What a great place. The food was delicious, best burger I’ve had in a while! With an oceanfront view im surprised that the prices were extremely fair. Definitely Looking forward to trying out more of this menu and the large craft beer selection.

Finally stopped in today with my family while we were bike riding. Great service! Even better food! Brunch was awesome. Highly recommend. Kind of high prices but to be expected while your at one of the most historic places on the jersey shore! Worth the money and the scenery

Went when it was slow, got a table and deride quickly. Waiter was friendly and engaging. All four of us got the burger and fries. Everyone one of us was really impressed with with food, really good as far as burgers go. Will be back. Nice place to get some food prior to going to the stone pony for a show.

I am an aspiring photographer and wanted to spend the day in Asbury just snapping away. The day after thanksgiving — when all the crazies are shopping — near the surf and the sand with camera in hand. My husband and I loved our walk, along the boards and under — I was snapping away. But on November 27, 2015 Mother Nature decided she would gift us with a 65 degree day! I got thirsty, and hungry. We passed this place during our walk and decided to circle back. We got a high top near the window and had a nice view of the beach and water. Took a few minutes and the waitress was there. We each ordered one of their speciality drinks, she suggested we bump up to a «double» for just 3 bucks more, saying it wa slike getting two full drinks in one. We did. I had the Dark and Stormy — very good. Very strong — but thats ok, I had some good eats coming to soak it up! I got very excited by seeing the Crab Beignets on the menu! My husband ordered the clam chowder, I ordered Fish and Chips for my meal, he got the Sausage Lasagna. They weren’t terribly busy, but it seemed the only wait staff was our waitress, and then maybe a manager helping out. It took a long time to get our food — a long time — about 40 minutes. When the appetizers were brought to the table by a tall gentleman, he told us our entrees are done too and would we prefer they keep them under the warming lamps or serve them now. *sigh* Of course we said we want them now, keeping things under the warmers will simply dry them out. Now faced with which to eat first while knowing the other will get cold — I burned my tongue on the beignets. Second *sigh* But they were so very very good! Gotta give credit where it is due. The(I hope) homemade remoulade was very good too. Michael said his chowder was«ok». The fish and chips were good — a bit cool by the time I got to them, because I had to ask and wait for the malt vinegar for about ten minutes. But nicely seasoned, simply fare. The fish wasn’t rubbery or over cooked, and the coating had a nice satisfying crunch to it. The fries were, well, just fries. I wish they would have put alittle more effort in there and this dish could could have really had a punch. The sausage lasagna was tasty, and just enough to fill without over bloating, it was served with a wedge of pesto paste that didn’t make alot of sense — but taking in tiny nibbles with the lasagna bites was a nice touch. I asked for a box and waited, and waited. The waitress finally came back, with our check and explained that if we liked it we should come back on a weeknight when there are more servers and the place isn’t as crazy. It had gotten a bit busier since we sat down, but there were still open 4 – 6 tops, so it shouldn’t have been a stretch to serve everyone in a timely fashion. The place itself is a nice piece of nostalgia — it’s kitchy with old painting of big mast shjips on the walls, tables made out of huge cable spools, giant mugs on the tables provide napkins and plastic utensils. There was a wide cross section of folks there, which is nice. All in all we liked it, and will try again, hoping for better service.

Great location, great drinks, great food. We had my wedding after party at the Anchor’s Bend and we had a blast. I was in a panic because I needed a place to direct my guest after our day wedding and I found out our hotel’s bar closed for the season. The Assistant Manager Jamie was so wonderful to work with, she returned my phone calls and answered all my questions. Can’t wait to go back in the summer and enjoy the outdoor bar. :)

Nice bar with a really good selection of beers, ample room to spread your legs and hang out with friends, and a bartender who looks like he just landed from San Diego. Too bad we didn’t have more time here.

We sat at a high top for 20 minutes before asking one of the vapid waitresses for a menu. When the fire alarm went off, we decided not to order. I wish I could say the place was way too busy that we were overlooked, but the volumes were moderate. $ 14 for two IPA’s and a headache.

The worst food of my life! Hair in my burger. Bug fried inside of a french fry… Service was terrible. No one is friendly. Everyone hates their job there apparently.

Our favorite place for drinks in the summer! Food is OK but the location is killer and drinks aren’t overpriced. We love sitting on the beach with some drinks and good company. Plus, it’s on the north side of Asbury so it’s less busy than Beach Bar.

10000% better than tiki in point pleasant. Less out of towners which is great because more places to park and more spaces on the beach! Drinks are actually decently priced for being a beach bar. $ 8 margaritas which are usually $ 10 or more at other places. The rum buckets are a bit pricey, $ 16 for one but it’s kinda worth it. The outdoor seating is great and really completes the whole place! Not very noisy unless your on the deck under the roof. Really good crowd of people here and I’ll definitely go back before summers over and return next year.

I’ve been here about 10 times, and I wish the service and the experience lived up to the food. The food is great, but everything else is terrible. The high turnover rate makes it so that every server you run into has no idea what they’re doing. My most recent terrible experience was today. We went there for lunch, and after our server brings us our drinks(6 dollar beers and a 3DOLLARSODA), we’re told that the kitchen is closed because of an inspection(which hopefully shuts them down because if they care so little about the customer, lord knows how they take care of the food). Then we get the bill which contained a 3DOLLARSODA. I haven’t paid that much for soda outside of a movie theatre in my life. We were hoodwinked and bamboozled into paying for drinks. I’m sure they’ll end up doing this all day. In the end, this is one of those places that rests on the fact that they’re right on the beach so they know they can do the least amount of work and service as possible and still get a crowd. I pray a new owner who actually cares will finally take over, but I doubt it.

The Beach Bar is a great place to chill. Much more quite then the South Side Beach Bar and a very relaxed vibe with a great staff. Really enjoyed the beach games and then cool lights.

Great location, but service was horrible. They brought me the wrong order, the waitress actually asked if I wanted what I ordered, to which I replied yes. Nothing for about 20 — 25 minutes. Waitress comes by to apologize and suggest I get the food to go and offers to remove my dinner from the bill. My two companions did get their order and had eaten. They said the food was very good. After a total of about a 45 minute wait the waitress stopped by again to say the kitchen hadn’t yet started my order. This unacceptable customer service. I told her not to bother and bring the check. I ended up going to 10 Ave Burrito where we were given excellent customer service. After hearing my story of my experience, she expedited my dinner order so I got my food quickly. That’s how you treat customers and get repeat business.

Decent place in asbury/ocean grove. Walked the boardwalk from ocean grove and into the building where this restaurant is located. The restaurant has a great view since you could sit on the deck/bar and look out at the beach/ocean and have lunch. The menu is simple: fish tacos, burger, lobster roll, and a few other things. We ordered the crab beignet for an appetizer which were delicious and I had the anchor burger. They didn’t have the gaufrette chips — it was substituted by tortilla chips. There was no salsa. The burger was fine. Waiter was very kind and gave us plenty of water which we kept asking for. Overall a decent place. Would come back if I came back to ocean grove or asbury.

I really hope this place can get it together… Good food!, great local beer selection. A slow kitchen, unfriendly staff that just can’t seem to keep up. They always seem to be short handed… I am a local and I want to love this place. I can’t take anyone here because of how poor the service is. I’m not giving up… I hope the management steps up and takes responsibility. This place could be a gem! However, the service is the worst in all of Asbury Park. Please step it up :-))

My experience seems to be consistent with other comments; decent food offset by horrendous service. If these folks were in charge of serving on the Titanic, all would have died of hunger and thirst. Understand it’s a holiday weekend, but being out of supplies, unresponsive and unapologetic is not a path to success in a hospitality business.

Bummer place — has a great location however pulls shady stuff like serving coors light and calling it Harpoon Summer. Trying to pull one over on who they probably thought were visiting Benny’s when we are actually locals. Shame on you anchors bend!

this is a great little seashore bar nestled inside the famous Asbury Park Convention Hall. Its open and airy. The food is standard seaside pub grub and the atmosphere is fun and upbeat. If you like people watching(you never know which famous Asbury Park or Jersey shore native you will see) while grabbing some fried fare and a good drink, this is the place.

We have been here a few times and enjoyed each experience probably more because of the location and company rather than the service. Located on the North side of Convention hall there are two parts. The inside has a traditional bar and restaurant and the outside has a bar on the pier and beach seating(yep, right on the sand). The outdoor section is great. You can’t eat on the beach so if you order food you’ll have to eat it upstairs on the pier in the bar area. There is usually a drink special and the menu is the same as inside. The popcorn chicken sandwich was great. The beach section is relaxing and fun. Plenty of chairs and places to keep your feet in the sand. The only drawback is no food in the beach area so if you want to order food at some point you may lose your beach spot when you move up to the pier to eat. The inside section is good too. A few TV’s, normal noise, and food and drink specials. Service in both areas can be spotty and it’s usually not that great. The servers we’ve had have seemed annoyed at having to work and not really friendly. Worth a visit anyways for the location and food.

Positive, pleasant people but way off the mark as far as food and beverage goes . Like others have mentioned — every beer we tried to order was not available, meanwhile the menu is small to begin with. I’m surprised to read people considering the food excellent. We had the«Irish» burger that I’m pretty sure was a bacon cheeseburger? We actually ordered 2 of them and only one came with fries in the basket. .. .(?) We ordered wings that were delivered boneless(should have specified) and in an 8 count. Which means the«12» next to the menu item is actually the price ! And they were nasty . Lastly — the chili cheese fries — I’m not sure what chili or cheese in the world is dry but, you can actually eat these with your hands and no napkin is needed . Which is great because when you open your napkin to find PLASTIC fork and knives, you’ll really get pissed off . Shortly before the last straw is pulled when the bill comes. And you feel like you really should only have to pay half of it . 4 beers 2 burgers 1 missing fries 1 chili cheese fry — gross 1 order wings(8) — — — - $ 73 Very nice staff though ! I mean we only encountered one waitress but she had it together! Kudos . Hoping for a turnaround for the place. Asbury is on its way back as a fun destination but food options aren’t ample on the boardwalk . Good luck guys.
