Not only was the food here great, the service was great as well. I came here with my my parents and grandparents and the waiters were ever-present and extremely helpful to our large and somewhat demanding group. We started with the vegetarian spring rolls, which were delicious. They were packed with vermicelli, tofu, and sprouts and came with a delicious peanut sauce that wasn’t too sweet and was served warm! For lunch, we all ordered large phở and nobody finished theirs. I got chicken in a beef broth and it was excellent. The broth was seriously flavorful and got better as the jalapeños soaked in it. I also tried my mothers well-done brisket, which i thought was not as good as the chicken — a little bland and tough. Definitely some of the better phở in the city — I’ll be back!

The food here isn’t my top choice but I come for convenience since it’s not far from my house. I liked their bun no hue a few times but after a while i notice that you can really taste the mam ruoc(shrimp paste) in this dish. Their phở is edible but lacking the phở flavor. I usually get it anyway if I’m just really in the phở mood. They give you a decent portion of sliced beef but it’s sliced VERY thin, usually clumped together in your soup. Something tastes a little off about the beef… I use their hoisin or plum sauce to add flavor but something tastes off about their sauce as well… Place is clean and I’ve always had a good experience with their customer service. Place is never packed or to the point where you have to wait but it seems like they always have a good crowd. Better options out there but I don’t mind the food if it’s more convenient to come here.

Just tried this out for lunch today. Very clean restaurant. The bean sprout and Thai basil accompaniment was really fresh. There was a good ratio of broth, noodles, and meat. I’d give the phở an 8 out of 10. The broth could use a little more complexity. While not too sweet, I would have liked more cinnamon and star anise flavor. The older guy who took my order was a little curt, but the other staff seemed friendly. They have a nice selection of other offerings besides phở, to include spring and summer rolls, rice and vermicelli dishes, and even bubble tea. They also have bun bo hue, spicy pig soup, which I’ll try at the next visit.

One of the worst customer service restaurants. Will go to Phở Grill in Olney instead from now on. Worth the trip.

Great Phở and Grill here in Aspen Hill, MD. This location is fairly new, only being open about 2 months or so. It’s not busy, which is great if you would like a nice quite punch. The inside isn’t very decorated but it is clean and pleasant. Out of the couple times I have eaten here, I was greeted with pleasant smiles and a warm welcome. Good variety of food choice, but they do not serve banh mi sandwiches. Unusual for a Vietnamese noodle shop to me. The broth for the Phở is okay. Not very flavorful but no unpleasant either. Still sustains a good amount of flavor and packs a little punch in spices. Good amount of noodles and meat. The summer rolls are good, made just right and the peanut sauce is YUM! I would definitely recommend to give this place a go!

This is a fairly new phở location in the Aspen Hill area. I’m not too sure what happened to the other phở place that was in the shopping center adjacent to this one(the one with the Giant and Chipotle), but it’s now replaced by a Wingstop. I was pretty bummed when I didn’t see it there after moving back, but I was a little relieved that Phở An & Grill graced the Aspen Hill area with its presence and bringing phở back to this part of the suburbs… that is, until I actually ate there. I ordered a #2 on their menu. It came with: sliced brisket, flank steak, soft brisket, soft tendon, and tripe. You can always tell if a bowl of phở is good by the broth. If it doesn’t need any doctoring, then you know it’s going to be PHOnomenal(too cheesy?). Anyway, if the broth is flavorful as is, then there’s really no need to put add-ins unless you personally prefer it a certain way. The broth here was flavorless and really murky. Ew, not exactly what I was expecting. Thankfully, there were slices of jalapeño peppers, hoisin sauce, and Sriracha at my disposal(which kinda made it better, but not really). They were sparing on the tripe and tendon, and the beef was a bit tough. The egg rolls were probably the only thing I actually enjoyed, but I think those are hard to mess up anywhere you go. The staff wasn’t exactly welcoming. The man, who I’m assuming is the owner, seemed annoyed at seating me. He was too preoccupied sitting at a table on his laptop than dealing with his guests wanting to dine-in or pay for their meal. Sadly, although new, this place was very disappointing. I wouldn’t mind driving the extra mile or so for a better phở experience. This place has a lot of work to do if they want to be a «top dog» in an area where phở places are plentiful(if you know where to look, that is).

Not going back. We sat next to the bathroom. The gentleman who I think is the owner went in there And loudly started hocking up these loud disgusting spit sounds and I did not here any sink turn on. He walked out and I said he didn’t wash his hands as he walked past me. I know he heard me. I instantly lost my appetite and asked for a to go container to see if I could try and enjoy my phở in another setting, tried to pay(they don’t accept Amex) They were Oblivious to the fact that I was a dissatisfied customer.

Been there twice in the past week. The quality of the food and the table-top condiments/implements(chopsticks, spoons, etc.) are great. The first time I got the regular #2 phở which was a perfect size with great broth, fresher-than-usual noodles and a good assortment of meat which was both of high quality and good amount. Came with the perfect amount of lime, jalapeño, royal basil and the freshest bean sprouts I’ve ever seen in a phở place. The second time I tried the beef spicy noodle soup — spicy is right! though not over the top for me, with a nice mix of meat including a cross-cut bone shank piece, softer thicker noodles than in the phở, with finely sliced cabbage(white and red) as well as herbs, etc., on the side plate. I liked both but would give the edge to the phở. The décor is clean, bright and relaxing. The place is already very popular for only being a couple of months in, but on my two visits, seats have been available. Very glad it’s here, I’m a local.

I have been to this restaurant three times, and I would recommend it. The restaurant is plain but attractive and very clean. The service is friendly. They have some long tables for large parties. Here is what I have tried: Spring Rolls(I don’t understand why some Vietnamese restaurants call their fresh rolls«spring rolls» while other restaurants call them«summer rolls.): The fresh rolls are very good. The dipping sauce with chopped peanuts is tastier than most. Phở Ga: They give you three choices, which is a real plus. You can get all white meat, all dark meat, or a combination of the two. I had all white meat. Can’t say I loved it, which is why I’m not giving this place five stars. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt because I tried the soup on the third day they were open. When I try it again, if it’s better, I will give them five stars. Vermicelli with Grill Pork: Very good, but could use a little more sauce. Vermicelli with Grill Shrimp: Excellent. The shrimp are a nice size and are cooked perfectly. They have a nice grilled flavor. Could use a little more sauce, but this dish is as good as or better than I have had anywhere. Give this restaurant a try. We have so few good restaurants in the Aspen Hill area. This one is a keeper.

Got our food to go and the meat was raw, frozen, and bloody. I was going to leave it all out and do without, but the broth was odd tasting and the sprouts were old. Oh well. If I could rate 0 stars I would

First off, I miss phở hung in the giant shopping center. This place is apparently the one that was in white oak. Not sure but that’s the rumor. When we first went to white oak one, it sucked. Should have just learned our lesson right? No. We decided to try it again. Maybe new staff? Who knows but the phở was really salty for my taste and I love salt. Besides the saltiness, it was ok taste wise. The color of the broth however, NOTGOODLOOKING. In the decades that I have had phở, never seen broth so dark and weird looking. Mom said it looked like dirty sewage water haha What bugged me was the cashier who took our order. When we ordered, he didn’t bother asking us what size(in every other place the staff assumes the regular size if not mentioned.)Nope. This guy assumes large. When we asked why the price was higher than calculated, he said oh it is just a little bit more so might as well get the large! WELL. If it is just a little bit more than just give us the large and charge us for the regular?! That’s all for my experience. I don’t believe we will be coming back. Phở 75 forever.

FINALLY a Phở close to my home! It’s delicious and serves other plates in addition to Phở. The only quibble I have is that the language barrier makes ordering very difficult at times but other than that this place is great.

We came here to try out the phở since its close by the home. We both got phở tai with brisket #12, Gia chon, and ice Vietnamese coffee. The food was good and the place is clean with good service! Phở has a good amount of noodles and meat. We’ll come back again.

Spacious and clean place. I had the bun bo hue and it was good. It had just enough veggies and meat and the broth wasn’t too oily. My boyfriend had one of the rice dishes and it was ok, not as good as other places like mi la cay. I think the grilled meat was too thick or chewy in a sense. Service was good and the staffs are very friendly.

Went on opening day & was pleasantly surprised. Food: had phở #2, bun bo hue, bun thit nuong, cha gio. Phở#2 large was well sized with good amount of meat. Flavor of broth was seasoned appropriately(though still doesnt beat homemade phở). Bun bo hue had a good spice to it. Also had good amount of meat. There did seem to be a lil less lemongrass flavor than I’m used to but still something I would get again. Bun thit nuong was probably the weakest… meat seemed a lil on the tougher side but still not bad for aspen hill area. The cha gio had a great balance of flavors including crab as most places lack prob to save money. But it was fried incorrectly as it seemed like the cha gio may have just come out of the fridge to be fried and bc of that, the outside was super dark while the inside could be cooked a few more minutes. I saw another table’s cha gio who ordered it prob an hr after we did & their’s had the nice golden brown. Great local viet place to have in the aspen hill area. Will plan on returning!
