The Sam Adams Brewhouse is located inside the gate area at Washington Reagan. The seating area was SOSMALL. We ended up sitting at the bar. We each got Sam Adams brews on tap and were promptly served. We selected from a variety of deli items and ended up getting sandwiches, both of which were plump and good-tasting. The chips were prepackaged, but obviously old(chewy). The prices were kind of high, but that’s to be expected in the airport.

Absolutely the worst service I’ve experienced in quite a while.(bad enough for me to write this review during a layover) Upon arrival, one server barely responded when we asked if we had to seat ourselves. After grabbing one of the 10 seats in the place, a gentleman named Brady came over to ask us what we wanted. Didn’t offer a menu, so we weren’t sure if they even had food. When he came back with the beers(as expected, pretty expensive) we asked for a menu and were given one. and that was the last we saw of him. Sat there for 30+ minutes without any followup while he and the other girl on duty chatted with each other and texted on their phones.(ironically there is a large sign at their cash terminal that states«no cell phones») We figured out pretty quickly that the menu consisted of items from the deli across the hall, so we decided to leave and grab a quick pizza instead. Couldn’t even get him to come over with the bill, so I had to get up and go to the bar and ask for it. Tipping $ 2 for two beers is light for me but given the circumstances was generous. Chances are you’re not going to be checking Unilocal for your food options in this scenario, but I certainly hope you do before experiencing what we did. It’s a shame that Sam Adams’ name is attached to a place with such poor service.

Not enough chairs for the weary travelers, but I digress. The service here was subpar. Not because it was busy, but because the employees didnt know the name of the beers, let alone what theyre doing. I watched numerous people wait at tables, get frustrated and go when they werent served. I decided to cut my losses and just stand at the bar, the service was a tad better, but I still wasnt even remotely good. I asked for a Cherry Wheat and had to point to the tap a few times before she got it. Ummm… it says«Cherry Wheat» right on the tap… The only reason this place is getting 3 stars is because of the beer. I mean, how can you go wrong w/a Boston Lager, Cherry Wheat, Nobel Pils, or Summer Ale? Its much much better than the beer they offer at any other place in the airport. Quick tip: Save yourself the trouble and wait of ordering food here. Theyre just going to call your order over the the deli thats, literally, 5 stops across the aisle.

The only thing good about this place is that it serves beer. You can only have one though because the server only comes back every 30 – 40 minutes. Pretty bad when you have to track them down to pay and then they still look at you crazy. I will NEVER stop here again. It’s not worth it.
