came here for the classic 3.50 shot and a beer…1−6pm…we were waited on by Caroline who was even more lovely than the happy hour so we stuck around for dinner. my god! the food! this is obviously the best place to eat in aspen. the acorn squash is the secret best item on the menu. not that everything else on the menu isn’t better than anything else you will eat in aspen… just saying the acorn squash is something special and unique. hope somebody else reads this and takes the tip. she is wonderful as is the squash. I am pretty sure it’s impossible to have a bad time in aspen but with these two combined there is no doubt.

Had a great meal here during the Aspen off season. Everyone was super friendly. Hubby loved the cocktails(one of the best manhattans ever he says). Food was awesome for the price! Will definitely be back on our next trip!

Awesome drinks, that you can ask to customize! Food was good, but nothing to write home about. The wait staff was nice, but unreasonably slow service really killed my experience here. Next time, I’m hoping to come back here for drinks at the bar.

This is one of our favorite places in Aspen. The atmosphere is so fun! And it service was great! The Bloody Mary and mock cocktail were delicious! I had the pancakes and they were so good. I just want to eat them everyday!!! My husband got a burger that was so delicious, juicy and flavorful. We will definitely return!!!

I went into this place wanting to love it. The outside looked amazing. The inside was pretty awesome and old. The menus looked amazing and the reviews here on Unilocal are positive overall. I ordered my drink and it was disgusting. It smelled of being way over poured(I’ve bartended in 3 different countries. Over pouring does not make for a good drink. Also something else seemed off with the other flavors.) Ordered the chicken and waffles. I was so excited and what came out looked pretty awesome. I cut into one of the pieces and blood poured out of it. Not juices but bright red blood. I was 100% positive they would make it right and they brought me back another dish. I eat the chicken leg first and the crust on the chicken was nice. I then went to cut into the thigh and it was insanely over cooked. As in I couldn’t really separate a lot of the meat because it was so over cooked and dried out. It almost seemed like they were making a point but that is a total assumption. Then someone tried to take my food clearly before I was done(about a quarter of the food was still on my plate and I was chewing). I personally will not return to this establishment but maybe you will have a better experience? Most seem to love it and maybe I just had an off experience. Husband loved his food.

The food is amazing, but it is loud and the service is terrible. We might come back, but doubt it. It took 26 minutes for my husband to get his drink because the waitress forgot to order it and I had to get up and get my own water. The food redeemed and was amazing but the service was memorable only because it was so bad.

Warning! Do not visit if you are from out of state! I am from out of state, went in to get a beer and listen to some live music and was shocked with how I was treated. They checked my valid WA state ID after bringing me my beer and shot, then they(bartender & manager) didn’t believe I was 40 years old and took the drinks away! Bartender’s response when I answered all questions about my age and address correctly was, «I was born in 1983 there is no way your older than me.»

You caught my eye with your $ 5 happy hour margaritas and mojitos, maintained my interest with your $ 10 burger, but you truly captured my soul with your fried pickles. Our love will last a lifetime.

Ok, so the affordable $ 10 burger was not worth $ 10. Coming from Denver where a good burger is a great burger. I expected more from«Aspen.» My medium burger was welllllll done and my friends med-rare burgers were well done. Time to teach a chef how to cook hamburger?! Lettuce was old and the toothpick shards were in part of the meat. I was so hungry I almost ate half and that is saying a lot.

Cool atmosphere with live music and a great menu. We didn’t have any of their specialty drinks, because they were pretty pricey, but they had good wine and great food.

Went in here to get drinks and apps. Asked the waitress at the bar if we could get a table and she was very rude and told us we can ask the hostess. Being our first time it was very off putting and not customer friendly. I don’t recommend anyone go here, but Red Onion had great service right when we walked in! Very disappointed and confused as to why we were treated so poorly.

****There was written in 2014, in my review bank… First of all… I have been waiting to come here for a very long time… oh let’s just say… when Unilocal Winter Break 2014 was announced… First of all, it was wonderful to know the history of the building that Justice Snow’s resides in. That it was once a training facility for the military, which it was once a ballroom, that there is an opera house on the third floor from the 1800’s. I was glad to be a new part of Aspen History by just being in the building that was built by Mr. Jerome Wheeler. What a beautiful night just walking distance from the Red Onion. We walked in the night mountain air as the snow was silently falling… Finally there it was lit up by these ice sculptures… JUSTICE’S SNOW. We came through the curtains and here we were at JS… there were all tourists and locals sitting at the bar, drinking and eating. The place was packed, however there was a little candle lit table waiting for Hubbs and me! We were sat at a large picture window, which suited me just fine; since the snow had been falling it was a romantic date with my hubby. It was one of those moments when all the hustle and bustle just washed away and the snow that was falling became the center stage. We ordered drinks of course! When I come this way I will come back and enjoy more libations of the darker kind… Absinthe is served here!!!

Probably the best cocktail place in Aspen. In a very nice location. Loads and loads of custom cocktails on their menu. Knowledgeable bartenders always willing to recommend new drinks and provide insight. Food is OK, but nothing special, but that’s not really the draw of this place. Great and quirky atmosphere with a nice music selection. Has a nice 1940s décor. Alas, service on the floor, at the tables, was lackluster every time we went there.

3.25÷5 mind your tab. so, before you get drunkies, remember how much of these drinks cost, friend. it can add up! now do i think given the effort and location the price is fair, yeah, sorta. our bartender was charming(and handsome) and kept a good ear to our conversation. picking up that i had been thinking about grapefruit, he made me a drink with some beer and mezcal and lots of grapefruit that was just smashingly refreshing. my friend got this floral-y thing that she seemed to enjoy. while we were there, it seems some reps(actually maybe the president?) of st. george spirite(from alameda) were there. they kept tinkering with various gin concoctions, which offered a bit of additional entertainment.

This is the best place in Aspen to visit upon your arrival. Also the best place to go when you are ready to leave. Also there is no reason not to go there any time during your stay in Aspen. Wonderful handcrafted cocktails and three meals a day. Plus maybe the best bar snacks and small plates in the city.

Justice Snows is one of the best cocktail bars that I have ever been to. The prices are on par with the cocktail bars in New York City so I actually think this place is a pretty good deal is Aspen. You cannot order a bad drink here. The bartenders will make you any kind of drink you can imagine, and they are happy(unlike some places) to craft a custom cocktail for you. There is also a current drink menu, as well as a massive drink menu of all their seasonal cocktails. There are easily 100+ cocktails in the cocktail Bible they have here. It is especially fun to go with a friend so that you can sample multiple concoctions. Drinks range from about $ 14-$ 22, but you are getting top shelf liquor. I also have stopped into Justice Snow’s for brunch, and I got some fantastic lemon ricotta pancakes($ 13) here. The pancakes had blueberries in them as well and were delicious. I would actually recommend passing on the $ 5 mimosas because the two I had here were pretty bad. The waitress said that the normal champagne shipment hadn’t come in, but the alcohol that was used was not so good. If you are coming in for brunch, they bring in country singers from Texas on Sunday mornings. Not my favorite when I am trying to talk to people, but the music is pretty good if that is your scene.

First thoughts when walking in here: this is a legitimate cocktail bar. You know it’s good when fresh fruit(and vegetables) line the bar. You also know it’s good when they have a smattering of bitters scattered around. Had some cocktails, and some nibbles as well. Got the wagyu/pork meatballs that were in a smoky chipotle sauce. I don’t know that I would turn good wagyu beef into a meatball because I’d like to eat it in its purist form, but they were pretty darn tasty. We also had burrata, which never disappoints. Give me burrata and some bread and I’ll have it for breakfast daily if I was allowed! It was served with fava beans and tomatoes in balsamic vinaigrette.

Justice Snow’s has a killer happy hour, go for that. Just know that the draft menu is small(I think 4 – 6 beers) which is strange. The margs were excellent and on HH as well. The menu has all sorts of options to feed pretty much any taste. Our group all ended up ordering the house burger, which is kind of like a «small print» option. The menu doesn’t even list the price or what sides it comes with. Only $ 10BTW and it was fantastic! Fries were excellent too. Service was friendly, efficient, and on top of things. Definitely give Justice Snow’s a try if you’re in Aspen.

Looking like a local bar with some tables, no one expected the interesting twists on food we found there. The room was decorated with Victorian remnants, eclectic mirrors and interesting light fixtures. In addition the kitchen is known for its terrific Angus burger & fries. You can order regular fries or sweet potato waffle chips or a strange side dish like tempura pickle spears to accompany your main dish. There are other entrees on the menu in case you’re not a burger fan. This was easily one of the most unique restaurants we ate at in Aspen; a funky, well-worn atmosphere serving up a fresh slant on food preparation.
