W XYZ Bar

Hilarious people watching– nice when you are dressed, fantastic bartenders and cocktail servers (Kristen) was especially great… It’s a hotel bar, thus the lower rating, because of the random train wrecks, but otherwise an awesome place to have celebrations. Watch out for the chubby guy dancing’s girl

I liked this little bar, bartender super sweet, pretty good drink selection, liked the balcony overlooking the street. I like Aloft Hotels because the staff is usually top rate and this guys were no exception. Can’t remember the great dark haired girls name at the front desk, but you’ve helped me on my last 3 visits and you are always super chill! Thanks!

Hip spot to imbibe and/​or meet people in a central and upbeat locale.
On the terrace there’s a nice vibe, with comfy seats that overlook the peregrinations of people and cars below…
Friendly staff. Nice bar to just relax and sip and gab.

just had cocktails… good but not great… slow service

Granted, we were there on a weeknight, but this place just might be a little hidden gem. A bar is only as good as the person behind it making drinks, and we got a winner the night we went. He made me an old-​fashioned that was every bit as good as those I get at Sazerac, and that’s really saying something. The seating is a little odd, tough to find just a normal chair sitting around.
Would be awesome to sit outside on the balcony, but the night we went it was closed because it was cold and raining.

Sleek, sophisticated and classy the W XYZ lounge is a trendy spot for a nice drink in downtown Asheville. Just a short walk up from the hotel lobby, you enter the bright, stylish and über-​modern lounge with outdoor terrace. Cozy up to the bar to order a kiwi cocktail or in my case, a sour apple and cucumber martini that will set you back a cool $ 10 bucks. Having just opened, the bartenders are still getting used to the menu and setup, so be prepared to wait awhile, just bask in the lightly thumping music and glowing backlit bar. Even though the inside of the lounge is a great place to sit and enjoy a drink, outside on the terrace is where W XYZ really shines. As one of the few places in downtown Asheville where you can lounge outside while taking in the sights on Biltmore Ave, this is the hot place to be. Definitely recommend W XYZ as an upscale bar to enjoy a classy drink.
