We always come here to order their family platters for parties! They’re great, good variety! Staff is always friendly and accommodating as well.

Being in the area, my boyfriend, his son, and I decided to try some food from our culture: FILIPINO! Now let me just start off by saying that it’s always hard to think food that you grew up eating could be even CLOSE to your own parents’ cooking. With that said, this place is worth your money. LARGE portions for a fair price(I’ve been to places that charge so much more). I did NOT realize the servings would be so large(I really wouldn’t have ordered that much on a normal basis). We ordered the Kare-kare with oxtail and tripe, beef sinigang, lechon kawali, and pork sisig. The kare kare required the bagoong(shrimp paste), which is usually not the case with my dad’s recipe but regardless, it’s still good. Oxtail is tender and there is a lot of veggies in the dish. The beef sinigang is on the sour side so if that’s your preference, then it’s a must for you! The lechon kawali was cooked perfectly and the sisig definitely had the right bite. Parking is ample enough and there are definitely enough seats. But be careful, if you don’t overtly speak Tagalog, you may not get serviced as often a table who does.

We’ve celebrated birthdays and other occasions here plenty of times. It’s a good restaurant for a large party. We’ve always made reservations for about 20 – 25 people the morning of and they’ve always accommodated us. The platters are great for large parties. They have fried or grilled platters with variety of seafood, meat or combination of both. Some of my favorite dishes here are: pansit bihon, lumpiang ubod, garlic fried rice, bulalo, bbq sticks, and fried seafood platter. Prices are also reasonable and service is good.

Fast Food Filipino food… If you get there early it is all fresh and yummy. Later in the day as it sits you get the greasy OLD taste. My advice… come for breakfast! Kalamansi juice is really good, service is ok, prices are good. We visit once a month or so…

This place does not even deserve one star. It has the worst service ever. The hostess is so unfriendly and she does not deserve to be a hostess in this place.

Food is great. Service is a hit and miss at times. Long lines on weekends. To go orders take long to make also. Usually 10 min later then when they say over the phone. Food is excellent. Closest thing to home. They are veggie options but not much. Also not that great. Tofu is the only good thing. Garlic rice is amazing. Vegans need not try this place. No utensils or napkins when I ordered to go. Parking can be a pain sometimes. Small stalls. Not enough spaces for all the businesses here. Also very busy at times so wait times are longer than normal for this quality of food. Order for pick up if you can. I frequent this place because it’s local and pretty damn good for Filipino food that’s not made by mom.

Ordered take out a couple weeks ago for lunch with the coworkers. We put in the order a day before since we were going to pick up early the next day. The person on the phone was helpful. We order two party platters. Both platters were good. Nothing to complain. And all the coworkers love their lumpias and noodle as well. Definitely on our list to order from again.

The lumpia were off today… Mac and I both agree the oil was too hot as the skins were over done a bit on the outside but undercooked inside as a gummy paste was between the filling and skins. I DID order some Lechon Kawaki for the 1st time today. It is fried pork belly for those not in the know. It was very very very good. Crispy fried pork skin with tender meat chunks and such. Almost like the best of carnitas and chicharrón together. Highly recommended.

The food is good but the service mediocre at best. I literally had to walk up to a server any time I needed anything.

When you haven’t had Filipino food in ages(it was technically 3 weeks for me(TDay)) and my ex-coach takes me here… I almost cried in happiness… NOJOKE! I can’t cook… my mom is up north… you get the issue. Thus, upon parking and walking to the restaurant… I was literally doing the happy dance that my friend was just shaking her head. The staff were friendly… typical Filipinos with the«yes ma’am» deal. We got seated… looked at the menu… was ecstatic… the Filipino XMAS music was literally blaring on top of our heads… this gal was happy! I got the«bansilog» and literally inhaled it! Had to load up with coffee as well since I had a long ass drive after the concert. If only they were closer to Santa Monica… BUT… the friend /excoach said if I paddled next year, she’ll bring me food from here… motivation… I reckon so! Good food… good service… felt like being with the family… :)

Food is good, service is sloooooooow. After both goldilocks and jeepney grill closed, my wife and I have been looking for a place for Filipino breakfast. Salo Salo was about ¼ full at 10:15, so it wasn’t crowded at all. It took about 10 minutes before our waiter even acknowledged us, and another 5 minutes until he took our order. Ten more minutes for coffee. My wife’s dish came out about 30 minutes later, mine came out about 10 minutes after hers. It’s not like they had to slow cook some kare kare for me, since I ordered breakfast. Food was good though, and the serving size was generous. Only demerit was that my over medium eggs came out over hard. I like a little yolk for my garlic fried rice. Tocino, beef tapa, and longinisa were all delicious though. Anyhow, would have been more stars if the service wasn’t so bad. I’d like to say I’d come back for the food, but not sure I have the patience for it. May need to search for another Filipino place that serves breakfast.

The wait on a Sunday morning/noontime is insane. Even if you order pick-up, it’ll take a good 45min. If you go on a weekday night, there’s no wait. Vegetarian review: — Garlic rice. It’s slightly oily, garlicky, flavorful. — Tokwa’t Baboy– can be ordered with tofu only: small, square, fried pieces in a salty, vinegary sauce. They add chopped raw onions and the combination is delicious. Again, flavorful and filling. They give a fair amount for an appetizer. Pair this with a side of rice and an egg… yum. — Fresh vegetable lumpia(Lumpiang Ubod): this thing is odd. It’s kind of like a crêpe, filled with crunchy vegetables. It falls apart pretty easily, and there’s really no way to pick it up and eat it. There’s the occasional whole chickpea and carrot slice. But the majority is, something crunchy. I think it’s heart of palm, maybe? — Vegetarian Plate: comes with regular rice, a fresh vegetable lumpia(Lumpiang Ubod), a small side of tofu(in a small cup), eggplant, vegetable egg rolls, and grilled banana. Not really an impressive plate. I hear the langonisa pampanga breakfast plate is delicious and very authentic, though.

Very authentic Filipino food! Our family always go here for Sunday lunchouts to Birthday celebrations. Their food is absolutely awesome! We always start with calamares and lumpiang shanghai. They’re soooo good that after 10 seconds they serve it to us, we already finished a plate! My family loves bbq that’s why we always get their Meat lover’s platter. It comes with inihaw na baboy(pork chops), beef tapa(marinated beef steaks), inihaw na manok(char-broiled chicken, bone-in) and BBQ pork ribs. Served with tomatoes, onions and salted egg. Sinigang na baka, Chopseuy, Pancit bihon, and their inihaw na bangus are awesome!

If you are curious about Filipino food, and never tried it before… Salo Salo is probably the best places to start.(I’m saying this because I’ve visited many Filipino places and Salo Salo is probably the best Filipino restaurants that I’ve been to so far. Besides going over to my friend’s mom’s house to have some authentic Filipino food there.) So I went here on a Sunday with my boyfriend around 2pm. The place was a little crowded and there were people waiting in line to get seated. We waited for about 15 minutes to get seated(so it wasn’t too bad). The waiting area décor was very Filipino inspired(like the owners of Salo-Salo imported the furniture straight from the Philippines), they had little wooden or bamboo benches for the kids and the chairs for the adults were very traditional looking. On to the food: My boyfriend order the BBQ combi plate and I ordered the Lomi; we shared a fried bananas and Ube ice cream plate for dessert. The BBQ plate was AMAZING! My boyfriend loved it a lot, particularly the rib. He loved how the meat just fell off so easily when he was tearing into it. The meat was marinated delicious making his plate very balanced in taste. As for me the Lomi was FANTASTIC!!! It wasn’t greasy and over cooked. It was probably the best Lomi I’ve ever had. As for the dessert, the fried bananas were great! It wasn’t super sweet and you got to enjoy the taste of the banana, which was very complimentary to the Ube ice cream. What I really enjoyed a lot about the dessert was how crispy the bananas were, I loved the texture of it very much. As for the service. It was GREAT! The servers were very polite and tentative. Therefore, overall experience 5 stars, because of the total package, service, food and décor. I loved how authentic the whole feeling was at Salo-Salo, which honestly probably gets me more excited about Filipino food and cooking. Happy Eating Everybody!!!

Salo Salo is one of my original masarapsody Filipino restaurant favorites, notable of their fancy grilled platters capable of satisfying any level of munchies, so good, I’ve scarfed a whole family of 5 platter with a hommie once. The grilled items never disappoint, and the garlic and adobe rice makes a great combo to anything you order. Everything I’ve ordered has been pretty good here, but I’ll always recommend a family grill platter if you want the ultimate Salo Salo experience.

Salo-Salo is definitely a popular Filipino restaurant in Cerritos that is often frequented by Filipinos outside of the city and huge(as in LARGE) parties celebrating occasions. They offer a varied menu which is why this is a popular place to take Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike. You’ll be able to try the staple«from your mother’s kitchen» dishes as well as the special dishes that are harder to cook at home. We’ve been coming to Salo-Salo for many, many years and I’m glad to see that they have since expanded their dining area out to accommodate more diners and parties. I always enjoy looking at their painted mural that shows classic cultural scenes of the Philippines. Service is fast and friendly and their food is always delicious and well-priced. My go-to dishes: — sinigang with pork spare ribs — kare kare — pinakbet — garlic fried rice Try the kalamansi juice too — this is the Filipino lemonade. Light, sour, cold — refreshing :) Make sure you try and come at an off-time, or early enough if you are going here for dinner or lunch on Sundays. If you don’t you’ll be waiting for quite some time before being able to dig in to some filipino food goodness!

After my second time trying Salo-Salo, I can say if there’s a better Filipino restaurant, I haven’t had it yet. Their Breakfast Platter is amazing and a solid deal. The tapa, tocino, and longanisa are all cooked perfectly, so juicy and tender, and again, no restaurant I’ve tried has done it better. I had about half the menu on my previous visit with a very large party, have wanted to return ever since, and now I’m sure to work in a meal at Salo-Salo whenever I pass through Artesia or West Covina. Service was extremely slow, to the point where I almost gave up and walked out, so I hope it says something that the food was that good to totally reverse what would have been a very negative impression.

BREAKFAST: Today was my first time having their breakfast platters. And boy are they worth the price! My BF ordered the longanisa breakfast & they gave him 4!!! I had the combo plate which came w/longanisa, tapa & tocino. The servings are very generous! And eggs made the way you order! The breakfast platter also comes w/garlic fried rice and a drink: coffee, tea or a soda. Best part… it’s served ALLDAY! Their other dishes are also yummy. We usually order the calamari, crispy pata & pancit or sinigang. Also, you can never go wrong with their platters. The lechon ribs are definitely a MUST-try!
