love pizza. I want to marry it, but it would just be to eat her family at the wedding.» — Mike Birbiglia.

I am so happy to have this place on my block. Great pizza, awesome selection, and their other dishes are delicious too. I’ve had several kinds of pizza(plain, buffalo, Marsala, white), excellent eggplant rollatini, and chicken parm. The owner is always sitting in the front and always greets with a hello. Solid restaurant.

Really close to my apartment, great grab’n’go slice for Astoria, which other than Rizzos, is greatly lacking in the pizza field.

Not sure how this place has 4.5 stars. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were either frozen or fake. Not sure how an Italian place messes that up but highly recommend against ordering that dish. Also tried the cheese calzone, which was OK. Can’t say it was good, but can’t say it was terrible. Astoria has so many good Italian places and i was fooled by the ratings here. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Mia Pizza consistently delivers quality old school NY style pizza! While I have never visited the actual restaurant, the pies I have ordered on Seamless are always delivered quickly, warm, and delicious! They do not skimp on sauce or overwhelm the pizza with toppings, everything is the right proportion. The prices are really reasonable as well. If you are looking for a great pizza in the Astoria area, this is the best!

This is my all time favorite pizza place, besides the Pizza I get the Chicken Marsala with Penne, which is better than what I’ve had at fancy Italian restaurants. The staff is friendly and efficient; when I call in an order they know who I am and always have my order ready when I arrive. Hint: if you call in your order when you reach the Queensborough Plaza Station on the N or Q Train, your order should be ready by the time you get there! They also have Italian Ices in the Summer.

MYDAYSOFBEINGDISAPPOINTEDBYMYLATENIGHTEATINGHABITSAREFINALLYOVER!!! I am honestly THRILLED to finally find a stellar New York pizza place in Astoria. First of all, you can get an extra large cheese pie for $ 14, and it’s huge, floppy, cheesy and delicious. We ordered two pies, one pepperoni and one cheese, both arrived fresh and hot and in less than an hour. The crust is chewy with a perfect crunch on the bottom. I don’t see any reason to order from another pizza place going forward. Mia crushed it!

My husband and I order from Mia once or twice a month. The menu is no-frills, all the staples, and most of the time they make a decent [pizza, lasagna, francese, whatever]. However they have become increasingly inconsistent, and it culminated in tonight’s dinner. We ordered a simple pizza pie, half sausage. It arrived earlier than estimated, however it was clear we had been served a frankenpie – 8 random pieces of pizza, barely re-heated, crusts stale, thrown together. I am a crust fanatic so this was very sad(full disclosure, I ate two pieces anyway but I’ve been craving pizza all week and I was super hungry lol). It’s unfortunate because we would have happily waited longer for a fresh pie, but we’ll be branching out in the future. There are way too many pizza joints in Astoria to stick with one that’s just meh. (Sorry, everyone there has always been very nice, the service is always prompt, and they’ve never messed up an order. But the food matters most)

Gonna say it: this is the best pizza I’ve had in a while… And I eat a lot of pizza. Got the house special(sausage, pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms, onions) and the sausage was on point– sliced not diced. Delivery arrived within the 45 minute estimate and was«right outta the oven» hot. XL pie less than $ 25… Definitely can’t go wrong.

This is the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’ve scoured the city. Been to probably hundreds of pizza places. I’m a pizzavore. I eat pizza 6 – 10 times a week, depending on the week. My hubz and I got a Grandma’s pie($ 19 for a big one) and some garlic knots(6/$ 1.50). It was wholly and utterly *perfect*. The knots: kinda crisp on the outside, soft and flavorful inside. Coated in garlic and oil(but not in the fake creepy Sbarro kind of way). Basically, they were made as the food gods intended them to be made. Perfect. The pie: Perfect ratio of everything. Perfect sweet/savory ratio of sauce and perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and basil. The cheese… Oh, it was good cheese alright. That crust. Crunchy and chewy all at once? Yes, please. We ate at the joint, but they deliver to my new apartment and I will almost undoubtedly eat there once a week. Were it not for my wallet and waistline, I’d eat there every day. PS: They’re super nice, too! DOIT! EATHERE! FOREVER!
