Nova Urgent Care

First time was great. Near home and open on weekends… Thought I found a gem. Was taught a valuable lesson in judging too soon.
Agree with others that they are very slow. Worse yet, they don’t even try to communicate with you about the wait. and once in the room… completely ignore you until they are ready. Isn’t that the point of a staff… to provide customer service?
Beyond timing, I feel I was rushed and more importantly my diagnosis was rushed.
Dr. Ryun Lee saw me for less than 5 min and prescribed medication that I would need to take on a long term basis… later after seeking counsel from other medical practitioners… I was advised to not take the medication and to monitor my diagnostics before jumping to such an extreme measure. Initially when she prescribed medication I asked if I could start non medicated measures to lower my condition… And she basically said… youre here cause it’s too late… No discussion no options. And I felt her response and attitude were quite unprofessional.
The proximity is not worth the lack in care, concern, service, or manners… let alone lack in medical advice.
Go somewhere else and save yourself from needing a headache specialist later!

This is the first negative review I have ever written on Unilocal,let alone any other website, but I feel compelled to share my family’s experience with Dr. Dawna Rogers and her staff.
We have moved a lot so have had experience with many doctors in many different practices. This was BY FAR the worst group of doctors I have ever seen. We went to have an annual skin check done. I pointed out a mark on my skin that several other dermatologists had told me to watch and was informed that it looked like a pimple and was no big deal. My husband had two moles that Dr. Rogers thought were abnormal but she looked at my husband and said «I don’t know. What are your thoughts? Do you want it removed?» That’s why we were there! She is the doctor. My husband scheduled a follow-​up appointment to have them removed. Both were cut out and the scars were horrific!!! Again, we have had moles removed and know what an appropriate scar should look like. My husband had to go back and have more scraping done on one of the moles. He called to schedule the visit, mentioned his terrible scarring, asked if there was someone that was able to stitch it better, and we were told to go somewhere else!!! They referred him to a doctor but then refused to fax all of his paperwork over so the doctor could see him and so insurance would cover the visit.
Long story short is that my husband had to go back to Dr. Rogers to get the remaining scraping done. Upon arrival she said, in quotes, that «she heard he was unhappy and was wondering why he was there.» He responded by saying that was not an appropriate way to start an appointment with a patient and she immediately became apologetic. Dr. Rogers has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen and really does not seem as qualified as any of the other doctors I have ever been to. I would not recommend her to anyone even if she practiced for free!

You could die by the time someone can see you at this place. Go to the emergency room. It will be faster.

Waited two hours for my appointment that never came. Eventually asked for my money back.

Usually a long wait and then rushed through. The last Doctor I saw, as usual was out, didn’t give the impression she cared about the reasons I was in/​any information I tried to provide. Just prescribed antibiotics and sent me on my way. Went to the ER later that night.

Update: The office manager resolved my latest issue, so I’m changing my review to 2 stars — We will see if I can improve the review as time goes on. I will try them again thanks to the office manager and nurses, so fingers crossed…

I received good urgent care, and the staff was friendly. I felt the delay and paperwork was too slow for an urgent care. I told the front desk person I was there for urgent care, but I still had to fill out a bunch of paperwork first, rather than getting ushered to triage right away.
However, the biggest problem is the signage. There is absolutely NO signage showing where the entrance is. We had to make some u-​turns and guess how to get in. Considering this is an urgent care facility, lack of signs showing how to get in is absolutely unacceptable. If this isn’t corrected, it is only a matter of time before someone dies or has serious complications while trying in vane to get in, even from the street right in front! They need to fix this ASAP. I recommend a giant entrance sign with giant arrow under the Nova Medical and Spa sign on the building, and then another sign pointing in to the entrance off Loudoun Cty Parkway.

I have a sinus condition today that kept me off work. I went here seeking relief and I really liked the level of care. The staff was friendly and efficient. I was seen right away and did not have to wait long. I even liked how there was one lady in training. The other worker was so helpful in showing her what to do. Thanks for the great experience!

Nova Medical Care — Dr. Grace Keenan and her staff of Ms. Rachel Bonner (Nurse Practitioner) and Dr. Sarah Giardenelli (naturopathic physician) are absolutely wonderful. I had to find a new medical team since my previous doctor moved out of state and I was very fortunate to find Dr. Grace Keenan and her excellent staff!!! Ms. Bonner is who I see each time I go there along with Dr. Sarah Giardenelli who works closely with Ms. Bonner. Together these ladies have cured!!! some problems several other doctors and specialists to date were not able to and I have been suffering from for several years each and every day– all day/​night (²⁴⁄₇). Also I lost ten pounds for the first time in over 30 years in just two months and kept it off. I also have regained a lot of energy back and feeling much, much better. I had some significant physical discomforts that were interrupting my daily life and I just lived with it. Now two significant issues are gone!!!, I am healthier, and my quality of life has significantly improved. KUDOS KUDOS to these ladies and this wonderful practice. They care for you as if you are their only patient, medically resourceful (THEY LOOK FOR ANSWERS & FIND THEM), they are sincere (hard to find sometimes in any business especially care service unfortunately but not here they are great), and they follow up!!! They care for the whole patient — mind, body, nutrition, energy, etc etc.
Also Dr. Grace Keenan set up a SPA at the center which is fantastic. Mr. Dave at the SPA along with the other staff give professional, courteous and kind care. You feel like and are treated like a star. They really care. I drive an hour each way just to go there but it is worth it because my health is worth it and quality of life. If you want the best in medical care then go to Dr. Keenan’s staff, ask for Ms. Rachel Bonner,
Dr. Sarah Giardenelli and Mr. Dave at the SPA. God bless them all. I feel blessed and very fortunate to have found them and look forward to even better health in the future.

Who is really a fan of this place? The doctors seem to rush you in and out, even if they are your primary care physician. They don’t seem to really want to see what the root cause of an issue is, instead they just want to refer you to someone else and get you out quickly. I guess they just have a hard time switching between and Urgent Care and primary care.

Okay so I had my first visit with my son here last night. Please tell me that my son is not eh only one who has stuck something up his nose. He managed to stick a bead up his nose. He is only 4 and hasn’t grasped the concept of «blowing» his nose yet. I tried to get it out with tweezers and tried to make him understand blowing… but it wasn’t happening and iI didn’t want it to get stuck further. When we got here the place seemed cleaned but was filled with lots of sick people at 6:45 PM on a weeknight. The line was a little long, but flu season is in full swing. There were patients lying on couches looking miserable which as a slight germaphobe who gets sick very rarely was a little freaked out bringing myself and my 3 and 4 year old here for something as silly as a bead stuck up his nose. Anyway, I stood in line for maybe 10 minutes, paid my deductible, and started filling out paperwork. While filing out paperwork my daughter made my son laugh and he found that the bead was moving. I told him to keep laughing and he ended up laughing the bead out. So we didn’t end up seeing the doctor. They weren’t able to refund my deductible right away… so I need to call their billing office today. Hopefully that will be easy. The receptionists I enteracted with seemed nice. When I left I wanted to come home and shower in anti-​bacterial soap. Here’s hoping we didn’t catch the flu there!

If you’re sick, pick another place to be seen. My husband went here two days ago feeling and sounding miserable. A flu test was not administered and the diagnosis was that he has allergies. Oh and his throat was very red, so .25 star for administering a quick strep test, which came back negative. The next day fever sets in and feels worse. Needless to say, he went to Minute Clinic today and has a sinus infection. They did do a flu test, which was negative, thankfully. Thank you Minute Clinic of South Riding.

Used these folks twice in a month — once for a severe infection, the other time for a TB screening. Great results and very good customer service both times. I saw a nurse-​practitioner and was very impressed.

Was not pleased with the staff, the doctor and my treatment. I was not given a correct diagnosis. The doctor says «I believe you have allergies.» The only nice thing about this facility was the prescription process.
Went to Patient First and got better treatment, a better doctor, and a more friendly staff where I was diagnosed with pneumonia.

Worst service ever. I provided my symptoms which included being light headed, nauseous and having this nasty cold for ten days. The doctor conducted a quick evaluation and mentioned that I am probably suffering from allergies (really!!). I mentioned that this is early March and I rarely get itchy eyes at the most in late Spring. But she persisted. After I asked for a medication to treat my symptoms, she hesitated but wrote a prescription that she said will help with my nausea. I got to my CVS to find out that the medication that she prescribed was anti-​histamine. Thanks doc. Listen to your patient more.

STAY AWAY! I’d give it 0 stars and post a large ‘stay away’ sign if possible. They do have a couple of good doctors, but the supporting staff is incredibly bad. I won’t detail every issue I’ve had, but to sum up the major issues:
— My records contain incorrect data and the staff refused to correct them (said I gained 150 lbs in a week, indicated I was on certain medicine when I wasn’t, etc.)
— Was given results for bloodwork when I hadn’t given blood
— My records have been lost on more than one occasion
— Scheduled appointments but wouldn’t be on the books when I arrived
— I’d wait on average at least 45 – 60 minutes in the lobby before being seen
I have stopped going here, despite their convenient locations and hours.

I went to the Urgent Care facility and the staff was warm and welcoming and so were the nurses and doctors. I will definitely go there again.

Wow! You definitely do not find this kind of service in Fchurch! I went to this place and I thought I had accidentally entered the spa area, not the doctor area, but then I was reassured that I was in the correct place. So swanky! I had gone there to get some sinus medication preflight for a conference trip I was to go on. The nurse practitioner and doctor were so nice and caring and then after I left, they actually follow-​up called me a couple of days later! THAT is SERIOUS service. Basically, I had a breakdown in their office about being stressed out about the trip and that there was absolutely NO WAY I was allowed to be sick since I had a sole responsibility to fill while on the trip. Anyway, I was reminded of how nice the burbs CAN be when they are NEW. I grew up in Chantilly, VA in the early nineties when EVERYthing was new and it was so great. So now, if something is not ‘new’ I get bored or disappointed. I wish this place was in my neighborhood.
