I have come here for only 9 mouths. This is the only restaurant I never got disappointment… It will be closed in the end of the May. I love the ramen here. So sad… T T…

This is an under-rated ramen place in Arcadia! It’s in the same plaza as Pavilions and AU79 Teahouse. We were immediately seated on a weekday night and I recommend coming here before 9 pm because they do have happy hours on select beers/drinks. I really liked the shoyu tonkotsu even though I ordered the shio tonkotsu. There’s just something about the broth that made me want more! The chashu was flavorful for both though. Toppings were yummy too. Overall, prices are decent and service is friendly. This is a great ramen spot to try if you’re ever in the area and not in the mood to wait. Credit cards accepted!

Man, I really want to give them 4 stars but I can’t. –1 star for slow service. — - s e r v i c e — - Suuuuuperrrrr slowwwwwwwww. If I did not have a ramen 50% off pass that day, I would’ve left way before I was seated. If you’re busy that’s fine. But I see your workers. They’re standing there. They’re looking at me. I’m looking at them. We’re both looking at that table that needs to be cleaned. This goes on(on and off and between different employees) for a least 20 minutes. Then someone finally said she’d be right with us once she cleared the table. And finallllllyyyyy after another 10 minutes we were seated. Starving child over here! Pay attention to me! Feed me! — - r a m e n — - [ [ t o n k a t s u ] ] This was probably a combination of how delicious it actually was and also the fact that I was starving by the time we were seated and our food came out. But omg this was so good! The broth was flavorful, it was delicious. I personally liked ordering my ramen firm(which wasn’t a big difference between soft ramen, but there’s a nice difference). I know this cause I had the soft noodles(regular) when I first ordered my ramen and asked for firm when I ordered an extra order of noodles(I told you, I was really hungry. Donut judge). Will I come back? Ehh… maybe. The bad service was seriously a big turn off. Seeing someone walk out from the back. CLEARLY look at me and walk back into the kitchen was just aggravating. And this happened multiple times. Just acknowledge that you see me and will help me shortly, even if it’ll be 20 minutes later.

I came for the Dine 50 half off ramen promo. It was just 2 of us on a Wednesday during dinner hour. It was pretty empty when I got there around 6:30PM, which I didn’t mind. We were seated right away. Restaurant Ambiance: Casual, just like any other ramen spot in the area. The restaurant is pretty small, they have a sushi bar as well. Food: The promo only allowed two options for the ramen so it didn’t take that long before we ordered. We both had the Shio Tonkatsu ramen. Delicious, flavorful broth. They had a good portion of Char Siu with it and the noodles were fine. One thing I didn’t like was the broth to noodle ratio. It needed a little more broth. Service: Fast and friendly. They took our order right away and our food came out soon after. My friend and I sat there to chat for a while and they refilled our waters many times. Their dinner rush wasn’t that packed either. I would come again, especially with the ramen pass!

This place was not memorable for me at all. It is just a typical ramen place, nothing too special about it. The service was okay and it was pretty quiet for a Saturday night. When I went, I ordered that day’s special of $ 5 salmon sashimi. Though the pieces were small and thin, it was pretty good for the price. I ordered the Shio Tonkatsu and honestly, I’ve had better ramen. There wasn’t anything special about the dish that makes me want to come back for more.

I think the owners I’m assuming are the kindest people. They smile when I walk in and when we leave too. Second time here and I appreciate their service so much. They’re really just kind :) and sushis fresh here. Even though they lack a variety of rolls BUT fresh . Hopefully there’s cucumber rolls one day for when I’m cutting the carbs :) Five stars!

Congratulations Yushoken, this restaurant made me write my first Unilocal review in 6 months. First all, the food is fine. Nothing memorable, but nothing I wouldn’t eat again. Now on to the service… They managed to mess up an order, replaced it with another wrong order, and once it arrives my date has finished her ramen + plus her two side dishes. Mistakes happens, but not twice. Also they did not mind to refill our drinks voluntary during the 45 minutes we’re their. For the payment… I had to go to the cashier to ask for a check as I’m ignored twice when I call for their attention. Here I ask for the manager and out comes the most mundane person who does not speak English. As I try to explain the situation(twice), he still does not understand the slightest(remember he’s the manager!), his took place while the two waitresses were present but they did not bother translating(or help, or even a «sorry») as they are too busy on their phones! Perhaps the mistake was on me for giving this place a chance as I ignored all the other Unilocalers that were complaining about the service. Good luck to the brave ones who tries this place, you’ll need it.

Came in on a Thursday night at 8:00pm Tables were open and the server sat us down very quickly with menus. She checked on us with drinks sooner than we had time to read the happy hour menu(that’s a good thing). The menu had a very good selection of dishes ranging from ramen(duh) to sashimi to rice bowls. We ordered: 2 — Spicy Ramen 1 — takoyaki 1 — 4pc salmon avocado roll 1 — 12 oz Sapporo draft 1 — calpico The ramen was very good, excellent flavor, PLENTY of noodles and good cuts of pork. Overall very good ramen The appetizers(salmon roll and takoyaki) were good as well. The takoyaki was flavored just right without any overpowering flavors. The whole meal with tip ended up being under $ 35 during their happy hour Overall I had a very good meal with a reasonable price.

The ramen is good. You could add a half roll for $ 2+ and a salad. The service is horrible. It gets worse every time I go. The server today didn’t even say hi and seems like she doesn’t like her job because she can’t even give a tiny smile.

This place is close to my house so I wanted to try it out. I love ramen and have been on the search for the best black garlic tonkotsu. Still have yet to find it. But this place seemed ok. They offer sushi and ramen as well as some rice dishes. Really wanted to love it. I ordered the takoyaki which was ok. The fried chicken was not good. It lacked flavor. I could not tell I was eating chicken. I got the spicy tonkotsu which was a nice spicy. But that was it. I got about 4 pieces of cha shu where as my Mom got the miso ramen which only had 1 small piece of cha shu. That was a little ridiculous. The broth was not tasty at all. Not enough miso. All in all, I was disappointed.

The ramen is just ok. They have a pretty good happy hour with $ 1.75 draft Sapporo, and the prices of the ramen is pretty decent also(around $ 8). The customer service from the waitress was REEEEALLY bad. The way she took our order seemed like she hated being there. She had a shit face the whole time and didn’t respond while taking our order or when we would ask for something. I give 0 stars for customer service, 4 stars for the food= 2 stars total

The ramen was a rave to lots of people, there was a little wait and I was excited to try the place. Well meh I don’t think I will be back. The soup was yummy but not yummy enough for me to come back. The noodles were not as chewy or fresh like I expected. Maybe the hype made it not so good.

One of the first things I liked about this place is that you can add a side of sushi or rice to your ramen for less than $ 3(if you get a 4-piece sushi roll)!! Unfortunately, this place is super inconsistent! I’ve been here 4 times and I always order the same thing, but it never tastes the same :(I get the spicy shio tonkotsu because I love the thick and wavy ramen. On a good day, it is very flavorful and hits your taste buds in all the right places! On a bad day(which is most of the time), you might have regretted choosing this ramen place. The last time I was here, I couldn’t even finish my food because it wasn’t appetizing. I didn’t even finish my soft boiled egg, which is my favorite part! Sometimes there will be signs all over the restaurant for specials, but they actually ran out. This has happened to me 2 times… so I feel that they should take down the signs or mention that when they seat you because it can be pretty disappointing. This restaurant is relatively small but it’s hard for the waiters to manage everyone. I feel like I always have to raise my hand if I wanted more napkins, more water, and the check. They usually don’t check in with you to see if you are okay. Because of the inconsistency, I don’t feel like I would return to this ramen place anymore. My sister agrees that her miso ramen tastes different each time she goes there too.

Craving ramen, our first choice was Ramen Yukinoya a couple of minutes away from this place, but remembered they close in the afternoon in preparation for dinner hours. So, since we never tried this place, we came … and got very disappointed. Not by the food, but by the absolute crappy service from the short haired girl with way too much eye shadow. When we arrived around 2pm, the place was near empty. We were given menus to look over and when we were ready to order, «eye shadow» girl came. No «hello», no «what would you like?» Just stared at us. OKaaaay. Me: We’ll have the Spicy Miso ramen Girl: uh huh Me: Also an order of the Tokyo Shoyu Girl: uh huh … and quickly walks away Me: um… some water please? GIrl: Ya! as she disappeared into the kitchen Less than a minute later, she sits down at a table by the cashier and gets on her cell phone(see photo) She must have been in a hurry to get on that important phone after 2 «uh-huhs» and a «ya!» You know what they say about first impressions … and we decided this place sucks because of this girl and some serious lack of management training. And if her family owns this place, that’s even worse. The food: Spicy Miso, not bad. Slightly spicy, medium boiled egg and one piece of tender pork. Funny, I recall the picture in the menu proudly displaying 3 big slices of pork. The bowl also had a lot of pieces of veggies as fillers. It’s almost like someone dumped an order of salad in my bowl. Tokyo Shoyu: A nice chicken based broth, lighter than the miso. Same deal with the pork. False advertisement! When we were ready for the check, I had hoped for anyone with any personality to come by, but no… we got the eye shadow girl again with her crabby face. This time, no uh-huh’s nor ya! Just silence. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why I tipped her. Overall, I would NOT recommend this place and have no plans to come back. There’s a clear reason why the nearby Ramen Yukinoya is always busy w/a line and this place disappoints so many fellow Unilocalers. They just don’t get it. I’m giving this place 2 stars only because the flavor of the ramen was decent. Not great, not memorable … just OK. Notes: * Stay away from the eye shadow girl * Expect way less pork than what the menu shows

Came in here on a Friday night and there was a decent amount of people here, about 70% full. While it seems like they’re struggling a bit in terms of wait time to clear tables, their staff still have great smiles and are helpful as much as they can. Pleasantly, the wait time did not happen for the food– it was out pretty quickly. Ordered the chashu ramen and Tokyo shoyu, which were solid. A different take on the tonkotsu broth, not nearly as heavy on the stomach as most places. After a long work week, the balanced broth did not overwhelm my tired senses and settled warmly into my tummy to bring a content smile to my face. I”d for sure come back again. Definitely better than their 3 star rating would imply. Quick bite for ramen? Absolutely yes!

I went with a friend for a late lunch the other day and I have to say service was really friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, it was pretty slow and they forgot part of our order. But to be fair, they were very apologetic and it’s not like we were in a rush anyways. Like others have said, the ramen does come out quickly. We ordered the combo ramen + sushi sets and the ramen actually came out quicker than the sushi. I ordered the tsukemen and it was quite possibly the closest to the authentic Japanese tsukemen fish-based broth that I have had outside of Japan. Other tsukemen’s in LA are almost strictly pork-based broths(very similar to tonkotsu broths) which is nice for the saltier palettes of Americans, but also not quite the same experience. Going in, I had no idea about this. But once I tasted the broth, it immediately brought back so many memories of my honeymoon in Japan last year. The fish-based tsukemen might not be for everyone, but I can guarantee this is the closest to what you would find in Japan. Just because of the authenticity, I know I will come back again and again.

I’ve been here once with a friend and her family… I am slowly trying different places to try their tsukemen… Ramen Yushoken’s tsukemen was not a disappointment. They do not give you much broth(and you don’t need it), as it has been simmered down to a thick and flavorful base and was quite delicious. I’m finding every tsukemen is different, as every restaurant. I definitely I wouldn’t mind coming back again and having it again!

Apparently this used to be a sushi restaurant until there was a shooting. Now Japanese people own it. The restaurant was pretty empty and service was quick and prompt. Their beer is really affordable and my ramen(Shio Tonkatsu) came out in less than 5 minutes. The ramen itself is a great deal — you get the ramen with all the toppings for under 8 bucks. It was a bit salty, but nothing a bit of water couldn’t fix. For a quiet meal without the wait, I’d recommend this place. It is located in a large shopping mall so parking isn’t a problem.

Overall it was delicious, I would recommend giving it a try. But –1 star for slow service. Another –1 star for charging extra for add ons. I had the shio tonkotsu which was yummy, unfortunately I was craving corn for some reason but not worth the extra charge. I also tried some of the miso one, it was alright but I’m not a fan of miso to begin with. I do like their deal of adding on half an order/roll of sushi for only a few dollars. But the bowl is a good size and filled me right up.

This was a small place. The ramen was good. I had the tonkotsu shoyu ramen with gyoza and a green tea ice cream for dessert for a light lunch. Ramen was a good portion if you just wanted to eat that you would not be hungry after one bowl. I was very hungry so I wanted to eat a lot more. I always like eating gyoza’s with a bowl of ramen. They got a good small selection of ramen. It all looked very delicious to be able to try a different ramen another time. Good ramen place to try.

Ordered for take out to bring home to the sick fiancé who was craving ramen. Got 2 of the chashumen both with egg and corn. Great portions for take out, enough to definitely make me fuller than I needed to be. The flavor was really good and came with 6!!! pieces of chashu! I was very impressed with that. The noodles were a bit chewy/hard but that might be because it had been sitting in a tub for my hour long drive home. Also ordered it with corn and egg extra — surprised that without ordering that, the ramen would have come totally plain with just noodles broth and pork. Broth was just a bit oilier than I would have liked but that’s a small issue. Satisfied considering it was take out. The food was just ready when I got there which was perfect. I told her 3:30 pick up, and it was ready at 3:30. Restaurant was empty except for 1 person eating, but it was also afternoon and no one really eats at 3 in the afternoon. I was really happy to find them open because most japanese ramen restaurants I was looking at all closed during the afternoon and reopened for dinner. I would come back again. Can’t speak for the service, but I was happy. Overall, would recommend.

Came here on a Wednesday night with my boyfriend and niece. Yushoken is located at the very corner of the Pavilions plaza on Baldwin. It will be on the AU tea house side of the plaza. It wasnt packed at all, the place was probably half full I would say. This restaurant serves both ramen and japanese food at the same time. I ordered the vegetable ramen which is called Ankake on the menu. It came with a bunch of bean sprouts which I didn’t want. I specifically told the waitress as well that I didnt want it, but they put it in my ramen anyway –_– The bowl had a lot of napa cabbage in it which I didnt mind. I love how their noodles are curly, because I hate straight noodles. The flavor was pretty decent, I would order it a second time if I came back to the place. My boyfriend ordered the Tsukemen(soup and noodles are separated) which was a BIG letdown because they only gave him ONE piece of chashu :(I felt so bad for him, I told him to order some extra meat but he’s like, nah its okay. He’s a big meat eater too, so he was really disappointed that they only gave him one piece of meat. He was pretty much eating just noodles and bamboo shoots. It makes me think maybe they only gave him one piece of meat so he can purposely order extra meat. Extra meat = more money, which is what restaurants always want. But maybe I’m thinking too much haha When you order ramen it comes with a free big bowl of rice, but you have to request it so make sure you do. I actually enjoyed eating the rice with the veggies in my ramen. I just love carbs in general. My niece ordered the fried chicken which was whatevers she said. Service was good, the lady was very nice and polite :)

One of the main reasons I like this quaint restaurant is because you can customize the ramen noodle’s texture(hard, regular, or soft), the soup’s taste(strong, regular, or soft), and the soup itself(heavy or regular). The place is quaint, small, and includes a small sushi bar in the corner. The Ramen combo and Rice bowl combo are great deals considering the amount of food you get from the combos. At my first visit, I ordered the ramen+half roll+side salad combo with their Tokyo Shoyu ramen and salmon avocado roll. The side salad had slaw, a mayo dressing, some corn, and is topped with bonita flakes, but it’s really nothing special. However, I did enjoy the salmon avocado roll, which was salmon and avocado slices on top of California rolls. The Shoyu ramen’s broth was delicious, but the regular noodles were a bit too hard for me. The next time I tried the restaurant, I ordered the same ramen but with soft noodles and a softer broth. The soft noodles were better to my liking and I actually liked a lighter broth. They have great service and they try to seat you as soon as possible. However, this only happens when they have very little customers to attend to. The servers get very hectic when the place starts to fill up. The wait for tables and orders can become ridiculous. I have already had two incidents where they seated a group of people before me because they thought their party was my party. They also seem to mess up the orders or forget parts of the orders more often than they should. Overall, I enjoy their food, but the service needs to be more organized.
