I enjoyed their French Dip. My daughter really liked their Club sandwich. They managed to prepare these classics very well. I’m looking forward to getting to eat there again. There are several other dishes I would lime to try.

Good food overall… the pizza is the closest I’ve found in Humboldt to real, east coast, NY style pizza. Their fries are good too. It’s a little pricey though for what you get. Staff is always friendly.

Service: Perfect. I felt like I was at home or with friends while being served. Food: I had the BBQ Bacon Burger my gf had the Carnivore Pizza. And both were delicious. Ambiance: it was cool and hip but I feel like all ages are welcome here. We have been her before but since it was HSU’s Spring Break it was a little slow, but that was okay! I would definitely come back again and again and… Again! Wish I got fries with my burger because it was that good.

Clean. Casual. Comfortable. Good food. Good for kids. Pizza was really good. Veggie pizzas delish. Meat pizzas delish. Reasonably priced.

Every time I have eaten here, it is delicious! I have never ordered anything with meat in it though, so bare that in mind. But all of their vegetarian-friendly dishes are wonderful! And their fries are the best, especially in the heaping portion they serve. My favorites are the garlic lovers pizza(leaves your breath wrecked for days. yummmm), the gotti pizza(love the pesto and sun-dried tomato combination), and Adam’s tofu sandwich! The wait is usually long(20 – 30 mins) because they are always busy but its worth it for the great food.

I had the adams turkey, with a side of garlic fries and possibly the best slice of pickle ever, omg! It was so good. Everything on the menu is awesome. The staff is so nice and helpful, I’ll drive from Eureka just to get my food from them. My son had the rachel and he loved it,

Being from the northeast, I take my delis seriously. We have some serious sandwich game back home and don’t have any patience for inferior offerings. As a somewhat random find while wandering Arcata around lunchtime, this place proved that it is indeed possible to find a sandwich worthy of the name even on the west coast. Despite being the day after Xmas and having an almost empty restaurant, the staff were pretty friendly, and I was impressed with the array of menu options, from burgers to cheese steaks to club sandwiches. I stuck with the basic turkey club and paired it with some fries. The sandwich was a delicious mountain of juicy turkey and crisp bacon with fresh veggies on three crunchy pieces of sourdough toast(a must out here), and the fries were perfect golden shoestrings, not a soggy or disappointing fry in the basket. If I hadn’t been on my way to Redwood Curtain afterwards I would have taken advantage of their plethora of local beer options, a nice bonus at any deli. Overall this was a terrific find for a lunch place, with tasty food that fills you up and quick, friendly service. If this place were located in the CT/NY/NJ area, it would more than hold its own with the delis there, and it definitely stands out in Arcata.

My burger came with the sticker on the tomato still attached. Other than that the food was good. The cashier(a young lady with long brown hair) was rude and ignored us for about five minutes. She forgot my cookie and ignored us again when we asked for waters. She seemed to be doing a paper and was also busy texting. This place has good food but questionable customer service

The atmosphere here is… Interesting. Although it’s pretty cool that they have art from local artists up on their walls. The service here… Honestly, it’s a hit or miss on the service. Sometimes we’ll wait for over an hour and watch everyone that ordered after us get their food, even after reminding them. Sometimes we’ll get the food within 25 mins. Usually, I tend to order to-go so I don’t have to deal with that anymore. The people at the front counter, sometimes they’re cool & sometimes they just ooze that vibe of not wanting to be there. The food here is good and a bit on the pricey side, but for the portion size it makes it a little easier to spend that much. It’s just a bit disappointing that they’re not consistent with the taste/quality and presentation. The turkey club sandwich and the spicy chicken club are tasty though. A couple of times the chicken on the chicken club was burnt, super dry and hard. On the other hand, the turkey club is always on point. Now, the out n about burger is actually pretty delicious, probably the closest thing to in n out around Arcata. The only redeeming quality is the sandwiches and the burgers. Overall, 3 stars for not being great, but also not too shabby.

Out and About Boca burger really delivered. Tasted much like that big chain with a similar name. The fries were great. The medium order of fries was a very large basket. We also ordered the garlic fries — while good, I felt these would be better with sauteed garlic instead of freshly diced garlic, but whatever — maybe they’re just not my thing. My mom had a tuna melt which was huge! More than she could eat. The employees were super chill.

One of the WORST pizza’s we have ever had the misery of trying to force down our throats! I can’t believe I HAVE to give it one star?! The tall, young blonde who barely acknowledged us would rather be somewhere else. The pizza was almost tasteless. Greasy. Missing sauce? I think the only thing that made me remember I was eating pizza was the fact that it was round, and I think it had pepperoni?! There were less than HALF a handful of green bell peppers scattered. I wish I took a picture of this awful pizza to share with you all… There was only ONE redeeming gesture; the slightly older, darker haired woman who jumped to the young blonde’s rescue after she spaced out and couldn’t remember my name to get our above mentioned pizza. SAD. Don’t eat here.

We really enjoyed our food here. Service was quick, plenty of selections to choose from. We tried the rueben, french dip and cheese fries with white cheddar. All were very tasty so we would definitely return based on our food and service from this trip.

This place was something else, and I don’t mean that in a great way. The key to any good restaurant is having great food, service, and a clean place to eat. APD had none of those three things. To start off, the guy that was seemingly running the place was the most rude POS I’ve ever encountered working customer service. He didn’t treat his customers with great service. He treated us like we were bothering him. So for that, I automatically will never go there again. This guy with the piercing on his lip should really find another line of work. And as a word of advice, when someone comes in with a resume, it’s pretty harsh to bluntly say«not now, we’re busy.» Politeness is key and he obviously lacks it. Now onto the food. It’s bland. No seasoning on any of it. Also, you have to dress it up yourself. All they do is cook a patty for you and give you the fixings. The rest is on you. Their reasoning? I heard a girl say«oh, you never know if you put too much of something on it and that person might not like it.» That answer is hogwash. That’s their excuse for no seasoning? No ketchup and mustard or mayo? C’mon, that’s ridiculous! I paid $ 10 for a burger without fries or a drink. The least you guys can do is make it decent. If you want to charge an arm an a leg for that garbage, then either include fries and a drink or hire someone that can cook at an artisanal level. What you guys are serving up is lower than McDonald’s standards and that’s a shame. There definitely needs to be some sort of change here. I know I’ll never eat here again. I’d give you no stars if I could. Also, if a customer asks what kind of cheese you have, answer politely… don’t slam a list with a dull look on your face. You just look rude.

Friendly staff, quick and tasty pizza with a variety of drinks to choose from — even Jarritos! They offer plenty of pepper & Parmesan on the side if you ask for to go orders. Bonus– during the day there is a nice mural on the side of their building to check out.

APD provides food with quality fresh ingredients and service. The portions are very generous and in fact family style for items such as their«small basket» of fries. Although the average burger costs about $ 8+, the combos that are $ 3 more for refillable soft drink and small basket of fries is definitely fair for the amount of food that you get. My personal favorite is the Arcata burger with white cheddar and topped with sprouts, bacon, avocado, lettuce, and tomato. Its ingredients were fresh and a delicious combo. Parking can be difficult during peak hours and a rush of local customers will make the place busy, so try to make sure to get there early.

Solid food. I find their pizza to be a bit more greasy than I’d ideally like it, but it tastes excellent — the Garlic Lover’s is my favorite. I tend to lean more toward the burger/sandwich side of the menu — the Out and About burger is great… almost as good as In-N-Out’s! Service is definitely hit or miss. It’s always pretty slow, but there’s been times I’ve been waiting for over an hour for a slice of pizza on a not that busy day.

Vacation pizza somehow always tastes a little better; maybe it’s eating it with the pizza box perched precariously on the dash of the Tahoe, or watching the unique assemblage of Arcata’s residents meandering about their cute little town. We ordered a simple cheese pizza and some spicy fries. Both were fine, but the 35 minute prep time made this a stretch as a take out place. Maybe we should have called ahead from Fortuna? Prices were touristy-high, but whatever… It ain’t Domino’s, and I like supporting small local businesses. This was the only«findable» pizza place in town… Arguably, when you have four hungry kids in the car and you’re trying to make a high tide up the coast, you don’t work that hard. Even when it’s bad… It’s good.

A decent burger at a fair price. May not be the cheapest burger in town but for nor-cal it’s right about average. Cold beer on tap. Pizza by the slice. Specialty fries, served with a multitude of options. Hot and cold sandwiches. A variety of great salads. Daily specials. APD is a local landmark — ever changing artwork and the crowd varies depending on what time of the day it is as well as what time of the year. It’s hard to get a seat when school is in most afternoons, however on my most recent visit, school was out for the summer and it was after 1pm… both of these combinations made for a pleasant and well prepared and quick lunch. The Blue Cheese burger with a cold draft IPA, the beer was cold and the burger cooked to perfection. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about from a month ago, other than it was the end of the school year and whining college kids… 44
