I had my wedding here in May and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was very professional and helped me so much! The ambiance was exactly what I wanted with beautiful panoramic views of the beach! Myself and all my guests loved the food and drinks and had so much fun hanging at the beach for the day/night! It also helped that the weather was perfect too!

Me and my friends had lunch here. We wanted a seat by the window but I guess those tables all had reservations. Those tables remained empty the entire time we were there which is fine because the ocean view was beautiful. The food was just ok and you are paying for the beautiful view. Two of us ordered the shrimp wrap special and to our surprise there were shells on some of the shrimp. The waitress response was there should be no shells in the wrap and walked away. I mentioned my experience to my sister and she also was disappointed when she went. I doubt I will be going here again.

Let me start by saying we did not dine at this restaurant this evening. We walked into an empty restaurant with two hostesses; one was on the phone and one completely walked away when she saw us standing there. The bar was half full with maybe 7 waiters hanging out. We were finally asked how many but no greeting whatsoever. We were a party of two. We were told there would be at least a 15 to 20 minute wait. So, you have maybe 7 actual tables seated, tons of waiters standing around but if we wanted to be seated we could sit at a high top. Never again! This happened to us once in the summer, understandably they were busy but now, when there were more empty tables than full. Two strikes and never again.

The food is mediocre, at best. Not a great menu and some of the sauces just don’t work with some food. Olive tapenade(very strong) and a mild stuffed flounder? Also, our drinks were not good. I ordered a cocktail with Prosecco as an ingredient and it was flat(no fizz). We went to see a special show of the Jersey Four, which was a TERRIFIC show — what we could see. We booked the tickets and tables several weeks in advance and had the front row. Because it was a special show, there was to be no dancing. The dance floor was filled with tables. There was maybe 5 feet between our front tables and the bandstand(for the waiters to serve). By the end of the show, we couldn’t even see the band because of the multitude of people going up to this miniscule area to dance right in our face. We spoke to management who noted that dancing wasn’t supposed to occur that night, but they turned their head. If you want to go to see a show, you will really not see it that well because of the dancing right on top of the performers. If you go for the food, you will be disappointed. You can go for the view on the boardwalk and just skip McLoone’s completely.

We had lunch here today. We sat outside on the Boardwalk at Asbury Park and the table was in the shade, with the ocean breeze and a perfect spot to people watch. We ordered the dry rub chicken wings which were delicious… just the right amount of heat. We also had an order of the baked pretzels which came with three sauces — marinara, hot spicy mustard and three cheese(the cheese was my favorite). Everything was very fresh and we were completely happy with our lunch and will definitely go back while we are here on vacation.

This particular McLoone’s location(Asbury Park) is way overrated. I was not pleased with this McLoone’s at all except for the oceanview. My girlfriend and I ordered a burger topped with lobster salad, guacamole and onion ring on a gluten free roll which comes with cole slaw and fries. Instead of french fries, I ordered sweet potato fries. Well, the glass of wine that my girlfriend ordered took 15 minutes to come. Then, we get our order which came with regular fries instead and was missing the cole slaw. I told the bus boy that our order was wrong. He said he would take care of it. Ten minutes go by and we are still missing the cole slaw and no sweet potato fries. Finally the waitress comes over and asks if everything is ok. We told her the situation and she, again, apologized for the mistake and would take care of it. Well nothing was taken care of. We were pretty much finished with our burger at this point so I told the waitress to forget the fries and the cole slaw, since apparently they already did. She apologized again and said she would get the check discounted and get the manager. So you would think that after all the inconvenience, that they would at the very least charge us for one meal only. All she did was take off the 1.95 extra for the sweet potato fries. Really? So guess what… our waitress didn’t get much of a tip from us. Bottom line… terrible service and the food is not worth the price. I will never frequent this restaurant again nor will we ever recommend it.

We have dined at Tim’s several times and always had good meals and cocktails. NJ has a culture of liking their drinks heavy on the alcohol and ruining the proper cocktail. At Tim’s it’s done right and bartenders know their clientele. The view of the ocean along the Asbury Park boardwalk can’t be beat, and the old HoJo’s brings back memories or my youth with the all you can eat fried clams on Friday nights with my grandmother. Tim’s also hosts some great musical events, so check their website often and come on down.

This is one of the places I really want to like more than I do. I keep going back hoping they’ll surprise me but alas the place is just a-OK. From the drinks to the food to the staff, everything about this place is OK. Not good, not bad just OK. The main reason to go here is to sit outside on a nice day, people watch and take in the sounds of the ocean. It is located right outside Convention Hall so you get a nice vibe but that’s about it. Food is pretty pricey for what you get and if memory serves me correctly, sides are extra. So here you are thinking the price of that burger looks pretty high and then on top of that I have to pay extra for fries? Hmm… Cocktails also seem pretty measured. Not like I’m a boozehound but when you give me a Bloody Mary in a pint glass and there’s barely any vodka in it, I might as well saved myself the $ 10 and just gotten a glass of tomato juice. All I can say is if you’re in the area and in a pinch and can sit outside, go here. I would not go out of my way to come here with so many other great options in AP these days.

Pretty dissapointed that I got charged $ 11.00 bucks for a drink that I wound up wearing and not drinking. Even in the worst places they replace your drinks or take it off your bill. I look young and acted like I didn’t really know much and my server really took advantage. Nothing bothers me more, especially if you know the people do not get to go out ever. My one drink was small overpriced and knocked over and was not refilled. I dropped alot of money on a VERY basic lunch. I’ll take my business across the street. I almost forgot we sat outside and there was literally a table scream talking or just plain yelling. They were smashed one person even left her purse. I know the restaurant cannot control others so I tried not to judge but when I realized they were just drunk it was obnoxious. Loud screaming with soaking wet clothes, so bad the table next to us helped me they saw how bad it was. This is basic stuff I’m not impressed with this place.

This place sucks, made a reservation for 20 people a month ago and they managed to mess it up. They put us at two separate tables. The place is absolutely disgusting dirty with remnants of food scattered all over the floor. And not to mention the service is so disorganized. I’ve been here a handful of times and it never gets any better.

I’ve had tastier food at McDonald’s for a fraction of the price. The food is extremely bland and dry. The service was so-so, hence the one star. This place is seriously lacking. If I’d have to come back here for an event, I would eat beforehand.

I brought my wife here one night in between shows at the Paramount Theater right next door. I used to go to this location as a kid growing up in this town when it was the Howard Johnson’s. The place looks nice inside but that was it. The food and the prices made me immediately think they are trying to be like a high end New York City restaurant for well to do folks but seriously fall short. It was disappointing because I wanted to like the place. The location is perfect. The great Asbury Park right on the boardwalk next to the Paramount Theater, Convention Hall, Wonder Bar and Stoned Pony. Four major music/theater venues. All those patrons of the arts being lured into this place for great food only to have ok food at big prices. Things can change and if I hear that they do I’ll give it another shot. I do appreciate maintaining that building by being there. I will change this review if good things happen there. Good luck!

It’s been almost a week since my wedding and I can’t wipe the smile from my face! The Rachel’s(the event coordinators) did a phenomenal job with each and every detail of my big day. I know that they clearly take personal pride in making sure you feel like the princess bride with your dream wedding unfolding in front of you. The room itself is gorgeous. Our food has received countless compliments, I cant even tell you what was the best part. My husband is a foodie and we were nervous about the food living up to his expectations, but it far surpassed any thoughts he had. We happily ate all the extras they packed up for us the entire week and had to discuss how amazing each bite was as we went. The servers, bartenders, and chefs were on point at all times. All our guests continue to rave about the macaroni & cheese bar! Saying Thank You can’t possibly express the gratitude both myself and my husband have for how wonderful our reception turned out because of these people and this place.

This is a jersey shore staple and has a perfect mix of beach bum with classy sofiaiticated dining. I have dined at the pier village location before and was just as satisfied. The menu is different from the other locations and lacks the baked Brie!

Lovely refurbished Howard Johnson’s that I am afraid to say I hadn’t visited the property for years at that end of the boardwalk. Lovely décor with a combination of high chaired tables and low. Nice staff!!! Nice enough bathrooms that withstood the deluge of LGBTIQPATRONS on Pride Sunday. As far as the menu, there is a bit of price gauging going on, I mean $ 15 for 7 clams in bourbon sauce, bacon and potato wedges– I mean C’mon!!! The bacon donated the dish rather than the clams who were the main attraction. The salad portions were huge, big enough for sharing. The BLT should have been the BBLT/for BURNTBLT. Of course the location is just divine but you have deliver good food with that view if the Atlantic Ocean. Also, it would have been nice to see some people of color working in the restaurant especially given the community where the eatery is located. And lastly, I did notice a woman in a wheelchair have a heck of a time navigating the entry, right turn and stall. The space was pretty tight. I truly hope she and her escort were ok.

I simply don’t know where to start. There are three variables here: the show, the food, the service. The older I get, the more I appreciate — no, revere — great service above all else. Luke(the manager) if you’re reading this: You have a server who is the best in the business. The best in ANY business. And I’ll tell you why. We had reservations for the British Invasion show Saturday night, October 5. We were also in town for the Zombie Walk(in full Zombie regalia). Now, how to meld those two? We arrived in full costume and make-up and no one batted an eye. As we were greeted warmly by Julianne(sp?) and she started to show us to a great table, I held back. I was suddenly self conscious. I asked, «Are there any other Zombies here?» «No,» she said sweetly. «But you’re fine.» I asked for a back table. She assured me the table that was waiting for us was behind other patrons but still had a great view of the stage. And she was right. So we sat and looked over the menu but I was beginning to really feel self conscious about our Zombie get up. But Julianne again reassured us. «This is Asbury,» she said. «We see everything and no will will even bat an eye at you.» And she was so right. In a roomful of mostly older patrons enjoying dinner and the great show, not one person even looked askance at us. And, in fact, the lead singer of the British Invasion even called us out and applauded our appearance! So, to sum up: Julianne is a treasure. For such a young girl, she has the customer skills of someone in the business for 40 years. She helped with the menu, always refilled water — was very efficient, accommodating, and just amazing. Please, please hold on to her. When we return(and we can’t wait to) I want specifically to have her. The show was outstanding, the view amazing, and the food? We got three small plates(pot stickers, pizza, hummus) and were stuffed. We shied away from the signature martinis(they looked scrumptious but were kind of pricey — $ 12) and we walked out with a bill of $ 45. What a great Saturday night after a great Zombie Day in Asbury.

Went here recently for the taping of Tim McLoones radio show and had a Groupon for dinner. I have to say that it was the best meal we have had there and the service was excellent. The meal was a 3 course Prix Fixe and included a wine pairing with each course. We started with the Mussels, which were excellent — the portion was huge. My wife had the Mahi Mahi entrée while I chose the Tenderloin Medallions — the best I have had in quite some time. Dessert consisted of Chocolate Truffle Cake and Cheesecake. The wine pairings went well with each course. Dining while enjoying the radio show taping was a nice experience and we will do it again.

The wife and I are regulars here. Sometimes just for the entertainment and drinks, other times for the full boat. Real night club atmosphere. Tuesdays you can’t go wrong with Mark Ribler and Friends. Fridays and Saturdays, The Shirley’s, Tim’s band, or nights of Bob Burger or Bobby Bandiera. This is the Jersey Shores best music. They just came up with a new, smaller menu. Smart move. We always thought the food was just there to round out the night but on our last time here the food was very good. The soup was okay, but the mussels were excellent. Both of us had Mahi Mahi and I have to say was prepared very well. Dessert was just ok. We added a bottle of wine and a great night. Our waiter was good being attentive a making sure our requests for the kitchen were prepared the way we asked.

What has been created from the old Howard Johnson’s on the boardwalk in Asbury Park is unbelievable. This venue is top notch and as an event planner I have found their staff to be more organized and flexible than others in the area. Upstairs, you’re treated to 360 degree views of the Atlantic Ocean, Convention Hall, the Wonder Bar, the Berkeley Hotel, and the neighborhood stretching toward Deal Lake. You have to come check this place out, its legit amazing! Enjoy live music while dining, sip cocktails on the wraparound porch and circular ramp down to the boardwalk. Check their calendar for upcoming musical acts and book off-season to get a good rate!
