Joe and Steve’s Ho’olau’le’a – Meet up at Gerry’s Grill

I’ve come to the realization that I’m not much of a foodie when it comes to the cuisine of the Philippines.
Just to be clear, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the food. Some of you chow down like it’s your last meal, so more power to you. Sisig to the face! As for me, I can’t even eat blood sausage, nor can I handle pig feet — both delicacies from my native country. I didn’t even start eating sashimi until college.
However, if my Filipino people invite me to an authentic get together — I’m there or be square. WHY? Cause, Unilocal is more than just about food. It’s about the people that make our subculture so unique and wonderful. Plus, it’s downright terrible if you can’t show support for those who spend time putting these things together. Am I right?

Normally, I’d explain what the meal consisted of, but except for the beer tower that we ordered (Stella Artois), I don’t know jack about what they ate. Yeah, I took a few bites, but saved my appetite for soju shots later. Yup, all in the life of the Seoul Brother.
