This store is fantastic! They let you taste as many sample as needed. Aleta was superb with customer service, the store manager Paula was also very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping by this location. I bought $ 75 dollars in products.

I love Teavana. When ever we are at a mall that has one we stop for samples. The staff was very friendly and realized we were traveling. Gave some great recommendation of places to see and do in DC. The store is the same as all the others and the tea samples were great as usual.

I don’t know what the previous reviewers are taking about, everybody here was so friendly, not condescending, and talked through all of my questions and I left happy and would not hesitate to come back.

I love Teavanna! The teas and products are great. The staff are friendly, but, as like many other Unilocalers have said, they do have an aggressive selling style. I like when you pass by their stores you can get a free sample of tea. All of the tea products they sell here taste very good and are very fragrant. The products they sell are long lasting which is a big plus. The only reason I have to take away a star is because of the small store. This place is small and seems to have a hard time storing all of their products and customers(during holidays). Also, a minor issue, if you are on a tight budget, you may want to save up and avoid the samples. I would definitely recommend this place to a tea lover or tea enthusiast.

The lady that helped us made me feel like I’m a 2 year old that doesn’t know how to make tea.

I left the store feeling like I needed a bath the salesguy was so sleazy. And Marianne(previous reviewer) was right, the sales people stalk you. Putting the most expensive«special» items in your hands trying to upsell you and then make you feel like crap when you don’t buy it. It is too bad because the tea was pretty good. There are far too many tea shops these days to bother with that crap. I won’t be back and advise everyone else to steer clear.(If you do go, take some hand sanitizer with you so you can wipe the slime off your body.)

The tea is pretty good. The service is sleazy. The guy had me sample some teas, which I really liked two. Showed me this fancy loose leaf tea maker and stated it was $ 19.95, which I accepted. He then started upselling on many other items. He finally stopped, then we started with the tea. He didn’t ask how much I wanted, so I assumed it was a standard amount, but he kept shoveling it in the bag. I go to pay and $ 65! $ 45 for tea! He couldn’t even have the common courtesey to tell me how much it was! I’ll never be back simply because it is too used car salesman like to me.

I had 2 returns today and chose not to make another purchase here today because the manager had an attitude.

The tea is good but the Sales Clerk Dinesh didn’t give me what I asked for… and then told me after I paid 60 for tea that they have a minimum amount of tea they can sell. I told him I’d never been there before and when I asked for 2oz to TRY the tea he said ok. He needs be more upfront and when people ask for something and explain INDETAIL what they won’t don’t lie. Won’t be visiting this branch again.

My review might sound a little silly compared to the others, but this is what I personally didn’t like. So I have a YouTube channel(at the time I had, maybe, 150 subscribers. Not many at all) and I was vlogging my time at Pentagon City Mall with my friends. This was on the 4th of July. When we entered the Teavana(because they were giving out free samples) this is where the issue arrived. I asked politely if the lady giving out the free samples would like be on my vlog. I wouldn’t have recorded her face, but this would’ve just given the store some free publicity, you know? She proceeds to say that I have to ask her manager, who suddenly appears on the scene. Right then and there, I wanted to say, «you know what? Nevermind. It’s not that serious», but instead I explain to the tall, creepy looking manager that I have a YouTube channel and I would like to give the store some positive publicity and yadda yadda yadda. I felt as if I was talking a lot more than needed. The manager ends up telling me that I need to speak with the marketing department and bla bla bla. I wanted to laugh. It’s NOT that serious! And according to the other reviews, your store isn’t that great! So NEVERMIND. Goodness. Finally, to seal the deal, the lady asks my friends and I(a group of teenagers who just spent a majority of our money on Bath and Body Works, clothes and food) if we would like to buy some possibly overpriced tea. We say«no thanks» and she responds with«of course». I don’t think any of my friends heard that little comment given to us by someone who is supposed to show excellent customer service – but I did. And that’s why I’m writing this review. Like I said, this took place on Independence Day, but better late than never I guess. Needless to say, next time I’m up here I will steer clear of this prissy little tea shop.

I know someone who works here… Basically they have to force you to buy tea so they can get put on the schedule for a few hours each week. They get no commission for all the hassling they have to do just slightly above min. wage hourly. If they don’t meet the daily sales goal management«asks» that they buy tea themselves. It’s a horrible place to work. The tea is ok but not great, it’s not organic, some flavors contain gmo’s. I would go to an organic herbal tea market or Capital Teas before buying here. Same or cheaper price but much better quality without the horrible sales experience.

I walked in, and automatically pushy people tried to get me to buy all this expensive tea. This guy filled a whole bag with peppermint tea and it came to $ 30 and I was disgusted. The guy told me, you have to buy at least $ 10 worth of thus tea. I came home and tried it, it was so watered down and not what I expected from supposedly high quality tea. I do not recommend going here unless you want watered down expensive tea.

Walked in with a friend, and the one of employees won’t stop following us, as if we were going to steal something. When I finally stared at him in anger he asked if we wanted help and I said we were good and of course he proceeded to follow us. I was about to buy a tea but left because of this racist jackass. To the plaid wearing wannabe«Williamsburg hipster douche» go somewhere they haven’t seen any people of color.

So yesterday it was raining really bad and I didnt want to drive from dc to pentagon to pick up tea bags, I called and requested that they allow me to pay via phone and I would have a friend who works in the mall come pick it up. They were willing to do so and that made me more of a fan of this place. :)

I really like Teavana. they used to have a wonderful Thai tea, which has been replaced by a new version. still good, but not quite That tea. I went in today to pick up a small bag of the new Thai tea. when I arrived, a woman(manager?) was in the middle of a phone interview, it seemed. she didn’t acknowledge me, so I browsed. after a little while, an employee came out from the back, and proceeded to ignore most of what I was saying. She was so focused on the upsell that she ignored my requests for only 4 ounces. she spoke so fast and didn’t take my Starbucks card, nor did she see that I was handing her a Teavana gift card. completely aloof manager, pushy salesperson, and sloppy store appearance. a bad Teavana overall.

LEASTZENPLACEEVER. I’ve been in there a few times over the past couple months because I really like one of their teas. Each time I am pushed, pushed and pushed. In a past life, I would have told them where they can go, but I feel like I try to be a little more patient now, and of course, THEYBULLDOZEYOU. The clerk insisted on putting nearly $ 70 worth of loose leaf in one of the two bags I needed to blend the flavor I was looking for. «I still need to get the other flavor, too,» I said. She responded, «I’m trying to get you the 10% discount.» Who wants a 10% discount? I think if I bought a pound, I’d save 10%. A POUND. To make the blend I want, that’s $ 150WORTHOFTEA. Something like that, it happened so fast and she was unrelenting. And there were people behind me waiting and watching to the side. It was just embarrassing. I imparted that I’ve never made it at home and don’t even know if I can replicate what they make, I’d rather not that buy that much. Instead of asking me how much I’d like, she just took a scoop out and asked annoyed«Is that enough?» It was still $ 40 worth of tea(and only one of the two types I needed). Now I was pissed. I basically repeated myself but louder and impatiently and she took another scoop out and said there is a 2 oz. minimum. «OK, then I’d like 2 oz.» The scale read 2.6. I was like«Can you get it down to 2»? She said«It’s really hard to get it exact.» AREYOUKIDDINGME? I used to do the same thing with nearly microscopic coffee grounds. Getting it exact is easier than shaking me down. QUITBEINGTERRIBLE.

I love their tea. But recently while Christmas shopping I walked out of here without buying anything primarily for one reason — the stalking and pushy nature of the staff(one in particular). A polite«I’m just looking» should have been sufficient to get this gentleman to back off, but it wasn’t. Exceedingly annoying. I ended up buying my tea two days later at their Tyson’s location where I received exemplary customer service.

Ruder than a morning fart. I was here for ten minutes, and all I took away from this experience was impolite employees and a micromanaging shift supervisor. Every tea I requested to smell was a burden for the employee to pull out and show. Teavana’s teas suck, anyways. They smell amazing, which is how they get you to buy their junk, but they taste like a little girl’s dashed hopes of getting Justin Bieber’s autograph. Lead-based paint chips taste sweet, too, but you don’t see me making tea with them… …steer clear. Ever notice how they try to unload more of their merchandise with this trick: CUSTOMER: I’ll have two ounces of the pu-erh tea, please. TEAMONGER: Sure! [measures out tea] Ooh, looks like I poured 2.1 ounces, is that ok? At this point, you can be a sucker and say«that’s fine», or look cheap and have them pour out the 0.1 ounces. Not much of a difference for you, but it adds up for the company. Your call. Look up Adagio Teas. I ordered 14(yes, 14; I’m a hardcore tea drinker) types of teas from them, and they’re much better than Teavana.

I walked into a Teavana, for the first time, in The Fashion Center at Pentagon City. Not being sophisticated, I asked the tall lady«do you sell cups of tea?» Answer:“this is a tea place, why wouldn’t we?” Ok, my mistake. «What flavors are featured or recommended?» Answer«we have hundreds, what do you want? «That wasn’t said nicely. You could have educated me and I would have bought more than just a cup. But, you put me in my place, I guess. I went and got my Earl-Gray at Au Bön Pain. Never again Teavana!
