Just Combo

The food is simply out of this world. Their portions are huge, service is exceptional and food tastes very good. I tried the beef shwarma, some chicken shwarma and some flafel and everything was delicious. The guy working there had a smile taking the order and making the food. Genuinely nice people. Place was packed. Parking is on the street. Hey have seating inside but this is not a fancy sit down place. You can stand outside and eat. I would come back again.

Friendly people, the guy who took my order was literally smiling the whole time! Really made my day. Their chicken kebab with yellow rice platter with white sauce is delicious! Go easy on the hot sauce! It is really spicy, was struggling to finish my food. I live two minutes away from here and it saves me the trip from walking all the way to Ditmars for halal from a cart. Food was freshly prepared. Not sure why this place got so-​so reviews. I would come back!

They’re open late & serve some banging halal food! Ask for Chicken Kabab with Yellow rice. Beautifully served & with middle eastern salad & white sauce hits the spot!

I Looove their mix platter! This place has great food. Hamburgers are huge, and so was the potatoh wedges that comes with it. I love this place, now thet serve aswome mash potatoes, roasted chicken, tilapia fish, and more! Defintly a good spot to try out.

Improvements are noticeable and customer service is much better than I expected as opposed to the negative reviews that i read. Chicken kabab platter always makes my day. Not only delicious, but most importantly large portions.

I made an order on Eat24, they called me and told me their menu was wrong as if that is my fault they can’t call and change their prices. Guy was pretty rude about the whole thing. I was fine with this mixup but he put the burden on me to cancel the order, scoffing at my request for him to cancel the order. These people aren’t even smart enough to fix their menu. I haven’t even eaten here and I have no desire to even walk by this business. Mix ups happen but being rude to a new customer shows poor practice.

Pizza was decent, professionalism poor! I went in one day for 2 slices and saw a man order for himself to the guys behind the counter. When I sat in and finished eating I was ready to take ½ of it home and throw out the rest of my trash off the tray. I wanted to do this before asking for a paper bag. On the way to the trash that same man who ordered gave me a surly look and with his hand out to stop me said «you can’t throw that away, that costs money». Defensively I told him I was taking it home anyway but what I should’ve said was «Mind your business because that was my intention and even if it wasn’t I still paid for it with money I earned». Anyway I asked for my bag and the cashier behind the counter merely smiled as if he found it all too funny. The nut job took my tray which confused me. If this man works here, that’s poor respect for the customer. If this man is just a local hanging out, then the company you keep reflects your business. I will not return. They don’t air condition in the heat of summer either. Why bother?!?

This place serves the same food as 53^rd and 6^th but just without the drive into the city which is cool. I have ordered this place for delivery which takes forever to get to at my apartment. The delivery guy has called me numerous times to tell me he can’t find my place and once they brought no white or hot sauce! How can I eat a gyro platter without that! The only reason why this place gets two stars is because I went there to eat at their location and it was good because the food was warm and tasted good but maybe it was because I was really hungry and fasting all day.

Ordered delivery from them and got the Chicken shawerma plate and falafel sandwich. Both were pretty average. The portions were pretty big for the plate and could easily be two meals. The falafel sandwich was pretty average, but the only thing of note was the very large size of the falafel – there were four of them in the sandwich and they were extra big! The delivery was pretty quick, so this is a good option if you want something quick and easy.

I am not sure what happened to Just Combo. When they first opened a couple years ago, I thought their Falafel pita and/​or platter was excellent. I don’t live in this nearby anymore, however I was in the neighborhood, so I figured I’d stop in for what I remembered to be really good falafel. I will say that it was late, so that might be part of why the food was definitely not what I remembered and almost inedible. I can’t say for sure, but I am almost positive Just Combo is serving frozen food now, not fresh. The falafel does not have the same taste and is not the same look or taste it was when they first opened. I will not be back.

I’ve ordered a few times from this place and the sandwiches were very tasty especially their falafel.
Tonight I decided to take a drive and pick up a nice sandwich for dinner, I had never been there before. One look around and I left empty handed. The place is DIRTY. Floors, windows, counter, grill etc.
What a SHAME to run a food business with such filth.

Worst service I have ever experienced. I was ignored for at least 5 minutes (good luck if you are not arab or latino), placed my order, they forgot to put it on. There was only 6 people in the restaurant. It took them an additional 20 minutes to make a simple Gyro sandwich which ended up being a big wet mass of sludge. It looked like an autopsy. Absolutely disgusting. I am not saying that because the service was so bad. If the food is good, that can correct the bad service, but I can’t even give them that. NEVER going again.

When did the employees here become so rude? They are rude over the phone and rude in person.
I used to overlook it until the store received a «C» rating. The food is good, but cannot overlook the rat feces that are sautéing with the food.
We have been happily taking our business to Schwarmania where the employees are much more hospitable.
I feel bad for the 1 – 2 employees who are decent people that receive a bad rep because of the other ass holes who work there.

Know the feeling when you are watching your favorite tv show or basketball game, and someone makes you getup and do a chore… yea that is EXACTLY the face the staff gives you when you walk in and want to order food. They are rude, inpatient and will literally force you to purchase something if you are not quick to order first.
Very bad service, that needs to change. Location is off the map, unless you live around there. Food is supposedly from same «halal guys», but I dont know about that.
Food:
It is okay. nothing amazing or worth going your way out for. If you car broke down, down the block and you are hungry… then go. else dont take the drive.
not trying to be rude, but I am saying the taste is not any much different from the million other halal spots/​carts out there.

I ordered a Hawaiian Pizza. Anywhere you order one, this means Ham, pineapple, cheese, and sauce. There was no sauce on the pizza. NOWHERE on their online menu does it say no sauce. Its insane. To top it off, it arrived cold!!! Completely inedible. I tried to get them to refund the transaction, and they would not. It is reprehensible service. I didn’t want them to «make it again,» I do not trust such an establishment. Maybe their other food is ok, I wouldn’t know, but do not order pizza from them if you want sauce! Made a Unilocal account just to review this place.

The falafel platter is the thing to get! Order was done quickly and delivered within 15mins of ordering. Downside, I ordered TWO cannoli’s, was charged for TWO cannoli’s and received ONE rice pudding… not what I asked for.
My advice? Go in person. Insure you get what you paid for.

I ordered delivery a few weeks ago through Seamless Web and I was pleasantly surprised! Delicious, fresh falafel sandwich (I made sure to order the sauce on the side to avoid a soggy mess!) and a plentiful chicken-​over-​rice platter with pita bread and fresh tabouli (which really exceeded my expectations for quick take-​out food). I’m no expert in the realm of halal fast-​food, but I was very pleased with my order and can’t wait to order again when my boyfriend– who doesn’t care for halal food– isn’t around (hehe!).

their falafel platter (and sandwich) is great. For the great price, they give you pitas, tabouli salad, rice, crunchy falafels and baba ganoush. Their baklava is really good.
A local gem. Cannot go wrong here!

Hey, pretty good pizza at the edge of Astoria. Literally two or three streets away from the end of Astoria park, came here for a quick bite and to escape the heat. I am only going to only mention three things for it’s a basic pizza spot with it’s Halal For All. They have a really basic menu, nuh much. I didn’t care, just a basic pizza stop like any other neighborhood pizza shop, but I would come again because pizza is tasty. Ordered couple slices at two bucks a slice and had no complaints for a good crisp crust and flavor in the pizza. Average.
Second comment is, oh yes they had decent air conditioning, I mean for a place with food cooking and an oven going it was cool enough but not 10,000 BTU cool, more like 5,000 BTU cool. With a handful of basic clean tables laid out, nice place to grab a quick bite. Average, basic local around the way pizza spot atmosphere, not much to it.
Dislike: when there are two people, which there were, the same person handling my food should not take my cash, I did hesitate to look if there was a register, no I paid my cash over the counter to the same person heating and handling my pizza. Minus point. I’m okay and not heavily disappointed in this service, just don’t like this idea because of any possible cross contamination.
Oh and I did notice table seating outside, but no not on this day, it was hot out and the point was to escape the heat in the A/​C inside.

So I finally tried something other than the pizza!
A couple of friends were over so we decided to order from Just Combo and pick it up when it was ready. The service was quick, the confirmation email said our order would be ready for pick up in about 20 minutes, we went on time and had to wait about 10 more minutes, but it wasn’t a big deal as we did order two large pies (which they made fresh) on top of some small individual orders.
Their chicken shawarma platter was delicious! By far one of the best halal platters I’ve had (even better than the famous 53^rd and 6^th cart — I know, blasphemy!). They give you a good sized portion of salad and pickled vegetables as well as rice and chicken with the white sauce (crack sauce, really!).
Another friend had a burger and fries (very reasonable for around $ 5!!). It wasn’t AMAZING, but for definitely better than five guys and half the price! One thing that was odd — when ordering on Seamless they asked what condiments we wanted for the burger in which we checked white sauce and ketchup. We thought they would give us packets or at least small plastic container. What actually happened is that they had already put ketchup and white sauce already on the burger! That was odd, but tasty none-​the-​less.

This place was a little sketchy and it took awhile for our food, but it was tasty nonetheless. Service was friendly and food was cheap — though you can’t tell what the prices are on the menu. lol They have writing over top. I had a gyro — certainly not authentic — I find the middle eastern places use different spices on the meat, and garlic sauce instead of tzsiki. Despite this, it was pretty good.

Just Combo is a fast-​food halal/​pizza place a few blocks from Astoria Park.
The prices are decent: pizza slices range from $ 2.50 to $ 3.50+. For $ 7, you can get a falafel sandwich plate, which comes with a small scoop of salad, pita, and rice OR fries.
I thought the food and sauces (white and red) were decent but bland. I asked if the plate came with fries, and they said yes and then gave me rice… Their portions were average. I didn’t expect amazing food, but it was kind of a disappointment.
Their delivery minimum is $ 7, so I might order if I’m starving and getting delivery food for 1. otherwise, I don’t really see myself going back.

Chicken over rice is usually found on street vendors at all hours of the day, from lunch all the way into the middle of the night.
Luckily for us, not only is Just Combo open until midnight, its fresh and plentiful. The rice comes with salad, a fresco tomato mix, a plethora of sauces and meat selections, of chicken, gyro, shawarma or combo.
The great thing is you don’t have to worry about your meat being kept in unrefrigerated container like most street meats. Everything here is prepared to order and high pilled into a dish to stay or go.
