liked the atmosphere a lot. Had some rolls and seaweed salad. maybe it was what we picked out but all the rolls we got was alright. the service was slow and it didn’t seem to be too busy in there but being a server myself I know service can depend on a lot of different things; how long it takes for food to come out of the kitchen, if servers mix foods, if the bar takes longer on making drinks for the tables or their customers, etc. but I will definitely go back to try it again. hopefully it will be a better sushi experience

Had a really good date night here tonight. We sat at the bar. Anthony is a great sushi chef. He’s very friendly.

My brother-in-law picked up a few rolls(takeout) the night before our thanksgiving feast. I was surprised he brought back sushi instead of Tex-Mex or steak… we are in Dallas! I ordered a California roll, since you can’t mess that up, and was pleasantly surprised. Pretty good sushi for a landlocked city. I enjoyed the roll.

Happy hour is very affordable. And pretty good. Jalapeño poppers are lightly battered and filled with cream cheese. Hamachi roll has a clean fresh taste. Wasabi crusted salmon roll has a delicious crunch and the forget about it roll is always a crowd pleaser. Went at 5:30 pm, only a few couples there and waited 8 minutes to be greeted, though our eventual hostess who had made eye contact with me twice, came over and asked if we’d been helped. Service was slow and inattentive. Disappointing.

Sushi was delicious. We sat outside since the weather is nice and isn’t too cold today. Service was the best. Can’t remember the waitress name but she never checked on us after ordering the food. I would come back here again though, yummy food.

Seriously best service ever!!! The food is great also! I order the wrong drink he took it back no problem. We got our food, I liked my hubbys sauce more then mine so the waiter saw me stealing dips from my hubbys sauce. Without asking he brings me a sample plate of sauces of my own before I ate all of my husbands:) Very clean and well decorated and the staff is very attentive and friendly!

I have to give this place 5 stars because I love it so much! My boyfriend and I opt to go here at least once a month because everything about this place is so great. Quick & attentive service(ask for Nam as your waiter!), friendly chefs, yummy drinks, good live music on weekends, and of course, amazing food. Though it is on the pricier side of sushi, it is so worth. Every time we come here, we don’t order any of the rolls listed on their menu. What we do is tell our favorite chef Chet to surprise us with whatever he feels like making. Usually he’ll ask us what fish we prefer, and from there he’ll improvise. You can see a few of the many many creations he’s made for us from the photos I’ve posted. Not only do they look exquisite, but how they taste is TODIEFOR! Chet never fails to bring to the table an interesting combination of flavors and something new, different, and tasty each time. Oh, and I don’t know what it is about the place but everybody here is SO friendly! I’m talking about the customers too. Somehow we are always able to strike up a conversation with random strangers sitting around us. It makes dinner that much more enjoyable. If I had to pick one sushi restaurant *and one sushi restaurant only* to go to for the rest of my life, Piranha would be my pick, hands down!

We came here for a mellow Labor Day lunch. It was fairly empty, just a couple other occupied tables. There were two girls on the patio braving the hot weather(it’s a really nice patio, but too hot for me!). We were greeted and seated right away, and that same person was our server. She was really sweet and helpful. We got a tuna tower, spicy tuna roll, and tuna & salmon sushi pieces. I got a house cocktail(ginger pear) and my boyfriend got an Asahi beer. Everything came out staggered like you expect at sushi and the server brought our drinks after the food came as requested. Everything was fresh, tasty, and pricing was on par with most sushi restaurants. I feel very happy this restaurant is right down the road because it’s really top notch.

Love coming here with my hubby! We come here once a week since it’s not too far from us about 20 mnts drive. I love the food & deserts. I’ve always get volcano Roll & fried green tea ice cream. It’s so yummy. I love having sushi for dinner & having some patio time sipping some cold icy drinks. Unfortunately, the patio seems has a mosquito problem that makes it very unpleasant for us to enjoy our meal. I’d love to put 5* for this review but I’m gonna wait till they get their patio situated and taking care of the mosquito issue

Definitely get to know your sushi chef! These guys were beyond 5 stars, they went above and beyond when they realized I was ready to taste their creations, their unique expressions. It worked. I finally had spicy tuna that had a little heat in it! Sashimi was great quality and they had amazing pickled sides beyond the usual ginger. Pickled eggplant, radish and a third one that I’ve forgotten. All three were amazing, adding better taste and texture than the ginger. Sit at the bar. Talk to the chefs. You will love it.

Started off with the miso soup which was right. If you’ve had it wrong then you know what I mean. I ordered a sushi bento box. Nice presentation and sashimi was fresh. Rice and salads lacked flavor. The sushi rice was plain Cucumber salad improved after the requested addition of rice vinegar(sushi vinegar). Over all good sushi and nice waiter. I would come again.

Been coming here since they opened. This is the original location. I’m done. Last couple years noticed sushi not that fresh. This afternoon(Sunday 5:15) told that happy hour was over at 5 even after we told them their website said 6. That’s just wrong and deceitful. I see this location closing in next year. Thankfully there are a number of sushi bars in the area.

I ordered crab cakes during happy hour and was surprised to see TWO crab cakes on my plate instead of one, which made me even happier. It started to get busy and my waitress disappeared for quite awhile. I made a request for more water and a box to go, and it took over 15 minutes for each request.

Piranha’s is pretty nice and decent, but a more pricier sushi restaurant in Arlington. The new construction of the whole place has such a cool vibe to it. I always come and get the salmon ceviche as an appetizer. Jalapeño, mangos on top of salmon sashimi, and the sauce… It’s amazinggg. The last time I had it, the jalapeños were so spicy, it left my mouth burning(in a good way though). I haven’t found many ahi towers that I’ve liked besides blue fish’s, but their tuna tower was actually really yummy! I think mainly because they use crab stick instead of crab mix, which I really enjoyed, and also the tuna was good. As for the rolls, I always forget which one I order because their menu is huge! I wish I can remember the name of the roll I had chosen… it was one of the speciality roll on the menu, with soft shell crab, asparagus, crab stick on top. Nonetheless it was our favorite roll of the night! But steer clear from anything with cilantro chili purée… It is a dark green sauce that tasted disgustingly weird, even for a person like myself who LOVES cilantro. I do appreciate how fresh everything tasted though, and how quickly the sushi chef made everything. If you’re not a sushi eater, they also have many cooked items/entrees you can choose from! Only gripe I have like someone else mentioned below, the service I received was slow and inattentive. Waitress did not seem like she wanted to be there.

Wow. This place has gone down hill fast from when I went to school at UT-Arlington. This was the Sushi Mecca of the Metroplex in its day. I called in an order recently of two simple rolls. When I went to pick up I was greeted warmly and waited while they finished up. My feet stuck to nearly every part of the floor, this made it very awkward to walk around ask the sticky snapping noise of my shoes on the floor drew too much attention. My rolls were platted well in the to go box, but boy oh boy were they covered in colored, sugary sauces! Really took too much away from the food. The shrimp tempura tasted like they had been cooked the day before. It was a rough lunch!
