Yep. I eat 4 – 6 meals a week from Marshall’s. Seriously. I no longer cook for myself, and Marshall’s foods are so inexpensive that I can stay within my seriously restricted food budget and still get tasty, healthy food. Breakfast and veggie burritos stay well in the fridge, *large* tostadas($ 4.50) I eat right away, as I do with the BEST BLTs I have ever had.(Note: I *don’t* like bacon! However, Marshall’s has bacon with almost no fat, real meat, little salt, and incredible flavor.) The chicken soup is superb, as is the menudo. I get my salsa on the side so that I can set my own level of hotness. As for people getting sick – well, considering that I’ve been eating volumes at Marshall’s since 2001 and *never* had a twinge or anything but fresh, well-made food… I can offer no explanations. Maybe it’s like the odds of getting hit by lightning. I’ve never seen the owners and staff to be anything but friendly and helpful to all customers, whether they are the local quarry workers who eat lunch there M-F or tourists just wandering through town. Considering how much time I’ve spent in there, I think I would have noticed. As a side note, if I had ever felt sick after eating at *any* dining establishment, my first action would be to talk to the manager, owner, whomever. They have the right to know about problems. Seems it would be a lot more productive than anonymous, hostile slams.

Absolutely horrible. The place has very little grocery items and appears filthy. I would be afraid to eat here. Walked in and couldn’t walk out fast enough. The store across the street is way better although pricey. I really don’t know how Marshall’s stays in business.

It’s silly to me that people don’t like this place! Or that they’ve gotten sick from the food. I’ve eaten here on and off for years as I come into town to visit family. It wasn’t until this time around I discovered how amazing the breakfast burritos are. Holy yum! I see why people eat them every day! The matter of fact is this, it’s Aromas. If you’re looking for some fancy shmancy little grocery store drive the 15 minutes to go to a chain grocery store or gas station and get what you want. Don’t like what they have here? Don’t go here. But that will dwindle down your options to pretty much nothing but the gas station across the street. Seeing as where this location is, you can’t have high expectations. But what you can get is an adorable little family who works here, loves what they do, and will remember your face and call you by your first name. It’s a little family place and you can’t put a value on that. I’ll take the smaller selections for that any day.

this has got to be one of the lousiest markets on the face of the planet… the items such as wine on the shelves are caked with grease and filth assisted by the nearby Mexican kitchen inside. now if this isn’t bad enough welcome to the worst customer service as well. the woman behind the counter has the personality of a snow pea. now some may feel snow peas are lovely. however for a personality I suggest it is not.

The 1st time I ate here, I got sick. yes full on SICK as in what the other reviewer wrote: «blowout sick». I ordered a vegetarian burrito and the 1st bite seemed wrong. I looked inside and the lettuce had turned, it was yellow/brown and the overall taste of the food was oily and rancid. I vowed never to spend money there again, but low and behold I was really hungry and thought an english muffin with egg & cheese would be safe? I got it out to my car and opened it up and was horrified to find a grey/green slab of ham inside!(clearly also had *turned*) I had to go back in that twilight zone Again and ask for it to be remade VEGETARIAN, clearly restating my simple order. She was even ruder this time and in addition to rolling her eyes, denied that I asked for: english muffin with just egg and cheese, no meat… no carne, solo huevos y queso. She argued with me instead of admitting that she made it wrong. I really don’t ever want to get that desperate again, and risk this place.

Dont be fooled by the outside. This place is awesome! Juana, the owner, is very sweet and friendly. Her mom is the main cook and she gets down! The cheeseburgers and fries are delicious, fresh and juicy. I had their menudo today and I was blown away. It was Super bueno and very clean. A lot of places dont clean the menudo and you can taste it. But the menudo from here is great just like if you were having it at home.

Awesome little market in aromas run by Oscar and his family. The stores been there for a blue moon and really is the heart of the town. Located on the main drag, you can’t miss it rolling into town. There’s a taqueria inside which had great Mexican good which is hot hot hot if you have a unaccustomed tongue. They can adjust the heat if you like mild or not spicey but you have to let them know. Order ur Mexican food and pay at the counter before you leave. Pick up ur drinks including soda, beer, wine, juice or water and you can be on ur way pretty quickly ! Want yo know my personal favorite thing about Marshall’s grocery store? In the summer they have a classic car show on Wednesday nights and the lot is usually full of all kinds of cars! Some are restored, some are in progress and some are«virgin«cars meaning nothing has been done to restore their original beauty. You get to meet a lot of people from the town at this social event and some attendees even come from the central. Coast! It’s a blast! Check out Marshall’s grocery and say hi to Oscar and his lovely wife for me. Tell them Karen sent you’

I’ve been going to this store for years. It is cut and dry what there is and isn’t. The owners are helpful and the food is — AMAZING! I don’t use that lightly. I’ve had burritos, chimichangas, and tacos from here and all were top notch.

By far my favorite hard shell tacos of all times and I dont normally care for a hard shell. They are made fresh and on Friday and Saturday when they feature skirt steak and tri-tip… even better!

In its current incarnation, Marshall’s has a terrific Mexican kitchen that produces food that ranges from good to excellent. The grandmother/chef poaches fresh chicken seemingly daily to produce an A+++ chicken soup(sopa de pollo) with whole sections of chicken on the bone, loads of fresh vegetables and rice, served with small and delicious corn tortillas. There are tacos and burritos and sometimes tamales(including a vegetarian one during the holidays) and grilled skirt steak. The breakfast burritos are stuffed with potatoes and bacon and eggs. Everything is handmade with love and skill.

A massive tri-tip burrito within walking distance of my house? Loaded with pinto beans, tapitio, salsa, rice, and made with 100% authentic Mexican love? For under five bucks? I love you.
