Love the service, love the banter between the employees(obviously related), and great food. All of the pasta dishes here are very solid, casual Italian dishes. The calimari is lightly breaded and seasoned well. I usually go with one of the multiple specials that they run daily. The only complaint that I have is with their salad. I have ordered on a couple of occasions and was not impressed. Lettuce was not fresh and dressing was nothing to write home about. Overall, good, cheap, family Italian food.

Found this place by accident for lunch. Was very quiet and not busy. Great service and food was fantastic. Had the chicken rollatelli. Chicken was a bit dry but that sauce was to die for. Decided to take my family on both sides there for my daughter’s graduation. While the service was lacking(maybe because it was Sunday at 4pm and they weren’t really ready for a large table) the food was fantastic again and my family was very happy that I chose this place. My father n law is a French trained chef and knows his food as do I. He was happy so that’s all you need to know. He had the veal Sicily. Very very good. Portions were perfect. I had the veal calzone which is not a calzone. It’s stuffed veal smothered in a glorious creamy pink sauce over pasta. My dad had a spicy shrimp over pasta plate. The shrimp were plump and very fresh. The sauce was light and bursting with flavor. Greatness. The ladies all tried the chicken rollatelli. Again, slightly dry even though I made a point to request that wouldn’t be. All good though. My daughter had a seafood pasta dish with the creamy pink sauce. She loved it. It’s byob which is nice. Don’t let the exterior fool you. It’s very nice inside. All in all prices and food were great. $ 150 for 8 with two appetizers is unreal. By the way, the calamari seemed to be very fresh. If it’s frozen, they do a good job of masking it. We’ll be back for sure.

We ate there on a Saturday and thankfully had reservations because it was quite crowded. The service was quick and friendly. The entrees were ample portions and could have allowed for leftovers(except it was so tasty that we ate it all)! The side salad with house dressing wasn’t that great, so will probably pass on that next time.

I was new to the area and used Unilocal to find new places to eat. I came across Moni’s great food the owners are so friendly. We eat there often and are greeted as if we were family! Thanks Anna you have 2 customers for life!

My family will NOT stop coming here. We get here about once a week now. I think it’s because their service ROCKS. Very lovable and communicative severs. Ambience is simple. Typical humble, family-owned feel. Nothing wrong with that! We used to order out pizza from here, but now we prefer to dine in. Pizza is definitely good, but their lasagna is even better!(My Dad likes the veal parmigiana.) Paired with a fresh salad, which comes with tomato vinaigrette, it hits the spot. Just come hungry! And opt for the garlic and olive oil with your fresh rolls rather than the butter ;)

This is our first visit here. It won’t be our last! The portions are generous, and the food is quite tasty. The only thing I’d ask to be different, is the bread we were served. It had been reheated almost to the point of being burned. All in all, we enjoyed our Sunday lunch, and will return again.

This place is a gem. We could instantly tell this is a neighborhood spot with tons of regulars. The service was great, everyone was so friendly. My pizza was really good and my husband wouldn’t shut up about his tortellini. This is officially my favorite Italian spot in this town.

The ambience of Moni’s was very busy but not too noisy! There was some dim lighting to set the mood. While we could have used some ketchup for the bread it was good plain. The food came out very fast, and it was great! My boyfriend got the Chicken Permission, which he enjoyed. I had the Vodka Rigatoni, I was expecting to feel a little buzzed from the vodka in the sauce, but unfortunately I was still completely sober by the end of the night. They didn’t even ID me when I ordered! Pretty shady if you ask me. All in all, Moni’s was great and I can’t wait to go back.

Moni’s is the place at the end of the week where you arrive with a bottle of wine and the people you love to be around the most. When you’re tired of cooking and being responsible, weary of work and goals and life struggles. That moment when you realize maybe the best thing you have in life are moments with good food, drink, and company in a cozy place. At least that’s how I feel every time at Moni’s, and gauging from the bursting parking lot and casually dressed folks walking in with multiple bottles of wine, I’m not alone! The food is great. My usual go-to’s are a simple cheese pie or the manicotti. Other favorites are the Fettuccini Leonardo and Capellini di Moni. All of the food is hearty and cooked with love. BYOB of course is always hard to beat. Also, for the celiac’s, Moni’s does a great job with gluten free offerings. All pasta dishes can have GF noodles subbed, and they have a GREAT gf pizza dough. It really is an extremely warm and comforting restaurant. Unpretentious, friendly, caring, etc, etc. Go once and you’ll see why that parking lot ebbs and flows from full to empty based on Moni’s hours! As I literally just moved away from Arlington where I lived within a 5 minute drive, I am sad to not have Moni’s there when I need to take it easy!

A definite 5 stars in every way based on the 3 main things. Price, Quality, and Service! It’s not fine dining or anything, just good food. Moni has been serving Italian in DFW for over 30 years, back when Campisi’s was the only game in town. Moni can be credited for the delicious Homemade Tomato vinaigrette that he shared with all the DFW Italian restaurants. You can purchase a bottle at local supermarkets! The prices are the best over competing Italian restaurants and everything is delicious and memorable. I had the Chicken Parm last night and am craving it again today! Great appetizer selection and a truly awesome speciality menu with large portions. Anytime I’ve been here with a group everyone just raves. It’s BYOB so honestly just another place to save! I can bring a $ 2 buck chuck in there and be happy as a clam. The atmosphere is simple but the murals of famous Italians on the walls are really fun. Even a huge tackily fun painting of Tony Soprano. Great as-is for a family establishment. Moni, his wife, and all the servers give such good service. Moni himself comes by to chat with you and always has interesting stories. They make you feel like guests in their home every time. You always feel stuffed and appreciated when you leave :)! Thanks to these warm people. You can always tell where the good deals and good food are at, based on the retired crowd a restaurant gets. You guessed it, there is always retirees here because they know the deal! Pun intended! Oh and I almost forgot, but how could I? The Alfredo is the BESTBEST I have ever had in my whole life! It’s sinful in every way! Light, creamy, fluffy, non-oily, omg deliciousness!

I’m a fan of carbs. Pizza, pasta, garlic rolls, crispy fried calamari. It’s all good. I don’t discriminate when it comes to carby goodness. Noms. I came here for a Unilocal UYE and had a blast. We were in a room to the side which was bit lacking in the A/C department but oh well. Steamy Unilocalers! We shared some calamari and huge garlic rolls with marinara. I had the tortellini michelangelo sans onions b/c ew. I also snagged some GF pasta, GF pizza and some bolognese. Everything was yummy! The GF pizza was stand out for me– the crust was crispy and crunchy with out tasting like a dry cracker! It’s BYOB so pop into the Tom Thumb across the street and get your booze on. It’s a family run place and you can feel the love when you walk in. Try them out!

After missing the UYE and reading great reviews I was so excited to try this place! The ambiance here is really awesome, I love all of the murals on the wall and the great taste in music that serenades you as you eat! Started off with the cheesy garlic bread that was really quiet tasty! We asked for a side of marinara and they gave us a huge bowl of it! My boyfriend didn’t care for it, but I thought it was good! It’s very garlicy. I had the cheese pizza. It was pretty good. I love greasy cheesy pizza and this definitely met that expectation! I did get to test a bit of the chicken parmigiana. It wasn’t my favorite, so I’ll stick with the pizza!

Moni’s, Moni’s, I’m a fan! They have really got their menu down pat. I’ve had several dishes there and nothing has been disappointing in the least! I always get the ravioli Michelangelo and add chicken. it’s divine. They also have good apps(good calamari but they do serve the whole squid pieces — I prefer just the rings). Big flaky rolls for the table before the meal and good dinner salads — careful, it’s easy to get full before you even get your meal. They always have decadent dinner specials — and not just a couple — they usually have 4 or 5. Service is always reliable and it’s BYOB! I love this place. Consistently delicious(not just okay), and a good time!

Came here for a Unilocal event and it was amazing! The restaurant is in a strip mall and the outside is nothing spectacular but then you go inside. When you step foot in the door you are welcomed by a quaint homey feeling place with a amazing aroma. They held our event in a small room off the entrance. It is BYOB so we didn’t really have to worry about the drinks :-) the menu had great variety. The had vegetarian, poultry, seafood, pasta, soups, and pizza. They also had gluten free options. They served us rolls that were big and delicious; I recommend dipping them in marinara sauce. I ordered the michalegelo tortellini; one of their signature dishes. It had bacon, onions, mushrooms and artichokes with their signature vodka sauce. The dish was amazing! My hubby is a seafood lover so he ordered the zuppa di pesca. It was spaghetti, clams, fish, shrimp, scallops and crab in a spicy marinara sauce. He claims it was light and delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a definite must return to place.

This is a great place to indulge on some reasonably priced pasta(or maybe pizza) in a comfortable/casual setting. The staff was superb. Everyone – from the hostess to the waitresss and the manager – we’re completely accommodating and friendly. The Veal(forget the name but it has alfredo sauce on it) was fantastic and I recommend it. The BYOB is quite nice as well. I don’t think there was a corking fee, which was a surprise for us.

We came here based on the Unilocal reviews as we are traveling. We started out a little rough because we weren’t that happy with our dishes but the owner/manager fixed things way beyond our expectations. The food was fresh made, appropriate temperature and delicious. Amazing service. We will definitely be back. Cheese bread is delicious as are the shrimp with spicy marinara and the ziti in a pink cheesy sauce.

We were getting dessert in the area and the owner said some really good things about Moni’s to us, so we thought we would try it out. Yes yes, we went for dessert before our meal(: This place has such a laid back feel to it. We walked in and were greeted right away and were told to sit anywhere. Service was super quick although we were there on a weekday at 4 in the afternoon… Our waiter was very friendly, very willing to answer questions, and was very honest about the menu. We were given complimentary bread which was crispy on the outside and nice a flaky on the inside. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms in a Marsala cream sauce and cheese and the Tortellini Michelangelo which had a nice pink sauce, mushrooms, artichokes, etc. We split the appetizer and pasta between the two of us, and we were so stuffed that we had to sit a while before we left haha. I’m sure it was partially because we ate a lot of the bread and dipped it in all the nice and creamy sauces but the pasta portion was fairly generous. My bf got tired of the mushrooms after the first 2 but I enjoyed them. He loved loved loved the pasta and said that he found his new favorite pasta place. He told me that we have to come back and that he was going to take his family there soon.

Got a pizza for carry out last night. Ordered extra cheese, extra sauce, with ½ veggie and ½ meat lovers… cut in squares. Pizza looked good, not very saucy or cheesy but ok. Turns out it was originally cut in triangles and they tried to resuscitate it by cutting in squares, which meant I had some very oddly shaped pieces. Turned out it was so blah that a frozen pizza would have probably been very close, if not better. Cost was about $ 19 for a large and quite frankly, for that price, I will stick with The Hut. Sad to see a Mom and Pop place faring so poorly in the pizza competition!
