Dairy Queen

As soon as we walked in I was greeted by a short lady with an attitude. Ordered a Oreo Blizzard and was asked if I wanted extra Oreo’s. I asked if there is a charge and all I received was «89 cents extra» and some more attitude. I passed on the up sale and ordered 2 more Oreo Blizzards for others in the family. Next was my order… I had to ask, «Is there an extra charge for a couple extra peanuts on the Peanut Buster Parfait. You know the answer… «89 cents extra». So upset on the upsales I said never mind. Here is the kicker… Once my wife received her Blizzard, the old lady with attitude had the nerve to say extra ice cream for lady.

–Dirty tables
–Trash was full
–Dirty containers for the spoons (I couldn’t tell you what the crumbs were, but I wouldn’t recommend a spoon from the bin)
–Help wanted sign on the door. They probably cant keep people working there with Little old lady attitude working there.
Ill stay with McDonald’s Blizzards (in the same shopping center), Cold Stone, or Maggie Moo right down the road.

Went to this place on a warm Friday evening with my wife, and not surprisingly, it was packed. However the reason it was packed is that there was one cashier and one girl making the blizzards. I got a cherry dipped cone after waiting for 20 minutes in line and my wife had walked out of the store because of the poor service. I don’t understand why it is so hard to pay for 2 employees to make the blizzards or anything else for that matter, especially when your service will improve tremendously!

I ordered a birthday cake from DQ recently. Great customer service and cake was beautiful. we don’t get lot of choice because I needed eggs and nuts free cake due to allergies but DQ made sure to make it as pretty as it can be while keeping it according to our special need. will def use them again.

This is one of the best DQs I’ve ever been to. Been here many times over the years, and it’s ALWAYS the same little Indian lady running it. She makes some darn fine Blizzards. What else do you need?

Went to Dairy Queen for the first time today and got an Oreo blizzard. Boy did I waste my money and gas. This blizzard is literally the most sweetest thing I’ve ever tried to eat. I eat ice cream all the time, but I could not finish this.

I went today for the Free Cone Day with my Kid. We got our free cones :)
The people there were very friendly. All the time we were there, I noticed that they let customers know it was free cone day, if they seemed unaware of it; which to me was very rare. I really appreciated how enthusiastic they seemed about everything. Will surely go there more now.

This place is filthy and has fruit flies everywhere. When I mentioned to the owner lady that there was a fruit fly in my blizzard she laughed and said yeah they are everywhere so what. She was incredible rude and unprofessional. I could not believe that she would not stop arguing with me! I had to walk out or she would have kept going on and on. Take your money else where.

I have been a few times because I’ve had company in town. I thought the owner wasn’t very nice. She was rude to her employees and blamed them for minor mistakes in front of customers.
Today was no different. My son received an gift card for Christmas and I allowed him and his brother to go in and get a blizzard. They returned to the car and he notice 1) there was a hair in the ice cream (which happens from time to time anywhere you go) 2) he ordered a Reece’s pieces blizzard but got a Reece’s cup (this location has Reece’s pieces). When he came back from getting another one because of the issues, she told him that he couldn’t get a Reece’s pieces because he never ordered it in the first place. :-/​
I went in to talk to her and she argued with me about how he never ordered it. Forget I never asked for my money back because of the hair nor did I make a big deal. Then proceeded to put down the employee for his mistake. This was so inappropriate on so many levels.
She finally gave me what my son ordered after ten minutes.
Unbelievable, will go to sweet frog from now on.

Dairy Queen ice cream… my kid loves it! The staff here are pretty cool to my son, he’s two, and they chat him up the minute he walks in and he love it here.

I’ve been going to this DQ for over two years now so you could say I am quite a regular. I have the utmost respect for the main lady that works because she is there all the time (I have been in once when she is not there) and she is always kind to us. The ice cream is good and she always adds an extra swirl onto my cone! Maybe this Dairy Queen isn’t perfect but she works very hard to try to make it close.

I was very hesitant going into this DQ and with that– I will never go back. They tried to serve me a pre-​made blizzard that a customer did not want– disgusting. They store unwanted orders in their lower cooler to try to save money! And the previous Unilocal is right, they only do one scoop of blizzard toppings for a medium blizzard. Beware!

I just stopped in to get some ice cream and turned around and left, as did several people that came in after me. This place is always understaffed. It’s 7pm on a sunny summer day, and there is only one woman working. Really disappointed because I was looking forward to this all day, but our three month old was getting fussy in the car and I couldn’t wait in line any longer. Sucks that this place is so poorly managed, they are missing out on a lot of business.

I see one of the reviews here are fake. Until very recently then only had one register. Please keep your reviews honest.
The service is wonderful! They are quick, but quality never suffers and they are so nice! I called to say I was 10min away, but they weir closing in 2. The owners said don’t worry about it that they would wait for me. Truly appreciated. They are also the only DQ I’ve ever been to that actually holds the blizzard upside down to prove its thickness like the commercial.

If I could do ZERO stars I would! To start the one woman working was beyond rude when I asked for a chicken tender kids meal. «all we have is chicken strips» aren’t they the same thing???
Then when the food finally came out I asked for ranch to dip her STRIPS in and was told I would have to pay for them. What??? Who doesn’t give you something for kids to dip chick in???
When I then asked for more than two ketchups for my fries and her strips I was told I would have to pay for them too.
Asked for my money back and will NEVER BE BACK!!!

Upon first encounter, this place is so weird and non-​functioning, you wonder why the hell you made your husband drive your 30wks preggo, dying of heartburn butt here on a Monday night in January.
And yeah… it’s true that sometimes it’s hard to understand the people taking your order, or even get their attention. But I have to say, they’ve never screwed up my order and they usually move pretty fast. They’ve never been truly rude. (I swear that’s not a backhanded compliment; it’s more of a response to other people’s reviews.)
I agree they get overwhelmed during warmer weather and in the evenings. But darn it, I just love me a Blizzard and they deliver.

I walked into this place because I had promised the kids ice cream today. With DQ being close, I figured, why not right? Well… we didn’t get ice cream from this joint, I walked out because of the rude cashier.
First of all, there is no way to tell where the supposed line is, I guess I am supposed to just know. I was one of three people standing at the counter. Considering the guy that «seemed to be in front of me» was picking up a cake, another guy was texting (looked like he’s already ordered since he wasn’t paying ANY attention to the cashier) and was on the far side of the counter…
The rude nasty employee looks at me like I’m an alien being and rudely asks: «you wanting something?» I tell her, that yes, I wanted to order ice cream. I mean really. I’m in line in a fast food joint, standing at the register… perhaps I might want to buy something, but what would I know? (no brainer) She asks me if I’m next… I tell her I guess, I don’t know who has ordered and who hasn’t. She looks me up and down and tells me that line there (motioning to the other side of the counter, behind the guy that is texting) you move there.
What?! So I’m supposed to walk in, and go all the way to the back of the store and get in a line that was not there?! How about I stand here and you take my order when you are done with the guy standing there not paying any attention?! Or better yet, I’ll just take my business elsewhere rather than get treated with some sort of decency rather than be subjected to some rude woman that should attend some remedial training or be fired.
Don’t waste your time nor hard earned money here. So many better choices close by!

Friendly employees who will even stay open if you give them a call asking if they could stay open for an extra twenty minutes.

The gentleman who works here is rude in his tone and I had to repeat my order 3 times to the gentleman taking my order. His tone sounds like you’re bothering him and I just need to move along. I had an Oreo Blizzard, but there was maybe 1 crushed up Oreo in the entire Blizzard.** As an edit to this, the female employee I saw today was wonderful. She made everything, interacted with the boys, and she was very friendly and she served us as well. I bumped my rating up to 3 stars.
The store was very clean and has recently been renovated, but it was pretty darn warm in there.

One of the best Dairy Queens in the area. The place is always clean (including the restrooms). They get your ice cream order to you pretty quick. You can’t go wrong with their Blizzards. They show you how thick it is by always turning cup upside down before they give you the Blizzard order. The Triple Chocolate Eutopia is a must have if you have a chocolate craving.
The staff is always kind and greets you when you come in. If you are a regular, they remember who you are… they are always friendly.
The only negative is that it is hard to get to from the main roads. But definitely a great place

I have the utmost respect for Kevin L. and don’t question he had a poor experience here before. I hadn’t even read his review until I just got home from making a run over to DQ and intentionally sat down to write a review.
I don’t normally post reviews of chains that are just average /​as expected (I probably should though so my grade distribution would look more like a bell-​curve instead of being so skewed high toward the 4-​star ranking). We don’t live close by, so we haven’t been over here to this DQ, but my wife was having a craving tonight and asked me to make the trip for her, and who was I to say no? (There were NO selfish motivations, cravings, or desires involved WHATSOEVER!)
I went expecting a typical DQ experience (and we’ve been to MANY different DQ locations during multiple cross-​country drives), and I came away honestly impressed with the quality of service here at the DQ in Ashburn Village.
The lady who took my order had great attention to detail, memorizing each modification to the standard order and got the orders exactly right. When they delivered the blizzards, they did the traditional DQ method of holding the blizzard cup upside down and handing it to you — showing how thick it was. I haven’t seen a DQ employee do that in a LONG time, and it’s a nice touch.
I asked for lids, and the girl who handed me my banana cream pie blizzard stuffed a regular drink cup lid on top, squishing whipped cream out the sides and making a mess. The lady who took the order saw this and immediately took action to correct it. She took off the drink cup lid, cleaned off the mess on the sides, put fresh whipped cream on top, then put one of the bigger lids on. An average DQ would have just let me leave with the mess.
The blizzards were great and they got our orders exactly right. The service was professional and better than I expected.
