The food is great. I love the pork cutlet. Get it almost every time. Pies are great. Ham and cheese was good, good bbq sandwich and good beans. Food gets 4 stars. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes they’re great and are glad to see you. Sometimes they are pissed off that you showed up and are just plain rude. I’m fairly certain that the early lunch service is the polite group.

Traveling so first time here and will be back if we are in area. Generous portions on both sliced beef and smoked sausage sandwiches. Very tender and sauce seems to have a touch of chili powder which made it interesting but very very good. Hush puppy appetizer delish and served with butter that you don’t need. Very moist with a little taste of jalapeño but not hot flavor. Portions seen on catfish and ribs were large. Topped if off with peach cobbler that is also recommended. Don’t miss this place if your in town.

Excellent food and service. Will definitely stop here again when in the area. Food came out fresh and hot and was wonderful. Recommend the fried pickles as an appetizer and don’t forget your fried pie to go.

Was not fresh, tasted like everything was reheated giving everything a weird taste. Décor and waitresses are very sweet. I am out of town was hoping for good BBQ and this was a big disappointment.

Excellent place to eat. Tried the pork sandwich, catfish, and pork cutlet. All were outstanding! Fried pies to go but they look great. Definitely a must if you are in town.

Staying overnight on a cross country drive, our hotel concierge recommended this place. Good food, good for the kiddos, and apparently popular with the locals.

Are here on a Tuesday evening around 5pm. The lot was starting to fill up and by 6pm the place was packed. I ordered the 5-piece catfish dinner. The catfish was freshly prepared and piping hot when served. Obviously the catfish is fried. However, it was not greasy at all. Serving size was large. I was surprised at the size of the filets. Masterfully done — nice crisp on the outside and moist white meat on the inside. Hush puppies were excellent as well. A few bits of jalapeño in each puppy provided just the right zip. Tuesday is steak night and my father ordered the rib-eye. It looked very good and must have been because he never offered me a bite! I will definitely keep Fat Boys on my hit list for future Arkansas visits!

The food was good… service good… but my portion was small… didn’t really seem like they were too fond of black people… I paid 15.00 two meats two sides… really small portion… will not come back

Stopped through here on the way back to Dallas, and I’m glad we did! Friendly service, and the food is wonderful. Fairly priced for BBQ and seafood, and right off of the highway so you don’t have to get too far off track. The catfish is perfectly seasoned, and the brisket was tender. I’d go back again, this time on purpose.

Lousy staff with hostile unappreciative staff. Take your hard earned money where they treat you like a valued customer.

First off let me say that my wife and I have both worked in the food industry. We are very easy, polite customers to wait on that tip very good. With that being said… Good food terrible service! The waitress acted like she was half asleep and after looking around it seemed like every staff member was also. I had the vibe they did not want us there and it became so uncomfortable that we ate faster so we could leave. We don’t plan on going back any time soon which is unfortunate because the food is good.

Holy smokes this is good food! Get here as soon as you can! The pork cutlet is tenderized and grilled perfectly. The brisket is perfect flavor and not full of grease.

I’m not one to leave reviews to restaurants, thus restaurant is my one and only exception. The food here is some of the best food I have ever tasted. This is coming from a Chicagoin where food lives in the city. The cutlet sandwich here is worth dying for. I think I would travel to Arkansas more often just to eat this sandwich. Honestly it’s unbelievable.

Wanting to avoid the fast food options at this pit stop on our road trip, we opted to try Fat Boys Fine Dining & Catering. Overall it was a good dining experience and definitely would be favored over fast food. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich, no slaw, sauce on the side, and fries. The fries were skin on, salted to perfection, hot and crisp. The brisket was not all to impressive, mind you it wasn’t bad at all, but I have high expectations for my brisket. The waitress was unable to tell me how long they smoke the brisket, but appearance-wise, it looked good with nice smoke ring. Flavor-wise it was a little bland. The flavor of the«Hickory» smoke was not detectable, leading me to believe that they perhaps use oak in conjunction with the hickory. The meat was tender and moist, the rub also went relatively undetected. The sauce they serve with the meat does compliment it and pulls it back into being tasty, unfortunately the meat can’t stand on it’s own. My lunch companion ordered the catfish sandwich with fries. The filets came out hot and hanging off the edges of the bun. The breading on the filets was crisp and very delicious. The staff was polite, the food came out fast, and the bill for our combined meals was roughly $ 20.

Fantastic meal and great service. After miles of searching for food that wasn’t fast-food we were very happy to find this gem close to the highway. Pulled pork and chopped beef sandwiches were very tasty. Kid-friendly menu. If you have kids with you on your travels, don’t wait to get settled inside before you use the restroom. It’s located back outside by the parking lot. Great place!

A pleasant alternative to the usual spate of fast food joints, Fat Boys offers a decent, not overly smoky chopped brisket… and the best hush puppies I have had in over 50 years. Ping pong ball-sized chunks of heaven, they were. Friendly service, too. This is clearly a place for locals, but long-distance travelers who wish to get off the beaten path(figuratively, not literally — this place is right off the highway) will be welcome here.

What a great stop this was for us. If you live in the area you are very lucky and if you are traveling down I30 between Texas and Arkansas, you have got to kick back and rest here with some good BBQ and wonderful service. They were kind to our dogs making sure they had water, offering the trees in the back so they could relieve themselves in the shade and bringing a to-go cup of water for them. Good people, good food. Thank you !!!

We came here since pretty much everything else around the hotel was chain restaurants. Also, it was right next to the hotel. You can tell lots of locals come here. No weird looks, just people enjoying their meals and chatting it up. I believe it was the owner, he walked by and greeted us. The waitress was nice. Pulled Pork Sandwich — My guy got this and seemed to enjoy it. He got cole slaw and liked it. He also got the baked beans and didn’t really care for it. Combo Plate — I chose the ribs and beef brisket(sliced). Both were tender and good. They didn’t have much smoke to it, so I believe it’s boiled. I thought their BBQ sauce was good too. I decided on the baked potato salad since I read the good reviews. I thought it was good and unique, but a bit too much sour cream. I also got the green beans and thought they were okay, a tad salty. Fries — We got a side order of fries. While nice and crispy, it was a bit salty. Fried Pie with Apple and Vanilla Ice Cream — I usually don’t get dessert as I’m too full, but just had to try one of these fried pies. I really liked it. Fresh, hot, not oily and the filling was very nicely seasoned and tasty. The ice cream was good too. Overall, not the best BBQ, but it was good. Friendly service and great prices.
