Palo Mesa Pizza

This pizza is fantastic! You gotta try it, it’s the best. My personal favorite is the Mikaela. Great flavor profile. We always order our pizza, then go sit in Tanner Jacks (which is also ahmazing, try the brunch) and we get drinks and appetizers and the pizza gets delivered to our table. Great Friday night date night with my hubby! Love it! Palo Mesa Pizza makes you happy!!!

I love the pizza here. Definitely award winning pizza here! I try to get something new every time I come in. They just expanded their store too and it looks great. I recommend coming to check them out if you get the chance.

So VERY nice! They have a gluten «sensitive» pizza, which doesn’t make me sick in the SLIGHTEST! The people are kind and very concerned for your health, which is a wonderful thing. They will check all of the ingredients for you, to make sure your experience is of the utmost quality. No celiacs for sure, but for us gluten sensitive and allergic people, this is the place to go!

We ordered a half cheese and half pepperoni and black olive pizza. It arrives all pepperoni and black olive but with cheese only on half. Seriously? No cheese on half? I call and explain to the girl we ordered from and she sets the phone down and starts arguing with another coworker. Totally disappointed. Not a good first impression.

Ordering was like pulling teeth. I’m not sure how you can work at a pizzeria and not know what pizzas you have on the menu. I ordered a half pepperoni/​jalapeño and half hot Hawaiian. The gal that took my order acted like she had never heard of a hot Hawaiian pizza. I had to tell her what was on it. So I go and pick up my pizza and she says oh yeah you have the Half jalapeño and pepperoni and half ham pineapple and jalapeño. I made sure that it was in fact a hot Hawaiian and even stated that the hot Hawaiian is supposed to come with bacon on it. She agreed and said that’s what was ordered so I was on my way. Something I will never understand is when you go to a pizzeria and you are not offered any cheese or peppers to go along with your pizza. Not to mention, I was overcharged by three dollars. The kicker was getting home and realizing there is no bacon on the pizza. Palo Mesa, my family was soo excited to try your pizza but because of this awful first impression, I’m afraid we won’t be back.

Good food, great food actually. Buuut the cooks should be wearing a hairnet, or at least a hat.

The Michaela is a favorite for me! Great flavors, lots of toppings and a delicious crust!

Amazing pizza wow! Dough is fabulous and toppings are fresh and very well done. Nice clean atmosphere and friendly employees. Highly recommended. Do yourself a favor and save room for the s’mores dessert pizza. You’re welcome!

My husband and I are pizza lovers. Our favorite pizza in this restaurant is The Mikaela. If you are dining in or ordering take out Palo Mesa Pizza always delivers a well priced and consistently good pizza.
So if you love pizza then put this on your must try list. You won’t be sorry.

If you are looking for great ambience and customer service, be patient. It may come as the business matures. If you want great, unique pizza, give PM a try. I am a pizza lover (who somehow has managed to keep my height/​weight ratio in check), and I know my pizza.
My wife and friends and I have been to both locations and the quality of the food is excellent at both. However… the ambience and customer service at both leaves a little to be desired. I suggest some kind of training for the young men who work at PM. They are generally ok, but could use some improvement when it comes to dealing with customers. It would also be nice if the music was selected by someone who knows the customer base. Screaming heavy metal does not go well with lunch. Seventeen to twenty-​something employees should not be allowed to touch the music system.
PM sometimes reminds me of a really good contractor or artist: they are really good at what they do, but they often lack the business sense needed for a successful business.

I already thought Palo Mesa pizza is the best ever. But last night we ordered the penne pasta with sausage. It was great! Huge portion with awesome homemade bread sticks and salad. The sauce was clearly homemade and very tasty. The pasta was baked with cheese on top. It was some of the most flavorful pasta I have had in quite awhile. Good job, Palo Mesa!

We have been customers of Palo Mesa Pizza since their doors opened, we have always ordered from them b/​c their Pizza have been pretty good. However their service has always been awful and Pizza are extra small and over priced
Tonight we ordered a over-​priced extra small medium pepperoni pizza, the cheese on the pizza looked and tasted very cheap, the pepperoni was very greasy and over-​spiced.
We will no longer purchase Pizza from Palo Mesa Pizza.

It’s the only place that delivers all the way out to my home because they’re on the Mesa, which is awesome but the quality was terrible I would have rather drove into town and got fattes (never disappoints) the service sucked, I called in an order and the guy that answered sounded like he did not wanna take an order… I asked if they had
any specials: no
any favorites: no
appetizers: no
hot wings: ended at 2pm (it was 3pm)

We have ordered from here numerous times now. Both my wife and I really enjoy the pizza however there’s been a few times where the dough wasn’t cooked thoroughly. We live down the street, so for the most part this is our go to pizza place. If you’ve never eaten here, I would recommend giving it a try though Im not saying its award-winning…but it is decent.

I love this pizzeria, when I hit it on a good night. If they are the least bit busy my pizza will be delivered cold :(I wish they were more efficient and consistent.

BUT, that’s IF they give you the correct order… we got home and discovered the one supposed to be GF pizza looked just like the regular crust one. I called to verify if we got the correct order and it was in fact not gluten free. And unfortunately even after staying polite through 3 hangry (hungry/​angry) phone calls to try to resolve the issue, they offered no sort of replacement or discount on a new one, plus the rude girl on the phone never offered a manger or anyone else to even re-​order a new one, she simply hung up on me. Very disappointed in their lack of customer service after we paid nearly $ 50 for our entire order.
The pizza itself is awesome, but it’s not worth the fear of getting the wrong product and being met with attitude by their employees who took the order incorrectly.

This place has the worst service I have ever had! We ordered then my husband went to pick it up they said we called the other place down the hill. My husband drives down the hill to there other place to be told they don’t have our order. I call the other place back and they said oh yeh our machine was down and the other employee didn’t know and they could remake the order. No I’m sorry we sent you all over the place let us give it to you for free., nothing. This is the third time they have screwed up our order with no apology and it will be the last time because shame on me for going back! So sad to have such horrible service and they don’t even care!

I love this pizza place. My favorite pizza is the hot Hawaiian! No one makes the pizza dough and sauce like Palo Mesa Pizza. Imy kids like their calzones. Great food and wonderful service.

Palo Mesa has received a lot of press for their award winning pizza so I decided to give them a try. I expected great pizza and that is exactly what I received.
They serve beer now too, other than that it’s not the best place to dine in because it has a strange table layout. One large group is about all that can eat inside. There’s a small table as well but it’s uncomfortable.
The nice thing about the menu is you can customize but the specialties are unlike what you’d typically find. I had the greek pizza and it was incredible. The feta cheese + banana pepper combination is a winner for sure. The pizza crust is so good, probably the best crust locally.
Obviously the many options leave one with the challenge of repeat visits to truly get a good experience. The good thing is the price is pretty reasonable for high-​end pizza. The staff is also a lovely addition, they clearly enjoy what they do. There is a sense of pride in their work, that is not something you see too often.
Definitely a treasure in Arroyo Grande, and a must for pizza aficionados.
