The store is a hidden gem! By far this is my favorite vintage store in the area. It is also a «mom and Pop» establishment. The store is run by a delightful mother and daughter team along with their perky Jack Russell terrier. I love chatting them up, it’s amazing what one can learn from this intelligent pair. Honestly there is something in the store for everyone. You can easily do gift shopping for your whole family here. If you also have parents or grandparents who are nostalgic and missing something from their past you may find it here. As for the prices the prices are amazing. They really do have good deals on clothing and other items. I got a very beautiful crystal table lamp for only $ 25. One of the perks about this place is they also do consignment. As for consignment they have some of the best and fairest rules in the area. I like this because other consignment stores have taken advantage of me. My favorite thing in summer is walking down the street to the shop and pick something out. This place is like a small museum full of history. History that you can own, and items that of been past family heirlooms that you can pass on to your family. If you are a bit of a romantic like me you will love this place.

I give this place a good start because the actually selection is really nice, the woman inside not to much, she’s kinda cold when you walk in. She doesn’t bother to turn around when you enter her store, and you have to basically speak to her if you want a greeting. No biggie, I look around it’s not so organized, which again, isn’t shocking since it’s a vintage cosignment shop. She has a ton of vintage jewelry, place settings, random things. I really like the store, and if you can spend the day looking through she has some amazing pieces like real 30’s attire.

I adore this place! I haven’t found too too much there in the way of clothes(I always catch great vintage things that I think are cute but could never actually pull off wearing day to day), but they’ve got some amazing purses, coats, and accessories and a lot of *great* home décor stuff(lamps, wall art, kitchen goods). I’ve been several times now and I’m not sure why people think the owners aren’t friendly… they’ve always seemed perfectly nice to me; they’re not INYOURFACE following you around the aisles and proffering help, which is a plus in my book. They even turned off the lights for me(no one else was in the store) to plug in a lamp because I wanted it for my living room but was wondering how bright it’d be. The only thing I don’t like is that you need to either bring cash or be prepared to run across the street to an ATM because they don’t accept debit/credit cards(but, oddly, they accept checks). Not a huge deal, though, especially if you’ve been before and know the drill. I like vintage stores because I like rooting around and finding gems, and this is the perfect place for that.

I’m a HUGE fan of Eclectic Threads living in Arlington. I’ve been bringing my daughter here since she was 10 years old and now she has a great appreciation for the clothing of a different era. Whenever she has a function I’d prefer to pay for an original here beautifully made then something in the Mall others would be wearing. The owner has always been helpful and polite. She lets us browse on our own(sure you have to browse. thats the fun part!) and is always helpful if we have a question. I personally hate the hovering sales staff scenario so I greatly appreciate browsing without being hassled. ignore the dog. I’m here to shop! Now and again I’ve forgotten my check book which has been disappointing but otherwise I come prepared to pay for an amazing find. I’ve bought probably 15 dresses, hats, gloves, shoes and hat bags over the last 8 years. I agree I would buy more with credit card availability but if thats what keep her prices down and doors open, I can work with that. The new location is bigger and makes the browsing a lot easier. I hope everyone else has the fortune to find the classic outfits I’ve managed to buy. Parking is easy– two door up in a small lot.

I only had time to browse the jewelry and accessories. I loved the selection of earrings, bracelets, gloves, hats, handbags/clutches and train cases! I look forward to returning to browse the vintage dresses. I have to agree with other folks in that the owner was not friendly.

Could be a really fun place, went here with the gf and initially found some cool stuff. That said our good experience was immediately squashed by the owner. She is just rude. I can only imagine the success this shop could have with someone pleasant greeting customers. As for the credit card issue, someone needs to tell the owner that she can a) increase prices to compensate for her increasing costs or b) accept that she likely will earn more total profit accepting credit cards because she will likely sell much more(and turn over in this type of business is good, so why not?). Have a policy of customers first and be nice and you’ll see instant improvements in Unilocal ratings and profits!

Fun stuff, wretched service by a cranky rude woman who yelled at her dog who was penned in behind the cash wrap. Were I not in the market for a very specific item with little time to find it, I would have gladly taken my money elsewhere. Even the hand scrawled notes around the shop were terse and rude. If I want dour, snotty service, I will shop in Georgetown! Oh, and THEYDON“T TAKECREDITORDEBITCARDS

Always find something unique and exciting. Great vintage jewelry and scarves — found a BEAUTIFUL vintage Hermes scarf for just $ 100! Owner definitely has a bedside manner, but who honestly cares? You are going there to get unique stuff for a good deal.

So the dog was not so grumpy when I popped in this afternoon but Michelle L’s review may explain why he was parked behind a «DONOTPETTHEDOG» sign.(Which honestly, until now, bummed me out a little. He looked very sweet.) Eclectic Threads is a TRUE vintage store. During my visit, 3 out of the 4 other customers were actually there for costumes and as someone who can not pull off the true to era vintage look, I can understand why. To be fair, some modern apparel with a vintage«feel» did manage to make it’s way onto the racks– I spotted a Mossimo dress clearly from Target during my search. This little storefront is packed to the rafters, so be prepared to sift through a lot in order to find a few gems. I absolutely fell in love with a 1960s sundress from Saks 5th Avenue. It was in perfect condition, the price was pretty reasonable and it would have made a great addition to my work wardrobe. Still, I didn’t walk out with it. Why? E.T. is CASH/CHECK ONLY. And sadly, I usually don’t carry either. All of that being said, if I found myself nearby(and with cash in hand– there is no ATM on site or in the neighboring businesses) I could be convinced to spend a few more hours poking around.

Love this place. The store owner has always been pleasant and helpful with me. I have several pieces from this store that I wear often. I’m in love with the casual vintage dresses, interesting jewelry, and great silk scarves.

I had driven by many times but due to the lack of parking, never had the motivation to go in. One day I saw an open spot and went in. THISPLACEWAS A COMPLETELETDOWN. The store worker was rude/cold and had a dog growling at me. Aside from that, the store was jam packed with junk. It was impossible to even see the clothing on the racks because everything was so cluttered. Antique/vintage clothing are stored on old wire hangers causing divits in the clothing. The fur coats have spots of fur missing. Don’t bother going to check the racks based on sized because it’s all disorganized. I don’t get this place. It’s not a cool trendy vintage store or upscale boutique like I expected. It’s just a small messy store with overpriced used clothing, an angry dog, and dust.

After driving past Eclectic Threads a million times, I finally stopped in this afternoon. I have to say the store is so much fun! You can find all eras of vintage clothing or modern consignment pieces. The store doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is PACKED with clothes! You definitely have to have the time and motivation to sort through the racks as there are so many different styles of clothing to choose from. I was happy to walk away with a dressy skirt from French Connection for $ 19. Make sure you have cash or a check as they don’t accept credit cards.
