Great clothing and accessories but the owner will drive you crazy. She follows you around as if you would steal something and says that anything and everything looks good on you. When I had visitors from Japan I kept the owner ‘occupied’ so my friends could actually shop. Will she ever learn?

I have been to Francesca’s every year for many years! I am not surprised that her downtown Taos location is now closed. Cute things– yes! Reasonable prices– on most things-yes! Those are the only reason I have gone back but I think I am done)-: The owner is rude and opinionated and might as well tell you out loud that she thinks you are stupid, dumb… Whatever negative adjective you choose. She berated me today for not liking a long knit skirt that she handed to me to try on– when I knew a long skirt was not my style. She argued almost everything I said and when I told her the local organic grocery store(Cid’s) was a little pricey, she actually got quite irate and told me that I was wrong. I have bought things at Francesca’s year after year but I am used to shopping at places where customer service matters and this is not it. Too bad.

Don’t even bother. If you are lucky enough to find the store open, you will surely find many things you absolutely must have! I kid you not, Francesca has great taste in clothing and accessories but she will undoubtedly run you out of the store before you make a purchase. You will leave disgusted, bummed, pissed, angry, insulted and empty-handed. If you still have to walk in cause the sidewalk display is soo tempting, leave the children, food, drink and grandparents in the car.

Francesca’s is my favorite shop in the Taos area! Hidden away in Arroyo Seco on the way up to the ski valley, this shop is a jewel for hippie, burner, and yoga clothing. They have everything from furry coats to silk flowy skirts, to boodylicious yoga pants and tops. But don’t be dissuaded by the tie-dye on the front porch, there is something here for every passer-by. Their jewelry is unique and local, and they have great shoes and sweaters. Every time I go in there, the place is packed! Francesca, the owner is a total kick. She moved from Manhattan to Taos of all places to open a hippie clothing store, and is as vivacious a character as you would imagine. She knows exactly what will look good on you, and is not shy about saying. You will come out of her store with some fabulous outfits that look amazing! Plus, her prices are very reasonable. It’s definitely worth the trip up the valley!
