If you’re in Richmond and want to experience a REAL Arby’s, this is the place to go. Not associated with the franchise that owns all the other locations in the metro Richmond area, this family-owned Arby’s has the«normal» menu, and some reasonable prices and great service to go with it. The same faces have been working behind that counter since I was a little kid. They’re always friendly and genuinely appreciative of my business. The food is fresh, served quickly, and I don’t have to search through a tiny printed menu full of paninis and turkey sandwiches to find the roast beef. The drive-thru isn’t always open– usually just for lunch and again for dinner– but most of the locals know that. Highly recommended, as far as fast food joints go.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Arby’s beef is all grassfed now. I’m surprised they’re not promoting this with an ad campaign but I will definitely patron the one closer to my home more often. Update 5÷19÷2015: I’m sharing what I learned from a fellow Unilocaler from Ashland. According to him, the grassfed beef option has been local to the Richmond area for a few years, although, the Ashland Arby’s I had visited is the only«real» Arby’s, meaning, it doesn’t offer the«hodgepodge» of offerings, e.g., turkey products, steamed broccoli, paninis, burritos, etc., like the Richmond franchise«The Restaurant Company»(TRC) does. I’d have to confirm whether or not grassfed beef is offered at the Arby’s up here. Haven’t been to one since my review of the Ashland Arby’s.
