Wow, it is hard to imagine airport food would being unbelievably great! This will exceed your expectations… spicy grilled lamb balls is my recommendation!

Normally I love Cava, but this place was a let down. The breakfast bowl was good, but it was mostly potatoes, with MAYBE one egg. They also overcharged my credit card, probably due to the fact that they were so overwhelmed and haven’t figured out how to handle the morning rush. It may still be one of the better food options at DCA, but certainly doesn’t meet the standards that Cava aspires to elsewhere.

I’m not normally at Terminal B at National, but found myself there this morning. Cava Mezze is a well-known chain in DC and I opted for one of their breakfast bowls. I had it with egg, potatoes, falafel, salsa, and lemon tahini. The eggs were fresh, and so was everything else. The attendant was a tad bit brusque, but not enough to put a damper on my great morning. This was one of the best airport breakfasts I’ve had in a while. This is a great option for a hot meal if you don’t feel like standing in line for eons at the sit-down restaurant across the hall!

People DIE for cava mezze, and I probably shouldn’t have tried it for the first time at the airport, but I did and meh. I have been super excited one is opening near my house in shaw, and I’ll likely give it a try, but the service was unfriendly, the portions were stingy, and I just didn’t love it. In their defense it was breakfast hour and they serve a breakfast version and I imagine the airport requires it, but no, no hummus with my eggs, thank you very much! It’s still one of the better options at the airport, props to Dca for bringing in local chains. Kinda bummed I wasn’t at the terminal where &pizza is.

Heathy Mediterranean cuisine with plenty of options to tailor your meal. Rice bowl or pita bread option to start with … Lemon or plain rice to start the bed then add on meats and veggies with varied choices of hummus varieties.

The Mediterranean version of Chipotle. We need something like this in LA! I got to try the shredded beef and the falafel for the protein. The shredded beef was scrumptious! The falafel was good but not crispy at all. As for the sides and sauces, I don’t even remember what I put. There were so many choices, I just had them toss in everything that sounded good to me! EDIT: I was just informed by Cava(impressed!) that they actually have 2LA locations. One in Westwood and one in Topanga. I work near Westwood so yay for me!

Super fresh and delicious! The falafel is the best I have ever had. Now I know why there was I huge line when I first passed it… the line got shorter and got a bowl despite the fact I already gotten food. I also recommend the feta dip! The staff was also very pleasant. Enjoy!

Great option for fresh, health and tasty food before your flight. My breakfast bowl cost something like $ 7.50 and contains two falafel patties, an egg, rice and all the toppings you want. First time I’ve eaten here so I tried a bit of everything, including spicy harissa and lemon tahini and lots of olives(love olives!!). It’s quite tasty and perfect to take on the plane. Service was friendly and speedy. Two thumbs up!

Very affordable food anywhere especially an airport. Food was good quality and well made. They have a good variety to choose from. It’s set up like a chipotle or subway.

The food is very good with a good selection if you like Middle Eastern dishes. Prices are not bad for airport food. I would eat here again if I have a long wait at the airport in the future. Only problem I had was there were 4 people working behind the counter and they were all doing something with the food on display. The three of us in line were right in front of them. They did not acknowledge we were there until I asked if I could get some food.

Good value and tasty. I got the Kid’s Meal and it’s just nice for me. I didn’t know what to choose, so I asked the guy to put whatever most popular ingredients in my bowl. I got the Carrot Ginger Lemonade, it tasted a bit weird but still ok. Reagan Airport has free wifi. P/S: Purple cabbage salad is good.

Pleasantly surprised by Cava. A fairly healthy alternative while waiting for a flight. Not that there were many options in this terminal. Beat eating Mc Donald’s or spending $ 25 for a plate of mediocre looking food in a crowded space… or a bag of chips and a twix. I don’t eat at Chipotle and was wary since it’s pretty much exactly the same except– Mediterranean. I’m glad I took a chance because it was surprisingly really good. I got the grains and greens bowl with organic arugula, basmati rice and black lentils. Falafel for the protein. Spicy red peppers and both red pepper and regular hummus. Topped it off with pickled onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and cauliflower quinoa. The beer was really good too. Never heard of it: DC Brau? Pleasant service. Going to keep an eye out for these in other cities.

Wow an airport place to eat being rated 4 stars so my expectations were high because this high of a rating at an Airport is rare. Style is similar to chipotle but Mediterranean style. Pick your rice, add lentils, any three of the Mediterranean dips/sauces, a protein and a whole bunch of toppings, you can pick all eight toppings if you want, it’s a mix of mainly the various Mediterranean salads. I had the falafel and it was the most horrible falafel I ever had, hard and tasted like leftover from last week, the hummus was not that tasty, not consistent and didn’t taste fresh.

Food and service are great. The only detractor is the ignorant customers who take forever to choose among the options. Just pick something people. We ain’t got time to wait(it’s an airport)

So after I had the opportunity to try the Asian version for Chipotle, it’s about time to try the Mediterranean version :) So I had about an hour to wait before the boarding, and I felt like eating something. there were not too many attractive options in the terminal I’ve been, and Cava Grill seemed like the most promising one. I had to wait in line, because apparently many people felt the same. The line issue was OK, the annoying part of that was that the employees wanted me to choose what to put in the bowl, when I’m at the beginning of the line, without even seeing how the different options look like… I asked them to wait until I get closer. Eventually, I took the green-grain bowl, with both falafel and vegetables. The dips I took were Hummus, eggplant and feta, and I mixed it all with different toppings. I really really liked it. It was very tasty and the price was pretty fair(especially for airport… about $ 10) Will definitely try the Cava Grill option again.

This is comparable to a Mediterranean Chipotle. All ingredients are really fresh and the meat and sauces that you get to choose have so much flavor. I chose the braised lamb with brown rice on lettuce with Sriracha yogurt. SOGOOD I definitely recommend trying this place if you like Mediterranean food! 4 stars!

Some of the best airport food I’ve ever had! Lucky that I was flying out of Terminal B. Cava Grill follows the Chipotle-style, assembly line way of food that you see so often these days. Choose your base, dips and spreads, protein and any toppings you’d like. I was a huge fan of the spreads. There aren’t many restrictions in terms of what you can order — if you want more than one protein, you can always add extra. It’s plenty of food no matter what you decide on. Great stuff — hope to see more of this at other airports.

If you know my sister, you know she is your quintessential fussy eater. This place however, makes her happy! :) Service is quick and the ingredient fresh. Love their chicken and their falafel. The fatty that I am, I always prefer the white basmati rice over the brown — love the way they cook their white rice! I also love their crazy feta and the tzatziki sauce. My favorite topping hands down is the pickled onions, and my sister loves their cucumber salad. They manage the cranky airport crowd pretty well and are usually well staffed. also like the fact that the place is pretty clean and well stocked at all times. They take all credit cards, but more than once they refused to accept my LevelUp rewards payment becuase they said their machine was not working– bummer, given that I am a complete rewards whore. For that, my friend — I do dock a star!

With the opening of Cava Mezze Grill in the B terminal, passengers traveling through gates 1 – 22 finally have a quality take-away meal option. If you’ve never been to a Cava Grill, this is a DC-area chain of Chipotle-style quick service restaurants serving healthy Mediterranean-influenced fare rather than Tex-Mex. In other words, it’s BETTER. Healthy, filling, spicy if you want, mild if you prefer, great for taking on a plane… My only advice is to use discretion. If you take every topping available, you could end up with a confusing mess of flavors. As for proteins, I’ve had the felafel, the chicken, the lamb meatballs and the regular meatballs. It’s all good!

Finally open! The airport recently made a bunch of changes to the B terminal. Some good, some bad. Fortunately, opening a Cava Mezze Grill is great! I had a early flight so I got to Cava during breakfast hours. It’s always interesting to see what these new Chipotle-style chains make for breakfast that generally only serve lunch and dinner. I can’t say how happy I am to be able to eat a healthy and delicious breakfast at an airport. Generally, it’s greasy breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and other high-glycemic foods like potatoes, hash-browns, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I love that stuff but I can only eat it once in a while if I want to stay healthy and in shape. I got a breakfast bowl with a half-spinach, half-rice base. Added the grilled chicken-sausage meatballs, veggies, an egg, feta, and some yogurt-dill sauce. Everything was great and the grilled chicken-sausage meatballs are a great additional to normal menu meats. I’ll probably end up grabbing breakfast here on all my morning flights. Great addition to the airport.
