I was so excited to have an authentic Italian spot in Arcata. But PastaLuego misses the point– I’m shocked that a restaurant that doesn’t focus on the quality of ingredients has the audacity to open in this day and age– especially on the Arcata plaza! My panini was delicious– however when I inquired into the quality I found that nothing was organic and the turkey was filled with nitrates– pretty embarrassing if you ask me — for $ 11 you can get a delicious and HEALTHY sandwich a block away at Brio or the Co-Op. Or better yet, Folie Douce– best sandwich in town.

Food was good, average portions. Love the wine selection. Good place to get fresh meat.

Sadly, the customer service here is poor. The fresh pasta is great, and that is why I come back, but every time I leave I think«maybe I shouldn’t come back.» This time, I felt the need to leave a review; I’ve come here over a dozen times anyway, it’s about time I did. Today, there was WAY more care and authenticity in the way the customer before me and after me was treated, and hell, even the customer who walked in the door while my transaction was being handle was treated better. I didn’t appreciate it. If you’re handling my transaction and products, don’t break and start talking to other people as if I’m not as important or as if I’m not there. It happens more often then not, and it sucks. I even said thank you after signing the receipt, and she was already looking past me, talking to the gentleman behind me, and I haven’t walked away yet. It’s just rude. My sister won’t even come in anymore, let alone buy anything. On other occasions, I felt the conversation and/or behavior was inappropriate for work. Sigh. Oh well.

So here’s the thing, I didn’t want to three star you because your Torrone and sandwiches are excellente. But one of your employees would be better served working as a prison guard. I know my family and I didn’t just come in and spend $ 60.00 in your store to get disrespected by some little hussy for eating your customer samples. Dirty looks the second we walked in. Young girl, brunette. She made me very uncomfortable. I don’t take rudeness lightly and won’t be coming back in fear that her glare of a thousand daggers will slice me up into a panini.

Authentic Italian subs! Our most recent purchase was the Chino Italian sub. Wow! Perfect. And it was HUGE! We shared one sub and couldn’t even finish it. Fresh ingredients. It’s good to call it in. Parking around the Plaza can sometimes be hard to find. So if you call it in, it’ll probably be ready when you get there. And, you’ll have to take it to go since they don’t have really any dining areas. But the plaza is across the street. On a previous visit, we had a pasta salad. It was delicious. Very little sauce so you could really appreciate their pastas that are made right there. And their Hammi panini was to die for! That combo with the ham, sautéed mushrooms, Gorgonzola cheese and balsamic onion jam was probably the best and most unique flavor found in a panini.

Great place! Only place around you can get quality sliced to order deli meats. Great cheeses too. All kinds of great imported items. They also just started selling Living The Dream ice cream!

I’ve been here a twice. The first time we had a great veggie panini and a side cannellini beans. The beans were pretty salty, but the panini was great. I also recently purchased fresh pasta — fantastic! I will be purchasing all of my pasta from here in the future.

Hands down I had the best panini in Northern California. It was beyond delicious. It was a little expensive but it was defiantly worth the money. Everyone there is super nice. Everyone will greet you with a smile. The only thing I have to say is that they take forever to make your panini. It took them like 10 years for them to finish making my panini. It actually took them like 25 minutes to make one panini but still thats quite a long time. Other than that everyone should give it a try! Sure it takes a while but it is defiantly some of the best panini’s you will ever eat. Also more restaurants/small shops need to OPENONSUNDAYS!!!

I went to this place for lunch the other day and I was very impressed. The owner is very nice and deli has a nice selection of Italian meats and cheeses. I recommend the Kurobuta Panini. It was SOGOOD. I will definitely be coming back here!
