This place is terrible and always terrible. If they don’t launder money here, I can’t imagine how they keep their doors open.

Food — Mofongo — actual quite good… the sauce was packed with flavor. it’s quite filling. Pollo Frito — chicken was a bit dry. rice and beans were nothing special. have had it better elsewhere for a lot cheaper. Service — It wasnt that busy when we arrived, but the waitresses seemed overwhelmed, running back and forth, along with the rest of the staff. They were not attentative at all. Every time we needed anything, had to flag them down. I think the owner was there and the manager, but they seem too preoccupied amongst themselves. For a restaurant that recently opened, you would except service to be top notch or at least close to it. I do understand they just recently opened, but if they want to build clientele, then they seriously need to focus on their service skills.

Why the 4 stars? The food is definitely authentic puerto rican. But I give them a 3 for service. I went last week w/my fam and the food was awesome. Yes the service was slow and yes the waitresses aren’t very attentive but keep in mind this restaurant just opened. Poor people don’t even have a liquor license yet. Despite the shaky service, the order did approach our table and discussed his plans for the space, he even gave us sampling of the gandules that tasted just like pastels.yummy. The alcapuria was very good and the pernil was just like my momma makes it. I definitively will back. One, its the only puerto rican restaurant in Queens that I know of and two, I’m looking forward to the live entertainment and dance floor!

I went even after reading the bad review. I didn’t eat there I decided to do take out, I waited an hour to get my order! The girl who took my order kept apologizing and asking if I wanted a glass of water as if that would make it better. Not sure why it took so long when there was only three tables occupied. I took my order home and realized they didn’t give me any beans with my rice and the Alcapuria wasn’t cooked all the way. I would give it another chance since they just opened and the fact that it’s hard to find«authentic Puerto Rican» food.
