My favorite yellow curry in Asheville. The dinner portion will feed two. Very unassuming but clean location. Try it!

Good food. Sadly, the person at the register could not be bothered to give me my check and told me to come to the register when I asked for my bill. The restaurant had 2 people in it. My son and me. That attitude really put me off.

The Thai is tops! We entered at 6:30 on a Friday night and had no line, though a steady stream of pickup orders was occurring. Mussaman, green curry, and veggie stir fry meals all got two thumbs from this family. Quick, hot, and way too much(buy one and share). Friendly staff. Call in or sit in the tiny diner. Would surely repeat visit when in the area.

This place has some strong food. We had the spring rolls, pad thai, yellow curry and stir fry veggies. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Very good food, not quite 5* good, but really solid. Big ups to the waitress pulling triple duty(hostess, waitress, cashier/take-out) while maintaining great and timely service.

Exceptional food. Smaller menu but what they do have, they do very well. The Pineapple Fried Rice is delicious and freshly prepared. The Stay Chicken is also recommended. Great little hole in the wall!

A big fan of this very tiny place. Service and taste was right on point. It looked like I was going into someone’s home. I recommend visiting.

I’m very happy with Thai To Go. Especially seeming how Asheville lacks a good Thai restaurant. Lots of flavor and quick. I would recommend them to all of my Bent Creek friends.

Get ready to drop some mad taste buds for this restaurant, because it will be love at first bite. This has been my go-to lunch restaurant for the past month, and that’s saying a lot since I usually get bored eating from the same restaurant time after time. I later found out that their appetizers(steamed dumplings) are hand prepared. No wonder everything looks and tastes fresh. For those of you who like your food handled extra spicy, Thai To Go has got you covered. Their spice level ranges from mild — medium — hot — very hot — all the way to Thai hot. I started out rather conservatively at ‘medium’, and found it paired well with the noodles. It did not compete with the other mouth watering seasonings, and really complimented the meal. However, ever since I advanced to ‘hot’ there is no going back. I may even be ready for that very hot ;) Lunch portions are just right… And the best part is the price. $ 6.95 for a lunch meal, including protein! I’ve tried just about every item on the lunch menu and I will say that the Thai fried rice is my favorite. Of course, you can’t go wrong with the Pad Thai. The only downside is the lack of ample parking and seating. There’s only enough parking for about 8 cars, and that’s with makeshift parking spots. Not to mention Thai To Go shares the parking spots with it’s neighboring establishments. This place is definitely more take-out friendly. I’ve seen people come in hoping to have a nice sit down lunch only to leave after finding the place at maximum capacity which is really a pity! Also, for those of you visiting the Asheville Outlets, I highly highly recommend Thai To Go. For those of you who may have trouble finding it, it is in the«block» right next to Subway.

It’s close by… I love Thai food, so I was hoping for better. I’ve tried quite a few items that I usually like elsewhere… but not here. The use of frozen mixed veggies in the entrees bugs me and they are largely sauce. I can only recommend the appetizers. They seem to be pretty good.

I tried this place for the first time yesterday. I wasn’t expecting a lot, given my recent attempts at Thai Food in the area. The cashier, Rebecca was very friendly. I saw her checking in on people and she offered me a glass of water while I waited(always points in my book). She made conversation with me while I waited vs. stand behind the counter ignoring me. When I got home, my husband and I dug into our Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken and our Panang Beef and were both very pleasantly surprised! The food was DELICIOUS. So much like what I was used to in California in Thai Town. The curry was very flavorful, not watery and everything was made fresh. The rice was incredibly tasty. I am thrilled to find this place so close to where I live. I actually called them to tell them how happy I was with the food. Very authentic, very fresh and definitely worth checking out. Prices were also very reasonable. About $ 6.95 a lunch portion. I REALLYWISHTHEYWEREOPENFORSATURDAY. At least for dinner. That’s my takeout dinner night!

Ordered drunken noodles with tofu to go. There were small pieces of chicken in it. Even if there hadn’t been chicken, it was still bad. The Thai iced tea was good. That’s all I need to say.

The pad Thai and drunken noodles are both yummy and the portions are generous. Be sure to try their seasoned soy sauce(served in a set with the chili sauce) – it’s not too spicy and adds a great shot of flavor to everything. The restaurant is clean with limited seating and very friendly service. Would definitely visit again.

Glad to have found this place. Our order was ready for pickup when I got there, the cashier was extremely pleasant, and the place looked very, very clean. There were a few tables for inside dining, and a board listing lunch specials, but this is primarily a take-out place(hence the name). We ordered spring rolls, green curry with chicken(medium), and pineapple fried rice with chicken(medium). The spring rolls were great, crispy, and not too greasy. Both the curry and the rice dish were spiced appropriately as ordered, had plenty of chicken in them, and were very good. The portions were quite large, leaving plenty for another meal. My only complaint, which is just my personal taste, is that I am not a big fan of fish sauce and they seemed to use this with a heavy hand in both entrees. I will definitely order again, however, and ask if they can leave out the fish sauce, although I suspect the curry sauces are prepared ahead of time.

What a gem! Small and quaint away from the busy shopping district. Only room inside for six tables, but after tasting the authentic thai cuisine I’m surprised it’s not full all the time. Best thai food since leaving bangkok. We will definitely come back here! Wow

Saw the sign last year and gave the place about two weeks. A year later it was still there so I checked out Unilocal and urban spoon and was surprised by the almost universal acclaim. Ordered take out consisting of Tom Kha Gai, Pad Thai, and Red Curry. It was all great food but it suffered from a sort of «cleanness» endemic to Thai food in areas where there’s not a Thai population(this extends to all ethnic food I think). There were no inedible chunks of lemon grass or lime leaf in the Tom Kha Gai. The Pad Thai had a nicely sculpted sweet/savory/salty profile although I missed the expected bean sprout garnish. The Red Curry was also great but lacked pineapple to really fill out the spectrum. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious and I’ll definitely get it again but it seemed dumbed down. Anyway, great food, definitely my new Thai spot in Asheville.

We really enjoyed the Pad Thai — got it in our take out order. Would definitely order it again. We also liked their panang curry but it wasn’t our favorite version. It was good — worth trying if you like panang curry. That’s all we ever order at any thai place so I can’t speak to anything else on the menu. Overall great convenient place to get to-go or if just for two can also dine in in their lovely dining area. We will be back! Great service as well!

A fairly new addition to West Asheville, Thai To Go is the new go-to Thai place for me and the family when I’m in town visiting. There are so few quality Asian cuisine options in the area(without venturing downtown), so we were happy to see this place pop up. There are a few seating options available, but i recommend just ordering takeout. I mean, «To Go» is in the name. This isn’t the best Thai you will ever have, but it certainly isn’t the worst. It’s quite good and satisfies a craving when you don’t want to drive all over town. If you consider yourself a foodie, this isn’t one of those hole-in-the-wall gems that you’ll want to go out of your way to visit, so don’t expect to be transported to Thailand. It’s average but good average. And the best option available for the area. I always get the Panang Curry because it’s my fav no matter where I go. And it’s good here. I can’t speak to the other dishes, but my parents seem to enjoy their dishes too, and they always get different things to try. I recommend trying it if you’re looking for Thai nearby.

We had take-out last night from the newish Thai To Go on Sardis Road near Brevard Road in West Asheville. Bottom line is this place has potential and glad to have it out west. The steamed dumplings were terrific, tasty, perfectly cooked and even nicely put together and presented. Best in town. The fried spring rolls were very good, too. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken just to compare it to the other Thai places in town, and we thought it was just ordinary. Perhaps a little pricey, and very bland. Wasn’t excited by the chicken fried rice, either, very bland, but then I personally don’t care for fried rice. We had another chicken dish, not sure what it’s called, that was mostly carrots. All three of these dishes were helped by healthy dollops of Sriracha, even though one was ordered«Thai hot» and the others medium. In part I think our reaction was based on not ordering more of a variety of dishes, instead of chicken(they didn’t have beef and I think shrimp were pricey). Next time we’ll try one of the curries, which seem to get good reports, and I’ll definitely do the dumplings and spring rolls again. And, oh, the accompanying jasmine rice was cooked perfectly. With tax and tip the meal came to around $ 50, a little pricey for take-out for two, though we had leftovers for a second meal. Again, glad to see more Asian food out this way — this new spot and the new China Grill — and I’ll definitely go back for take-out to both places. Good luck to them!

Have driven by this place for the last month, I finally tried it for lunch — take out. WOW! There was a line for pick up when I walked in and I knew one of the guys in line. He said«everything is great, you can’t go wrong. Put the menu on the wall and throw a dart at it. Its that good here.» I ordered the Pad Thai chicken noodle bowl dish –medium in spice. I was informed I would have to wait 20 minutes for they were so backed up in the kitchen. I replied –no problem. While I waited, there was a steady stream of customers coming in. I spoke with 2 ladies and they said«this place is awesome! We eat here every other day!» I took my order when the 20 minutes came and headed to the house. This dish was awesome! With fresh vegetables, enough chicken proportioned to the dish and the flavor and spices made for an exceptional meal! The price was reasonable as well; under $ 8.00 for the dish. I will be back and will share this place with my good friends!
