Conveniently located across the street from 12 Bones, this three shop stop makes for the perfect lunch and art tour in the arts district. Curve studios consists of three buildings(#12, #6 and #9, which is two stories). Building 12, on the left when facing the compound, consists of three pottery and ceramic artists. Building 6, on the right, houses another three artists with items ranging from jewelry to knit, fabrics, quilts, scarves and even some woman’s apparel. Building 9, the largest and middle building, houses three artists on bottom that showcase jewelry, ceramics, metal work and pottery. Upstairs you’ll find an awesome chair shop, the Silver River Center for Chair Caning. I really enjoy the beauty of Curve Studios as well as the beautiful gardens that surround the studios and which display some of the working artists work. Plus, these are WORKING studios, so you’ll be able to see artists at work when you stop by, which is both inspiring and gives a real understanding of the time and work that goes into these talents.

Totally enjoyed our visit to this art space and the garden – although we did not get to enjoy that aspect fully, since it was raining. Really interesting enamels studio on the first floor and great textiles operations going on upstairs(don’t miss the entrance the second floor; it’s not completely obvious!). Like many of the studios in this area, it’s another beautiful example of adaptive reuse of an industrial space.
