I got my laminate wood flooring from Astoria Carpet recently after searching many places like Home Depot/Empire/Private Contractors but I got a reasonable price quote and the service provided by Matina the sales person in the office and installing workers Edgar and Oswaldo were super Professional/Courteous/Quick/Efficient. After much searching for an area rug that would fit our awkward sized cinema room, my girlfriend and I decided to look into buying a cut of carpet and having it bound. This way we could get the exact measurements we required, while being able to keep the rug if we ever move. We came by here and the woman working that day(not sure if there’s more than her) agreed with our assessment on getting a cut bound. We browsed through the extensive selection and eventually found what we wanted. The price was just right and the timing to get it bound was perfectly reasonable. The saleswoman was very friendly and knowledgeable. So why is there only 3 stars up there? I received the call that the rug was ready. I didn’t really think much about how big or heavy it would be. After all, we had hauled a similar sized area rug(a few inches size difference or we would have gotten the same thing) back from Home Depot on the N train with no problem. I arrived in store and she pointed at the rug. It was huge, bulky, and heavy. Never once was I offered any sort of delivery options. In fact, I was asked if I had a car! I live in New York. I don’t have a car. Frustrated and thoroughly sick of moving/furnishing, I just decided to take the rug and leave. I only live a few blocks away, but damn was that the longest few blocks i’ve ever walked. Sure, I could’ve asked about delivery, but that should have been an option presented to me upon sale. If I ever need something carpeted again, I probably would come back. Ultimately, I had no problems with the price or quality of the product, but I will definitely be more clear next time on my delivery needs!
