I wouldn’t even give them one star if I could. Their service sucks! They’re so disrespectful. They don’t follow any food safety rules. I’ve found hair in my food, still have them another chance to find mold on my cheesecake! My friend had mold on her slice of cake too! The manager disrespected both of us despite the fact that they were at fault.

Five star food, two star service. Old School is in this great old house which has been converted into a restaurant, but they left all the original walls intact, so there are great little nooks and corners, giving the inside a cozy, funky feel which I love, and the food is amazing. I’ve never had a bad meal here. That said, we had a really shabby service experience here this last weekend. When we arrived, we walked up to the bar to look at the drink specials and wait for the rest of our party, and the waitress told us to sit down. Three times in about four minutes. Yes, dear. We know to sit down. We’re an incomplete party at the moment, and we’re looking over the bar specials because we want to give you our money. And there’s barely another soul in this place. Then the other two in our group arrived, and we gave them the walk-through so they could see the place since it’s such a fun restaurant, and the waitress, again, told us to sit down. Three times. In the four minutes it took us to look around. Yeah, we were meandering around aimlessly and checking the place out, but there were maybe four other customers in the entire place we weren’t in the way, and we really didn’t warrant being fussed at. Plus, she made a snarky comment — within earshot, I might add — as we were heading back outside to finally sit down. She was much more friendly once we were contained — I just wish she hadn’t been quite so high-strung about getting us to take a seat. All that aside, the pizza totally redeems it. This isn’t fancy, artisan anything-style pizza that’s trying to blow your mind with its creativity, authenticity, or innovation — this is straight-up, incredibly delicious, standard, classic American pizza-pie. Flavorful, pillowy crust .(they’ve got a thin crust option, too), great topping combinations, plenty of delicious, stringy, melty cheese, and prices reasonable you’ll want to order the larger size so you can snack on the leftovers for a few days. My personal favorite is the Mediterranean(artichokes, spinach, garlic, and a bunch of other delicious stuff), but there are plenty of great veggie toppings and you can play with substitutions as well. I’ve also eaten here with plenty of omnivores, and everyone has been impressed. They’ve also got a full bar, which is nice(although don’t loiter around it unless you want to be snapped at by the waitress) — the pours are inconsistent(I swear my drinks got stiffer with every round), but the happy hour is decent, and they’ve got some interesting draft selections. The patio is also very nice(picnic tables!), and they’ve got a stage where they sometimes showcase local music acts. Overall a top notch food establishment — just be aware that you might wind up being waited on by a presumably sleep-deprived, cranky college gal. :-)

I love this place! Great pizza! You can chose thin or thick crust. On tap beer selection is more than you might expect from a small place. Backside patio dining is the incredible best in Arlington!

Found this place by accident. It’s a bit small inside but the back porch is great weather permitting. Some of the best pizza I’ve found in decades. Definitely worth trying. Great beer selection as well and friendly staff. Speedy lunch deals too when you’re in a rush. FYI: Eat in recommended. Pizza for take out gets put in the box right out of the oven which takes all the crispy right out of the crust by the time you get to your destination.

It’s been a long time comin’, Old School. I’m glad I discovered you last year, for you are basically a second boyfriend to me(bonus pts bc my actual bf loves you too). Four thumbs up from us. I’m not a pie girl but when I do crave some, I can go here, or force myself to drive to Bishop Arts District(but I ain’t got time fo’ that). Old School really does the trick sometimes. First things first, the pies are great. I usually prefer thin-crust BUT I tried the double cheese + jalapeños + pineapple pizza deep dish and it was awesomesauce. Something else that’s good for starters here is the Maverick pizza. It’s very filling with lots of cheese, bell peppers, Italian sausage, black olives, pepperoni, and more tasty ingredients that a pizza should have. I know I had the simple Margherita pizza and it was pretty good. On the other hand, I have converted to ordering only the wings. I’m a huuuge fan of the hot wings here. There’s really nothing else I’ve found that compares. That SAUCE doe. Their hot sauce, I believe, consists of habaneros, which is always a good sign of deliciousness. So tender, juicy, and mouth-watering, I will always always order these traditional wangz, for life(or as long as I am in the area). The service is usually pretty good. The girls are chill, and everyone is very laid-back but at the same time, attentive. It’s quite a nice atmosphere. And when it’s warmer out, I like to study outside in their patio seating, and they may have giant jenga set up too, which gives my inner child a real nice kick. :) Can’t wait to do Whisky Wednesday, long-awaited, too. $ 2.50/shot? Yes please!!! But I haaave tried some Angry Orchard here and fell in love with it. Their AO is delish! Not quite sure which type it is, though. Definitely recommend. Oh, and to my UTA students, there’s a 10% student discount if you show your student ID! Very Maverick-friendly, as they have many banners up of our dear Blaze. Mav Up, y’all.

I have been attending UTA for several years now. A friend introduced me to Old School and I love it. The atmosphere reminds me of a Pub and makes me feel at home simultaneously. The service is great and the staff treat you well. Quick with drink orders and food. The food is incredible! I must get my hands on the dough recipe! Especially the chicken Alfredo with bacon and spinach! Thanks Old School for helping me during school!

Probably one of my favorite pizza spots near UTA. I love Old School because of the casual atmosphere, good pizza, and cheap drinks(especially on Sundays when they have all day happy hour). My favorite pizza is the Carnivore pizza, which can be greasy fyi, but includes a variety of different meats. The resturant is a bit small making finding space difficult especially during busy hours. They have a spacious patio, which is a great space to hang with friends during the summertime. The cons of the place is that staff can be wishy-washy on attentiveness. Sometimes, they are really attentive and constantly checking up on patrons, while at other time, you may be completely ignored. All-in-all, definitely recommend this place for their pizzas!!!

BEWARE: WILLCHARGEYOU18% AUTOMATICGRATUITYWITHOUTUPDATINGMENUS& receive terrible service on top of that. After being at UTA for 2 years, I finally visited this place. I had heard good reviews and other places were too far or closing soon so we decided to try it. –I WILLNEVERVISITAGAIN! Pizza was alright but I had better. Service was TERRIBLE. So unprofessional and RUDE. At first, I thought it was because the waitress thought that as college students we would not tip. We spent about $ 60+ on alcohol and pizza. We received our bill and we had an automatic 18% gratuity added. Their menu states that after 6 or more, it’s added. There was NOT6 of us. Of course the waitress was terrible, she was going to get a tip anyways without having to work for it. Um NO, as a former server. If you want a good tip, work for it. They first failed to give us dishes and when they did bring us our plates, they were SOAKING wet. And they want 18%?? I frequent all types of restaurants in DFW and never been charged automatic gratuity with less than 6 ppl When we got the bill, I asked about the gratuity and asked for it back. I tip what is earned. She was extremely unprofessional and rude. Saying that the menu is old and not updated. Apparently now they’re going to charge 18% after $ 25. Outrageous ! After a few words, we did receive our tip back and left her 10% only out of courtesy. I will not pay 18% on that type of service EVER. Update your crappy menus and don’t expect people to be fine with things not stated. It’s ILLEGAL. They have like 10 chalkboards and fail to advertise that new gratuity rule. If I would have seen that, I would have walked right out. I’ll rather eat McDonald’s next door and receive better service without being robbed of 18% to be treated like that.

Finally made it over to try this place as my usual pizza joint is closed Mondays. The restaurant looks like a little cottage both inside and out. Dining is split across several rooms, which have really big tables and really tiny tables and nothing in between. Ambience though has a fun small pub feel. The food unfortunately wasn’t as good as the ambience. My side salad had some dodgy lettuce in it, not full blown rotten but closer than I like to eat it. For pizza we ordered the meatball pizza on thin crust and added black olives. I usually like thin crust but didn’t care for this one. It wasn’t soggy which is good but it had a weird chewy texture and not a great flavor. The sauce is a fresh mild sauce with a hint of oregano but it got drowned out by the crust in my opinion. It wasn’t a bad pizza per se but to me wasn’t a great one either. Service was good, quick and friendly. If I liked the food more I would enjoy hanging out here over dinner and drinks but as it was I wouldn’t suggest it, though I would go if a group of friends was going and wanted me to join in.

I come here on a regular, and I can’t believe I haven’t written a review myself. Me and my Fraternity brothers(couple who are also fellow Unilocalers like Sara Calderon and Renato Ganoza) we’ve had multiple social events and fundraising nights here. My absolute favorite pizza is the Mediterranean. Hands down, best best best. It’s one of their house pizzas. they have four different sizes from personal, small, medium, and large. I got the personal and left very full and satisfied for less than $ 10! The staff is so down to earth and know everything there is to know about their menu and is so accommodating to your customized orders from drinks to food. The drinks here are so reasonably priced its always one of my top hangout spots when I just wanna hang and have a drink or 2. The patio is lit up very nicely at night and music is hip and upbeat always having good energy vibes. It’s a small place, yes and parking is minimal, but if your in the area and want a good pizza and beer night, this should be your first choice! U won’t be disappointed. :)

I am a carnivore and hubby is not. He and a friend studied here after school today and he brought home a large pizza for our dinner. He opted for the vegetarian one, sans mushrooms because I really really don’t like those! Didn’t eat it right away, so it was reheated. I have to say, the veggie toppings tasted so fresh, I was amazed! The onions had a snap, the crunchy green peppers weren’t dry and shriveled up, the tomatoes actually tasted like tomatoes and the black olives… ok, I flicked those off. I was rather surprised I liked this as much as I did, because I am normally a traditional pepperoni, sausage, onion and green pepper girl. But they really did an amazing job! Now, if I can just get him to take me to eat there, that’d be awesome!

Hubby and I wanted to go somewhere fun and laid back to celebrate a new job. Scrolling through Unilocal,we found this awesome place. We ordered the Carnivore pizza(which is a meat lovers dream!) and it was amazing! Sat outside on the picnic bench like tables. Enjoyed the string light setup, and just the relaxed and old school feeling of the place. We weren’t able to stay for the live band that was going to perform, but it sounded nice. Mary was our server, who was both super helpful, nice and had great customer service. We are new to the area, so she gave some tips on some neat places to check out. Also, they do Military discount here. Be sure to let them know when you order! We will be back for more delicious pizza and beer!

Yummy! I was in the mood for a solid pie, and this place did not disappoint! Décor: Well, it’s literally in a house! Each room has very intimate, but roomy, seating with nice TVs! Other than that, your typical pizza dive! Food: Great! The pizza was hot and cheesy! They put the toppings under the cheese(a la Papa Johns), and I LOVE it! It makes for a very cheesy pizza! The late night special was a huge bonus, too! I’ll be back, for sure!

This place has a lot going for it. Great pies and great brews in a great location. It is located in a charming old house that was converted into a restaurant years ago by another restaurant. It is a stones throw from UTA in downtown Arlington. You have the option of regular or thin crust in a variety of sizes. They have a lunch special from 11 – 3. It is an 8in 1 topping pie with a soda for $ 6.99. Not only that, they also have late night specials from 9−11PM. The pies are great and the atmosphere is inviting. Highly recommended.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for Old School. I’ve been here dozens of times, and every time Old School takes incredibly good care of me. Bullet points: — Standout pizza. I’ve seen friends order other things, but for me it’s always pizza… amazing cheese, nice toppings, perfect crust. Can’t get enough. — Best beer selection, environment near UTA. It isn’t rowdy like a bar-bar, and so you can have a conversation with friends and family and also enjoy a good beer. I bring everyone to Old School. Beer prices are super reasonable. — There isn’t a bad seat in the house. Great variety for seating, good lighting throughout the restaurant. On nice days you sit outside. The staff can accommodate large groups, though on weekends you probably want to call ahead. — The staff have always been excellent, very helpful and personable. They’re happy to make recommendations, and they put up with weird pizza orders with amazing grace. In a pinch, they can rule sagely on dumb bar disputes. Seriously good conversationalists. Whenever friends want to meet up near UTA, I always suggest Old School… it’s my Cheers.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. This place is a home run. I can’t say it enough times. Awesome building & good location — an old house, several rooms with tables, a great bar area. They also have an outdoor patio with shade(not totally covered). Near a lot of fun places in Downtown Arlington so conveniently located. Top rate staff — every time I’ve been, the bartenders are funny, friendly, engaging, always ready to make a recommendation. Beers on tap — lots of local options, good drink specials. Menu: Get the pizza. Just do it. I know they have wings and other things, but the pizza is so good. Lots of toppings options for a build-your-own but they have lots of fun combinations on the menu — Mediterranean, a meat-lovers style, etc. Their Caesar starter salad is also good. They also have good pizza size options — a personal that I can make 2 meals out of and a small that my boyfriend can make 2 meals of. Also affordable, and there’s a daily lunch special. I have no criticisms, and I’ve been there several times now. It’s a really, really solid place to hang out for lunch or late afternoon for drinks and snacks to watch the giant TV in the bar and chat with your friends and the bartenders. Definitely give it a try! I think you’ll be hooked!

You know what, everyone needs a place like this within 5 minutes of home. Old School is simple, good pizza with a great selection of beer on tap. The restaurant is located inside an old house with creaky floors and loads of ambiance, a stone’s throw from UTA. The draft selection is mostly craft, usually about 20 to choose from. I prefer their thin crust pizza, which bakes in less than 10 minutes. It’s not the best pizza ever, but it is GOOD and satisfying. After a couple of beers it hits the spot. Service is efficient and friendly. The best seat in the house is right at the bar where you will end up conversing with staff and the other patrons seated around you. Old School is one of my favorite spots in Arlington! Lot of check-ins here for me.

Some of the best pizza you can find in Arlington! With an awesome location for university students, this converted house restaurant offers a chill environment to enjoy pizzas and some drinks, with quality pizzas almost as cheesy as my jokes. ;) Pizza: The pies are dang good here, erupting with toppings, and enveloped with cheese! Anytime I crave pizza, Old School comes to mind to satisfy without the need to drive to Dallas for a decent pizza. With any of their pizzas you are offered the choice of thin crust or the usual, so if you aren’t much of a crusty guy then go thin crust like me. Oh, and ask for ranch(costs extra, but worth it) to dip your slices in, or slather it over your pizza. The Lunch Special(from 11am to 3pm) is a perfect portion size! Enjoy an 8″, one topping pizza with a soda for only $ 6.99! Favorites: If you like a good supreme pizza, the Maverick is loaded with bell peppers, pepperoni, and a good balance of all the toppings you know and love, and if you love a good meat lovers, you need to go with the Carnivore! It is packed, my friends, and DE-licious! Alfredo Chicken pizza is yum as well. I always recommend coming in a group and choosing a couple different pizzas to share! That Carnivore though… mmm. Service: Service has always been great here for me, and the servers are down to earth chill and willing to split checks for you if you choose to come in a group and split a few good pies! Grab some friends for a study break, order a few good pizzas to share, and eat up!
