From the«Good morning» from Denise up front to coffee waiting at the table from MaryAnn, one feels right at home at this store. The new menu is delicious — try the skillet sugar ham and veggie omelette — but it’s the staff that gives this store a different feel than most restaurants and hooked me into coming back.

They give her a color sheet then when asked they do not have crayons. They do sell them though. What a great sell technic. Very loud and a little slow today. Coffee was not real fresh. Okay let’s add dirty silverware to the list

Food here is pretty consistent; good southern meals at a fair price. Service is another matter; we’d get awesome friendly hosts and cashiers at the front end but our server never smiled, made eye contact, or showed customer«friendliness», if you get my drift. On the other hand, the store is always stocked with interesting candies, toys, and knick-knacks that little kids and 25 year old kids can’t help but love. :)

The place was packed, but there was only 2 of us so the wait was about 10 minutes. The staff was friendly. The food was awesome! I had grandmas breakfast(i think thats what its called) the waiter told me about it, and its not on the menu. It came with two pancakes, hashbrown casserole, 4 strips of bacon(or sausgage), 2 orange slices and eggs. My boyfriend had the country fried chicken with pinto beans, mac n cheese, gravy and fries. We will definitely be coming back here!

Stopped by today with a friend to have breakfast. Our server was Nathalie and she was so nice. I had 2 eggs, over med. with bacon and biscuit. My friend had 2 poached eggs, bacon and grits. All of our food was cooked perfectly and came really quickly. Nathalie kept our drinks filled but was never intrusive. I am glad to have this place in my neighborhood. Thanks, Nathalie!

Country-style food so good that it will almost remind you of the real thing. Almost.

I took my mother to CB on Bowen Road in Arlington this past Friday for lunch. Mom had a chicken salad and I ordered Chicken Fried Steak w/fried okra and mashed potatoes. I’ve been to Cracker Barrel many times during the past 30 years but this was my first time to the Arlington /Bowen Rd location. Our waitress was Jxxx. No smile, no personality. First, it took a long time to get our drinks. When I asked for sugar, she came back with both fists full of sugar packets. I wasn’t sure she was being a smarty pants but I got a weird feeling about it. Then it took a while before she took our food order. I’m not a picky eater but I requested the gravy on the side(I prefer to use the gravy more as a dip). Finally, when the food comes, it’s not the waitress who brings it but who I believe is one of the managers. He told me my plate was hot, put the plates in front of us and walked away. Mom was holding up her glass hoping for a refill. Not to be. She was given her salad without dressing. My food was NOT hot… steak was hard as a rock, served with gravy and the mashed was a clumpy cold mess. As I’m assessing this, it occurred to me that this plate looked like it might have been rejected by someone else and taken back to the kitchen where it ended up being sent to me. Waitress came around 10 minutes later. By then, we had both ate most of our meals. Mom and I got our refills and she apologized for my plate being served with gravy. We were there for 1 ½ hrs total. Way too long and not necessary! So, that’s the CB standard. We were treated like we were in a cafeteria. This could have been a better experience if management cared but they don’t and for that reason, I will never EVER go into a Cracker Barrel EVER again.

Went to Cracker Barrel last night for National Pancake Day. We were going to go to iHop, but figured CB would be less crowded on a Tuesday night. When we arrived we were told the wait would be 5 minutes. Great! The wait ended up being 25 minutes long. It was fine — we browsed the huge gift shop but we were super hungry. After we were seated in the main dining room I looked around and noticed it was mostly empty. There were 5 other tables of people dining. However, there were SIX tables that had dirty plates and cups on them. The floor was covered with trash — napkins, pieces of food, a menu, etc. When the couple at the table next to us got up, their table also was not bussed. The food was mediocre — I’ve never had a bad breakfast meal at CB but this has certaintly changed my opinion. The biscuits were dry, the scrambled eggs were unusually wet and runny, the bacon didn’t taste great and the sausage tasted like it had been frozen and reheated — it was tough to chew. When we left, there were 8 total tables(including ours) with trash on them that needed to be bussed. Please take greater care to keep your restaurant clean! We likely won’t be returning.

I went here yesterday at 2:57pm we were seated at a table we sit there for 20 mins and nobody ever came to the table. I went and told the hostess that sit us down and she said she would take care of it. She came back to the table and said that someone will come shortly and that the manager was going to come and talk to me. A waitress arrived shortly after and stated she wasn’t my waitress but to would take care of us. We placed our drink and food order with her and. About 5 – 6 mins later a male waiter brought our drinks and never once apologized for the long wait. I asked for a straw three times and he never brought one. I ordered a kids meal for both my kids that were with me and my daughters kids meal was supposed to be dumplings and mac n cheese and my son had grilled cheese and dumplings on the ticket i was charged for a chicken n dumplings and side of mac n cheese. The manager never came and spoke to me and i didnt bother complaining anymore i just paid for it and left. With service like this I wouldn’t return ever to this location. The food at cracker barrel is good but not worth the bad service.

Oh my I’m stuffed. Great breakfast! I got pancakes smooth texture and yogurt was fresh. Orange juice was freshly squeezed. Coffee was okay. Super crowded but it’s worth it. The store has a lot of cute gifts and jewellery. Check them out.

Don’t go Sunday after church. Crazy busy. Good place for good country food but busy Sundays at 12.

Cracker Barrell and I have sort of a love hate relationship.. I love coming here for a relaxing breakfast, but I hate that this place has such good food, I don’t want to stop eating until I’m miserable. Customer service is excellent and because breakfast isn’t time consuming, they’re able to get you in and out without delay. Best pancakes you’ve ever tasted. I promise

This place was a HORRIBLE experience! I ordered to– go and my food was freezing! I had raw broccoli, and some of it was rancid, a tiny portion of chicken, the mashed potatoes were dry, and tasted like broccoli.(my broccoli was in a separate container, so it wasn’t because it ran together.) One plate was supposed to have fries and there were hardly any on the plate! My lettuce was old and wilted! This meal was supposed to be for my parent’s anniversary and it was awful! I wasted $ 40.00, on bad service and terrible food!

Let me just say that for the most part, the people who work at Cracker Barrel are awesome. They are usually very kind and accommodating. We went to Cracker Barrel and ordered to go. We wanted two separate orders. The waitress who took our order refused to enter them in that way. She said we could separate them at the cash register. Why she wouldn’t let us separate our orders, I have no clue. Anyways, we go to the cash register to pay and the hassle to separate our orders was so unneeded. We both ended up paying for each other’s dinners because they told us the wrong thing. When the food finally came, it wasn’t even separated. We had to go through and separate our food in the middle of the store. In the middle of this unneeded stress, we did not realize that a few of our side items were missing. It wasn’t until I was home and after a phone call to my friend that we figured it out. This is not the first time that I haven’t received my hashbrown casserole. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? All of this could have been avoided if the waitress who took our order had allowed us the two separate orders that we had asked for. We will continue to dine in but the to go process could really use some help and some customer service.

The food was good but a bit too noisy, probably because it’s s Saturday morning. If you’re gonna bring your parent or grand parents here that are hard of hearing, good luck. I’d probably come back.

I love eating breakfast here but I also love their dinners like the meatloaf or chicken fried steak. The sides taste a little canned, some of them, but for the most part the food is pretty good. The service on the other hand has always been hit or miss for me. This location can be really busy at times, so it’s no wonder the service can be slow, especially if you end up with an inexperienced waiter/waitress. I love the gift shop and the coziness of the place, especially when it’s cold out and the fireplace is on. I have noticed lately that the portions have appeared to be smaller! What’s up with that? Do the people at Cracker Barrel really think their customer’s won’t notice. I ordered a breakfast with eggs, bacon, and the casserole which is to die for, yet it didn’t appear to fill my plate like it used to. Hmmmmm? If I’m paying $ 8 or $ 9 plate, I better be getting that amount in food, you know what I’m saying? I don’t like the place being so loud but in order to accommodate so many people or reduce wait times, they have begun to place more people together in the dining areas. Not a pleasant experience for me. The last time I ate there, I could hear every word of conversation coming from the couple practically sitting right next to us. Very unpleasant. I would rather wait longer for a table than sit too close to a stranger while I’m eating a meal I’m paying for. Hint, Hint. For these reasons, I give this place two stars.

Took my Mother for Mother’s Day on Monday the 11th… day after because I didn’t want to get into the nightmare of restaurant BUSY!!! I’ve worked in the industry for 10 years. We were seated quickly… at 12:30PM. Waitress took our order quickly. My mother ordered. I ordered. Ordering a chicken fry chicken gravy on side, I was told, there was no white gravy. I would have left immediately for not my 85yr old mother. Waitress tell me only brown available. I say that OK just put to side. Food was served, brown gravy on top of nasty, hard crusted chicken fry, fried okra soggy, carrots like mashed potatoes!!! Onions on gravy!!! And I was sick by 7PM with only LUNCH in my stomach! Just pray my Mom not sick! I have eaten at crackle barrels in a lot of areas and only found it to be a great meal!!! MANAGEMENTWHEREAREYOU!!! Wanda Parker

Service was outstanding. The food is very reasonably-priced. We tried the buttermilk pancakes with real maple syrup, the pancakes were very light and fluffy. The hashbrown casserole was very good, it had a taste of cheddar cheese, sour cream and onion. My husband’s rib eye was awesome and cooked perfectly. We will be back.

Cracker Barrel is always a great choice when wanting to do brunch in Arlington, a city not known for its brunch scene. There are both breakfast and lunch/dinner options available to suit everyone’s wants. I always go for their breakfast and order the exact same thing every single time because it’s just that delicious: Momma’s Pancake Breakfast. Service is generally good but on Sunday afternoons during the after church rush, it can get kind of spotty. That hiccup can be avoided by coming at another time like on a Saturday morning and that issue goes away.

I’d have to say it’s been well over a decade since the last time I had Cracker Barrel, but it still tastes the same as I remember. It used to only be a place we would go to on family road trips down to North Carolina. I chose the safe route and got the Roast Beef dinner, it was alright except they decided to leave out the gravy, I asked for brown gravy on the side for the potatoes, the sides I chose were carrots, mash potatoes and mac and cheese, it was all alright. We also ordered the breaded Catfish for my boyfriend since I don’t really cook/eat seafood. LOL He enjoyed it a lot so that’s good enough for me! If you like down home country southern food then come here not a big menu to choose from but good food for your money!
