Humberto’s Curb Appeal

This is a first impressions review. As things progress, I will update the reviews.
I asked for a ball park quote online for some work I needed. I got several other quotes that I just felt were too high. Humberto emailed me saying he really didn’t want to do it only and wanted to see the property. I declined every other landscaper I contacted this opportunity because I do not have a lot of free time. He caught me in a good mood with nothing to do the next morning. So 5pm on Tuesday, I said «okay, as long as it is 8am tomorrow». He agreed.
He was about 10 minutes late. Although I am one of those people who believe «if you get there at the time promised, you are late. you should always be early», I let it slide because it is pretty typical of contractors.
He viewed the work and spent two hours with me. We went over ideas, prices and a LOT of side talk. We talked like we were long lost friends yet we never met before. It was quite nice. The price he quoted me was on the higher end of the spectrum but during this appointment, I elected to change the design, change the materials and change to work. Therefore, I can not compare apples to apples. Maybe the other contractors will be cheaper if I gave them the different design and layout but what I liked about Humberto is that fact that he will do both the fencing and landscaping. So far, I could only find contractors to do one or the other. I would rather deal with one person and not two.
Anyhow, I told him I was interested and wanted a written estimate. That was about 36 hours ago. Hopefully we can get the estimate before the weekend.
Again, this review is based off of the initial meeting. If anything changes, I will update the review accordingly.

Humberto’s Web page is impressive, but we doubt that he’s performed any of the work that’s pictured on it because the guy just can’t keep an appointment and he certainlty can’t be bothered to call and say he’s unable to come by. Don’t waste your time even calling this guy beause he won’t show up. What a flake!!! (Gosh, thanks so much Humberto for not showing up. We had absolutely nothing to do, but to wait around to be stood up by you!)
