Six of us went to O’Bank’s for a Valentines evening dinner. We canceled reservations at Hanover Tavern when we found out they had a special valentine dinner for $ 45 per person. We had kids with us so that was a non-starter. We ended up at O’Bank’s because it was close to where we happened to be and got 5 stars on Trip Advisor which makes me think rumors of Trip Advisor taking pay offs are true. Either that or O’bank’s is being rated by friends and relatives. On to the appetizer — Calamari was overcooked and rubbery. Entrees consisted of Reuben Sandwiches, big salads and fish and chips. O’Bank’s apparently chops up a decent salad because the dining companions that had salad did not comment. The fish in the fish and chips was not Cod, which is preferable but cheap frozen Pollock. It was soggy and not very crispy at all. Fries were decent. On to the Reuben Sandwiches — you would think a place that has an Irish theme could make a decent corned beef Reuben but you would be wrong. Both sandwiches came out cold. My Reuben did not have any Russian dressing or Thousand Island dressing. After I asked for it the server delivered a little plastic condiment cup full of it. Again, the fries were decent but barely warm. The fries were obviously frozen as well. Our server seemed like a nice young lady but was a little klutzy. She knocked my utensils off of the table and then dropped a small china bowl of shrimp into my plate that was supposed to be delivered to one of one of our dinner companions to top her salad. I tasted the shrimp and they were obviously frozen and just heated up in a microwave. They had absolutely zero seasoning or flavor and were way over-cooked. The server delivered more shrimp for our dinner companion’s salad and I noticed she did not finish her shrimp. The kids ordered desert and I had a taste of something called a Tuxedo Bomb. It was pretty good and I almost considered giving O’Bank’s 3 stars based on the desert but… later in the evening we all had the stomach rumblings and discomfort until morning the next day. We joked that the place should be named OhBowels! There plenty of different kinds of bombs! I forgot to mention that they have a good beer selection and I had a Ray Rays Pale Ale but I’ve been to places that sell a pint of Ray Rays for less which I’m not really complaining about but O’Bowels isn’t exactly the Rainbow Room at 30 Rock when it comes to atmosphere. The tile floors had not been swept in a while and the tables and chairs are pretty beat up. The place is basically a bar with a room for diners and a 8X10 area where they have a band although we did not stay late enough to see«Loose Gravel» play. I was not up for hearing covers of Lynyrd Skynyrd anyway.

Went inside and waited at the front for a good 10 minutes. Left when nobody helped us. Not sure I’f it was a bad night but the place was packed. Maybe I’m not local enough.

Very slow service. We have been here for almost two hours for Sunday«brunch.» Thankfully we ordered my son his food before ours. There are three girls working. There may be about 50 customers here and it looks like no help from a manager anywhere. There is no hostess or bus boy either so these poor waitresses are running around with no help.

Obanks has been my go to place for years for a good burger. Anytime I want a god burger I head to Obanks. It’s located in a little strip mall off sliding hill. Good atmosphere. The crowd during happy hour is mostly middle aged people. Still a good place for a drink and a good meal. The main courses are a little pricey but the quality of food you get is well worth the extra bucks. I rather pay more for good food than less for cheap filler food with who knows what in it. The staff is very friendly and out going. It get pretty crowded so if that doesn’t tell you the food is good I don’t know what will. Friday and Saturday nights they offer live music. During the spring and early summer the best place to be is on their big Deck out front. I would suggest the Mothers day buffet it is very good. The beer selection is good along with the spirits. All in all the experience is great and well worth the trip. PS the sweet potato chips are to die for

We were pleased today with the service and the food. The food was served quickly and it was tasty. Hubs had a Reuben and fries. I had a chopped salad. We will go back for those items.

Every time I come here I think it’s not going to be as good as last time — but I’m wrong. The food is always excellent, there is usually very little or no wait, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The service can be spotty and slow sometimes, but otherwise, this place is great!

Decent American style alternative to a chain. A lot of options. Have only been here during dinner and have had good luck so far. Good salads, sandwiches, fried oysters. Good service, cute interior. Outdoor seating.

The food is good but the service is sooooo slow. And the waitstaff doesn’t seem to have any sense of urgency. We asked for drink refills and didn’t get them. Not sure I’ll come again.

I’ve only been here twice, but both times I had something so delicious, and so perfectly prepared that it left me thinking about its perfection for days! The first time, it was the salmon that left my mouth watering for more. And during my most recent visit, I made the stellar decision of ordering the«chocolate tuxedo bomb» and it was one of the best things I ever put in my mouth! Oh, my dear GOODNESS! I will go back there just for that dessert! p. s. — Heather M. is a great server! ;-)

Decent Irish pub. Service was fast. Seemed to be very family friendly and had outdoor seating. The Spinach salad was limp, the fish and chips were made from frozen fish. So Restaurant Impossible would not approve.

Off the beaten path but well worth it. They are in a small strip mall, but don’t let that keep you away. Everything we had was fantastic and reasonably priced. Great, great, great. I’m coming back.

Very friendly service and good food. The traditional pub fare entrées are excellent. The veg are fresh and the flavors of the food are not overpowered by seasoning or cooking. The location is busy, but you can still hold a conversation comfortably. In fact, comfort is the best descriptor for O’Banks – comfortable seating, comfortable atmosphere, comfort food. Good beer selection. Seafood. Steaks and prime rib. Nightly specials. Diverse menu selections. Staff is very accommodating. Pepsi products. OK for kids.

O’Banks had a special Mothers Day brunch today that had a buffet style meal featuring, a roast beef carving station, and omelt station, and a bar filled with french toast, sausage, eggs, corn, bacon and home fried potatoes. There was also a fresh fruit bowl and dessert bar with chocolate mousse cake, coffee cake, and cookies. Everything I sampled was good. The beef with spicy mustard, and baked ham were really good, and the best dessert by far was the chocolate mousse cake. I topped it all off with a mimosa. Perfect meal for mothers day! The staf was their usual friendly group. We know the owner and several of the servers so we had a great conversation with everyone. Its my understanding they do brunch every sunday from 11am — wpm, so I think we will be back soon.

Called to place a take out order Wednesday afternoon and got a voicemail box. Tried a few more times, to no avail. So we called somewhere else. IMHO, don’t offer take out and send customers to voicemail. It is very bad customer service.

Mediocre, greasy breakfast food at cheap prices. I have not been for lunch or dinner yet. I’ve been here twice now, both times for breakfast. Today I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which was served with home fries. The sandwich was pretty good, with two eggs, ham, and two slices of cheese, They definitely skimped on the home fries, but good price at 5.95. My mom created her own omlet with healthy ingredients, but said it was incredibly buttery, as was the english muffin that was served with it. It too was a good price at 5.95. The coffee just plain sucked, sorry. Tasted burnt. The space is casual and room with large banquet room in the back and a big patio in the front. Definitely nicer on the inside then what you might be lead to believe by the somewhat industrial building in which it is located. They apparently have a good deal of live music, which given the location is a bit odd. Our server was a little quacky, but prompt. I would definitely consider coming back sometime for dinner and beer. They have different dinner specials every night and a nice beer selection with local brews on tap.

Made a stop driving north on the 95. It was easy to access, right off the highway. The mixed reviews had me in doubt but I’m glad to report we had no complaints with our meal. The service was fast and friendly, the food was prepared fresh and generously portioned, and it was pretty good eats. We were back on the road in no time, and so much happier than if we’d had fast food. Thanks!
