Such a lovely venue. Beautiful courtyard, live acoustic musician, incredible food. We were told by the shuttle driver that many of estate gardens and farms provide ingredients for the on site Biltmore restaurants. The Saturday buffet did not disappoint!

As a passholder I enjoy going to the Biltmore regularly. The last time I went to Deerpark was in 2013 and I believe that review is still on here. I vowed never to eat here again, but I thought maybe after 2+ years things may be better. WRONG. We decided to go to Deerpark for Easter Brunch this year. Big mistake. They removed the nice tables and chairs and set up banquet tables(one collapsed on a guest) and it was more like herding the cattle than an elegant brunch. I would have enjoyed talking to my family during the meal, but they had live music going and it was very loud. I had to shout across the table. The food was horrible. I tried a small bit of most things, but just ended up eating the prime rib and pickles. Everything else was terrible. Aside from the bad food the service was horrible. I got up twice to refill my own water after waiting 15 – 20 minutes for the server to reappear. My mother ordered coffee with her desert but the server went MIA for another 20 minutes. When she came back she said«Oh I didn’t forget your coffee I will go get it.», however we were done and over the whole experience. In the middle of eating they began to tear down the room. Guess they were ready to go home so we got to watch them take everything down while we ate. LAME. Tourist probably don’t know any better but my advice is skip it and eat at Cedric’s Tavern. Better food, better price, and way better service.

We came here for a wedding and the venue was breathtaking. It was intimate and beautiful. The ceremony took place outside in the courtyard and cocktail hour was inside towards the front of the building. Dinner was spectacular. Each course was better than the one before. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. I would definitely come back here for dinner based on our experience!

How did I not Unilocal about this yet!!! Deerpark Restaurant at the Biltmore Estate gave me the best Saturday lunch buffet of my life! It was also my best dining experience in during my foodie tour of Asheville: D Not only was it an absolute steal at $~22, the quality and quantity of food was top-notch. I had looked at the breakfast at the Inn at Biltmore, and it did not even compare. Deerpark Restaurant lunch buffet exceeds any lunch/brunch experiences I’ve had in DC that are double the cost. First, the restaurant is in this beautiful barn like setting overlooking a serene courtyard When I was there, I even saw a family visiting the venue because they were planning to host a wedding there. I loved the string of white lights they put on the ceiling that gave it a very charming romantic feel even though it was day. We had such a nice table right next to the courtyard window and our table was positioned so that we faced the courtyard as we sat next to each other. Next, the service was great, and there was live music on a Saturday. I really appreciated this aspect because I’ve had the experience where it gets too obnoxiously loud because of live music(such as Commander’s place jazz brunch in New Orleans, but the live music at Deerpark was perfect and served as relaxing background music and did not intrude in any intimate conversations or a slow sunny day lunch. The food was phenomenon. I really LOVED the salmon station and pesto they had that day. The pesto was the best I’ve had, and even though I’m going to Italy to the area where pesto originated, I do not think it will compete with the pesto at Deerpark. Although I would have preferred just fresh cut fruit, they had other alternatives of fruit cups, salads, breads, desserts. Make sure you make reservations because I saw others were turned away at the end of lunch at 2PM because they had not reserved like we did. Even though we came at the end of the lunch hours, they continued to replenish the hot foods which I really appreciated.

I definitely agree with the other Unilocal reviews — Saturday lunch buffet here at Deerpark is definitely the best bang for your buck within the generally overpriced Biltmore estate. We didn’t make reservations, and waited about 20 minutes when we arrived at 1PM. It appeared that others who had made reservations ahead of time, still had to wait 15 – 20 minutes anyways. The restaurant is in one of the old Biltmore barns and has beautiful high ceilings with pretty twinkling lights strung up around the struts. I honestly loved every single food item I tried at the buffet. The salmon was flaky and tender, the meatloaf was still hot with a yummy sauce. Other favorites I tried include: broccoli and cheese casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, collard greens(Although my husband was not a fan that they were a little bit sour, but that’s just how collard greens usually are). I actually got the fried chicken and waffle +syrup TWICE(that’s precious stomach capacity there) because it was so delicious. Desserts: I loved the cheesecake, pear almond financier, and fruit salad(poached pear, blueberry, dates). The food goes pretty fast so the only drawback is that we had to wait for them to come out with the cornbread, apple cobbler, and meatloaf a few times. Service was lovely and our waitress gave me and my mother-in-law our own teapots of hot water. I highly recommend Saturday lunch here for $ 20 per person — on Sundays the price goes up to $ 30.

My wife and I had such a fantastic Sunday Brunch experience here. The food is simply beyond wonderful. The chef, Jesse Helm, is so talented. This restaurant is a hidden gem!

We ate here about a year ago and it was a true-five-star event. This time, just not there. The presentation of the buffet in a vacuous space made it look unfinished and having to walk through the restaurant lobby with plate-in-hand was unseemly. The selection was significantly less than last year and the quality seemed a little sub par to me; my wife feels the food was as good. I would have chosen 3-star, but the family voted it to 4-star(still a step down from last’s year). I hope they rethink this place and bring it back to where it was a year ago.

Hands-down one of the absolute best group lunch buffet options out there. If you’re going to the Biltmore estate you have to come here. The food is gourmet and local and just fantastic. Everyone will leave with a smile on their face and a full belly.

Just visited this past Saturday — everything was wonderful! Service was prompt and friendly. Live bluegrass duo playing festive holiday music was lots of fun. Food was delicious(prime rib was great, olive oil cauliflower was SOOOOO good, and let’s not forget about the desserts!). We had an early lunch so the buffet line crowds were minimal. Depending on your table location the walk to the buffet can be a bit far. Overall a beautiful location both inside and out.

the food was excellent. The service was extremely poor. We waited five minutes for the waitress to even come over to take our drink order. She said she was having problems with the computer, and would disappear for long periods of time, leaving our glasses empty.(the other waitresses out were very good to their tables, and didn’t seem to have computer issues. The food was very good. I took 3 people there to celebrate one’s birthday, and we left disappointed and the bill was still very expensive. I would want the service to be improved before we would return. It was completely unacceptable.

I am really torn on writing a review for this place. We visited on Thanksgiving for the buffet, and I can tell you you without reservation that the food was spectacular. The problem was they looked like rookies running this place. We had a reservation, but arrived to stand in a long long and be told the wait was 30 minutes to an hour. Then we were told to go to the courtyard and wait– there want a system for them to page or locate you. Well, after 40 minutes– we grabbed a lady and she found us a table, but we have no idea if it was our time or not. Very poorly managed. There was a cash bar setup and the bartender was rude and unprofessional. With that being said, our waitress was wonderful. Sadly, they started running out of food and putting whatever they could find out there. The dessert table was complete garbage– avoid it. They also ran out of crab claws and shrimp — which is the big ticket item and why they can charge so much. I would still suggest a visit, just either come during normal hours(and not a holiday), or arrive when they open. Once again, hats off to the chef(s) as they prepared wonderful food.

The family ate Sunday brunch here. There were more culinary delights than my taste buds could handle. The salmon bacon, cous cous, roasted red pepper dip, roasted beet salad, just to name a few of my favorites, we’re very delicious. I also had a Deer park Sangria, very flavorful and fruity. Chef BP is my son and he is awesome. I can tell you that this kitchen really cares about putting out wholesome and good tasting food. The buffet had options for every kind of diet, ie. Vegan, non gluton, etc.

I ate and I ate some more. When I could not eat anymore I took one more bite. The day was idyllic and the sun tricked into the courtyard with a perfect breeze. The dining area is very beautifully done with white cotton table cloths, big open space looking out into a pretty courtyard with benches, trees, flowers and other courtyard stuff. This is a pricy but really fantastic brunch spot. I may have eaten mostly desert with a side of salad and bacon. I didn’t feel too guilty because breakfast and dessert are practically the same thing. There was some kind of custard thing in a cup with passion fruit compote. I could have eaten five of those but I stopped at two. Other than dessert there was a meat line with brisket, smoked turkey, baked salmon, poached eggs in something amazing and I’m sure I’m forgetting something. There was an omelette bar with build your own waffles. A salad bar with Spanish style charcuterie things. A table with breads and another table with salads and soups. Did I mention the massive amount of desserts? This place is decadent and wonderful with a perfectly peaceful setting. While it cost the prettiest penny it’s really worth it. The food is great and the service is nice. Next time I have visitors from out of town I’m definitely taking them there.

The food was really good but the service was better! It’s so nice when a server takes time to talk with you and give you history of the place that you are eating! And the atmosphere was gorgeous and serene.

Delicious food, and wonderful ambience! We went for the lunch buffet. The lunch buffet was well worth the price of 22.95. It’s a little far removed from other areas on the Biltmore Estate but it’s worth it to venture away.

My wonderful parents treated my husband and me to this wonderful buffet and we had a splendid time! The quality of the food and the presentation was outstanding! Everything was beautiful and clean. Not to mention the food was delicious! They have quite a spread — salads, meats, veggies, soup, breads, cooked veggies, pasta and many desserts! I particularly enjoyed the pork loin and the braised carrots. I would absolutely go back to this buffet again and again!

Personally I think this is the most underrated dining option at Biltmore Estate. For $ 18.95(including tea), you will not find a better bargain for lunch. Unfortunately this is only for Saturdays(11 – 2), because on Sundays they offer this as a «brunch» for $ 32.95. Quite honestly I cannot tell much difference on their menu offering, thus making the price difference very hard to justisfy. They offer seasonal menu, which is posted on their website. In December, I visited along with 11 other people during the Christmas season; this past weekend they have already changed over to the«Winter» menu with different items. The ambience and the presentation at Deerpark is rustic and delightful. I love the open barn look and the strings of lights. The service overall is great, while at times it can be slow(especially during our large group visit). Food itself is excellent, especially for the price. Considering a burger will set you back $ 15+ at their«casual dining» restaurant, $ 19 will get you a salad bar, soup, several entrees and southern side items, AND exquisite desserts. I am not a sweet tooth, but they offer the cutest mini dessert items, you can’t help but want to eat them all. Remember passholders receive 10% discount on dining(15% during the Passholder Appreciation period — which is until March 1, 2015). The bill for the 2 of us was $ 34(with discount) — BARGAIN! ** Planning tips: Decide when you will tour the house — if you tour house 1st thing, you can reserve late seating for lunch; or eat 1st at 11ish am, and have rest of day for touring around Biltmore. Trust me, you won’t need to eat again until dinner if you stuff yourself at lunch.

The food was very delicious but not A very wide range for a picky eater. The food is a bit fancy with a lot of different ingredients. Maybe not too kid friendly. They have beautiful desserts and delicious meats. The prime rib was delicious there turkey was excellent they had a really nice pickles mashed potatoes and a wide assortment of breads. The restaurant is gorgeous it is set in a barn like environment dining hall.

The ambiance is wonderful. The food — I wasn’t as impressed. It wasn’t bad, but for all the reviews, only a few items were true standouts. This review is for the lunch buffet. The cheese plate was very lacking. First time I went up it was empty… they refilled and nothing really beyond cheddar, manchego was evident. The salad table was OK. They had a kale salad I really enjoyed, but everything else was just meh. The main dishes… they had fried chicken(good) and brisket(fatty). They also had a fish dish that I didn’t try. What really stood out were the desserts. Homemade nutter butters, lemon tarts, rhubarb pie, Oh My. It was delicious. I’m going to say that on a sliding scale of value — probably 4 starts… the buffet is 18 bucks and you can easily drop that in the food court for one person. But the food itself wasn’t all that and a bag of chips.

Deerpark is simply beautiful. The facility itself is charming and a wonderful place to spend a meal time. The waitress was busy, but polite. Drinks were brought in a timely manner. The buffet was set up on several different tables, and she took the time to explain what food items could be found on each one. She also checked back several times despite the food being self served, which was bonus points as far as I was concerned. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, eggs were delicious, and french toast was some of the best I’ve ever had. The buffet was delicious and well worth the price of the check. I know several friends who have season passes so they can eat at the many restaurants on the estate. Deerpark is a definite can’t miss!
