Shipley’s Ethan Allen Gallery

I love this store and the staff. I walk in the store and everyone greets me warmly and treats me like family. It’s been my privilege to work with Charlotte Parent-​James in furnishing my house from beds to window treatments to rugs to 2 living rooms. She’s full of ideas and listens to me and my concerns. She seems to know exactly what will work best for me. She’s even helped me with getting my existing artwork hung and made suggestions for new pieces. I love my new home and the beautiful furniture and fabrics that we’ve chosen together. I couldn’t have done this without the help from everyone at Shipley’s Ethan Allen.

I just furnished five rooms and a foyer from Shipley’s Ethan Allen. The staff has been wonderful to work with. Susie the designer has been nothing but helpful and knowledgeable. I was looking for traditional, well-​made, high-​end furniture. I found all that at this store in beautiful styles and hundreds of fabric books to choose from. It was a library of books well organized by color and type of fabric and took up most of a whole wall. I was glad I had my interior designer with me. My finished product is beautiful.
If you want cheaper, less classy pieces, and uncaring employees go to a company owned store. (I went to one in Knoxville and didn’t see anything I’d have and there wasn’t even a designer to help us just a sales clerk.)
This family owned store couldn’t be better. They deliver to Johnson City, TN which is a good hour away over the mountain into TN for their standard delivery charge. The delivery guys were excellent, very careful, and even hung my mirror. I had an issue with a mark on piece and they changed it out for another one. Everything was made custom with my choice of fabric. I couldn’t be happier.

Ethan Ellen is a nice luxorious furniture store but honestly is the ugliest furniture store I have ever seen. It has no modern furniture. Before my first vizit I was eager to see it and I had my hopes high for this store as I am looking for nice modern furniture for myself but once I walked in and saw their products my whole vizitation I said eww. The furniture is somewhat 1900 style. If you like this style then this store is your paradise.
