OPA! Mezze Grill

Very happy to have found this place through Unilocal!I would consider it a hidden gem because I probably wouldn’t have stumbled in otherwise.
We had the Opa! Fries which were SO delicious. The combo of feta and their dressing on crispy fries is to die for. I had the Chicago gyro which was also great.
The owners are friendly. I love a restaurant that feels genuine and has pleasant atmosphere!

Chicago Gyro was delicious! I’ll definitely be back to try more.

Noticed a review by Christine R. from January of last year complaining about her food being in a half inch of «grease». All I can say is I WISH my food came with half an inch of that delicious dressing their meat is served in (though all kidding aside, the picture she shared of a half eaten meal barely had a tenth of an inch of that dressing). To my knowledge, it’s olive oil, (lemon?) and spices… all of which I can never get enough of. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
In any case, I could go on and on about how much I adore this little gem of a restaurant. From the adorable owners down to just about everything I have ever had to eat here, this place just gets it right time and time again for me. Standouts are the brizola hirini (aka– the best pork chops I’ve ever had), the Opa! Gyro, and the lamb kapama.
If you’re looking for authentic Greek cuisine, you owe it to yourself to stop by this place. Fair chance you’ll fall in love just as I did years ago.

As expected, very nice menu of Greek specialities, came for lunch for first time today.
Was disappointed in portion size and prices.
Taste was ok, I prefer CafeSano in Reston.

Had a Chicago Gyro here… It was great and the produce in it was super fresh… The young lady who took my order was friendly and the place itself was super clean!

As a Greek guy I really like them for their Opa gyro. It’s very close to the kind you get in Greece so I appreciate that. Overall the food is pretty good, just lacks some seasoning in my opinion. Nothing a little more salt couldn’t solve.

I am from Europe and love me some Greek food.
This is by far the best Greek food I have had moving to the states.
The sample appetizer is great as u can try lots of different things.
The Gyro is very authentic as everything else on the menu. Big portions for sure!
Of u look for something different to eat this is ur place to go!
As long as they open I will be a customer for sure!

I came across this restaurant randomly. The food wasn’t bad but you don’t really get what you pay for. The portions were very small for the price paid!

I had moved to Ashburn recently from WI and have never had Greek food before. After trying Opa Mezze Grill, I am hooked. I went for lunch and ordered the Opa Gyro w/​fries. The fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. They were seasoned perfectly. The gyro itself was also amazing. I took a bite before I could get a picture though. As for service, it was also amazing. I had Yulia as a waitress. She was kind and attentive. Definitely ask for her if she’s working. All in all, you won’t be disappointed. I’m thinking about going back for dinner either tonight or tomorrow night to try some of their entrees and possibly an appetizer.

Good Greek food. Real Greek owners. Opa! Lamb was excellent. But this isn’t cordon bleu. Still, I have gone back.

Wouldn’t know what the food tastes like cause the delivery driver has yet to show up. Let’s see… Going on 1.5 hours now. So disappointed. Don’t offer delivery if you can get it right

Best thing about our pre-​flight overnight in otherwise over-​developed Ashburn. We braved the traffic to get to a place highly thought of by local Unilocalers. Glad we did.
Warm, attentive service. Good vegetable lentil soup. Numerous Greek beer and wine choices. Very nice juicy lamb burger with feta and tzatziki. My dining companion enjoyed her Greek salad.

Their gyros are amazing!!! Off the chain!!! I can’t wait to come again!!! Better than that were the owners. They are so sweet and kind!

Just had lunch here for the first time and it was delicious! We had the zucchini fritters which were amazing and I had the Opa! gyro. highly recommend this place

Food is delicious!!! I won’t go anywhere else from now on.
The waitress who served us was also very good.

This place is pretty much gold. The food is amazing. Recommend ordering the hummus:)
The only con I would probably mention is that this is a small (tiny) restaurant so you should probably account for that.

So delicious! Glad I stopped in to try their dips and Greek salad with chicken which was seasoned to perfection. Can’t wait to go back to try their Gyro next time.

Came here with some girlfriends on a Monday night.
The place is very small but the owners are very sweet and the food is delicious! The only disappointment is the drink list. If you want wine by the glass you have only one option in white and two options in red. So ended up getting beer instead.
For appetizer we got a feta and roasted jalapeño dip (with pita) which was delicious. For dinner I had the Chicago Gyro which was fantastic. I only wish it had had more tzatziki sauce! One of my friends got a sampler platter which looked great and my other friend got a phyllo pastry dough filled with spinach which also looked great. Not any good dessert options which was a bummer.
Will def come back soon!

Not sure what went wrong here. We placed an order for carry out — maybe that was it? Our meals were 1. incomplete and 2. DROWNING in grease. Absolutely disgusting. Especially for what it cost and the distance it took to pick it up. BOTH our meals were missing our Greek side salads. Maybe my husband should have taken a cue when he had to ask for yogurt sauce and pita. Call me crazy but I’m pretty sure it’s standard that 3 slivers of tiny pita bread and one serving of yogurt sauce comes with a dinner plate of chicken kabobs and a meat platter trio, no?
Regardless I’ve «heard» great things about this place but our experience was horrible. I’ve attached a photo of my husbands meal. He was starving so he ate it even though the entire meal was COVERED in grease. I definitely would not recommend this place at all. Sorry we chose this place for dinner. NOT WORTH IT. GROSS!

No where on your menu does it mention a Greek dressing was included or even was to be drizzled over the entire meal. IT’S TAKE OUT! If anything this dressing (not mentioned anywhere in the description) should have been placed in a container to be added by the customer when they return home. PLUS the meal had fries ALL of which were soaked in this dressing (grease) and pretty much had to be tossed. For $ 20+ this meal was an absolute mistake.
FYI here is the menu description of what was ordered. Show me where it mentions anything about dressing being poured over the entire meal:
Chicken Skewer, Pork Skewer, OPA! Burger Meat, OPA! Gyro Meat, Chicago Gyro Meat, OPA! Fries, Pita and Tzatziki.
Sorry, but for a business to serve something so terrible and not try to make it right is inexcusable.

You’re right, I will never be satisfied with bad food or bad customer service. Thank you for showing the world how unprofessional you are and what a disgusting personality you have.

I have been here more times than I can count and I have NEVER had a bad experience. I can’t stay away because their food is SO good. I can say with complete honesty that they have the best hummus I have ever eaten in my life. Their pita bread is so fresh and delicious as well! I usually go and get just the pita & hummus for a meal. Their gyros are also some of the best I’ve had with fresh and tasty tzatziki sauce!
I also have to mention their zucchini fritters. If you think you hate zucchini order them anyway– that’s how good they are.
My only complaint is that they don’t sell their hummus by the container to take home! I would buy it fresh every week if they did!
