First time there last night. What a beautiful restaurant great and spacious. Cool ceiling wow! Ordered the ceviche which was good. I would have given five stars except it took too long for the waiter to take our order and we weren’t thanked when we left.

This is a fancy pastry and coffee/tea house in a very Frenchie style. I was bummed they didn’t have the SWEETPOTATOMOUSSE but we found others to try. CREMEBRULEE — a nice crispy slightly charred crust; cool thicker cream inside; Madagascar vanilla? Tahitian? a very nice rendition CHOCOLATESOUFFLE — not my fave dessert; not too sweet; vanilla bean sauce poured on top makes it; pretty good MULTI-LAYERCREPECAKE — moist and surprisingly tasty; it also has the vanilla bean cream sauce COFFEE — good, not great; better than Starpuke’s

This the best restaurant I have been to in a long time. So much so, It compelled me to write my first review. The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the incredible atmosphere and beautiful décor. There is a mix of a restaurant that makes you feel you’re in an upscale 5 star wedding at the same time a unique area that combines a feel of a European bakery. They even have old movies playing in small screens on the wall. The strong attention to detail doesn’t stop with just the décor, but the service is excellent as well as the food. This was only the second time I have been here and I was greeted by name and the manager remembered my kids. This is a great place not only to eat, but also for a glass of wine or afternoon tea. There is something special here and I almost didn’t want to write this to give up a special secret in a dining experience.

Caffé Concerto is somewhere where I would come to have some afternoon tea. The ambience is very nice, but service is lacking. Complimentary bread(4⁄5) — the black bread was very soft and I liked that they sliced it, didn’t get to try the other bread. Butter was not too salty and it was whipped butter. Truffle fries(3⁄5) — the truffle fries are thick cut and had a great crisp to it. However, it was lacking the truffle flavor. The fries came with ranch and bbq sauce on the side. Steak and Cheese Risotto(3⁄5) — Average, found a piece of «particle»(as the manager would put it) as I was about to take a bite. The cheese was very light, it tasted like I was eating glued together sticky rice. The steak inside was okay, I avoided eating it after the first bite. Chilean Seabass(1.5÷5) — probably one of the worst Seabass I have ever had, the fish was not fresh and the sauce did not compliment the fish very well. I had one bite and found a tiny fly in the sauce of the Seabass while I was chewing the initial bite, probably due to us siting at the patio though. Where is the server? Our server disappeared after taking our order… And we never saw him again. I had to go into the restaurant a couple of times to find someone to help me. I never got my extra honey that I asked for twice and the manager never brought me my extra set of utensils that he said he would bring to me. The manager did take back my Chilean Seabass and replaced the Risotto, which I appreciated. Chris was very nice and polite but seemed inexperienced — though he’s a keeper after some training. Miguel was also very nice by asking us how our food was and had a smile on his face the whole time. I believe this place will thrive if they train their employees more and hire a better chef or just had better recipes! But, as of now, I have no desire to ever come back here again.

I have written a review of caffe concerto, the one in Korean town(please refer to my older reviews and for pictures). And having been to the one in Arcadia(located within the mall, at the outside area) a couple times. I think it is safe to say this place is good. Nice interior décor. Food is made of quality(very consistent with one in Korea town, except Arcadia probably has a better parking situation esp on weekdays). Friendly services overall. All time fav: the Indonesian fried rice(spicy), lobster pasta, clam pasta, Brussel sprouts, and we were impressed with the crêpe cake last time we were there. This place was a bit pricey but we enjoyed the food. Unilocal wisely.

5 stars for service 4 stars for food Tried this place a few times since it opened, the foods not bad and the service is great! Came in today with a toddler who really wanted the same black bread he tried last time he came in, so I asked the manager if they had any left but they didn’t so he offered to give the little boy a free macron after our dinner; after the meal the manager remembered and gave him a macron! :) Anyways, food wise is a little on the salty side, but still good. The pizza with the walnuts, blue cheese and honey is my favorite! Sooo good. The salads are average, but good in the sense that it’s not drenched in dressing. The pesto pasta was a little too saucey and salty. Overall, not bad place to grab some Italian food.

i came here on a saturday for lunch and there was no wait at all. I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot, it was clean and service was friendly. i ordered the chicken and mushroom risotto and i enjoyed it as well. although there could have been more risotto and less onion. i felt like each bite i took there were more onions than rice — kind of made me feel that they were trying to go the easy way /rip me off by giving me more minced onion than actual arborio rice. But other than that, the taste was great and the portion was good. my sister ordered the shrimp with tobiko sauce and i thought that was pretty delicious. Tobiko sauce, it was rather more liquid-y than actual thick creamy sauce(it is nothing like an alfredo creamy sauce). The color is creamy but the taste is hard to describe. It was salty and rich, perhaps had a hint of shrimp head flavor, but wasnt fishy at all. The pasta could have cooked a little longer. the shrimps were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sauce was just good. i love dipping the bread into that tobiko sauce. the desserts, i wished i could have tried but none looked that appealing at that time. i wouldn’t mind dining here again — price is a little pricey, so may be one day i can make it to a lunch on weekday for their weekday lunch special menu.

I’ve been here twice and on both visits, have been good overall. Service though could be a bit better. Even though we generally didn’t have to wait to be seated, the first time we waited to order for a while and the second time, we weren’t given any menus for a while until we finally asked them. Friday night or Saturday, we didn’t have to wait and there were plenty of tables. We didn’t get kicked out and enjoyed our time there as we didn’t have to rush to leave. We just enjoyed the food and the wine. The best part about this place was their $ 1 oysters and they’re delicious! I believe their special menu changes as we didn’t see Uni pasta the first time but we ended up getting the last uni pasta the second time. The waitress was nice enough to put in our order right away. Wasn’t a big portion but plenty of uni and very flavorful. Lobster pasta was also good. Didn’t expect to have a half lobster filled with meat! Also the hamburger steak was good but wished the egg was more runny. The yoke was cooked well done. Wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be that way but the steak was good. Nice decorative restaurant and great atmosphere. Some people might not know about this place since it’s in a corner outside next to Macy’s and hidden in the children play area. I’d come again.

Thanks for coming to the SGV! I’ve been to the K-Town location and fell in love with the lobster pasta so I was really excited when this location opened up inside the Westfield Santa Anita Mall. It’s located outside in the promenade between Macy’s and Red Robin’s. It’s a large space, very bright, very white, and with high ceilings. One of other Unilocalers compared it to Bottega Louie and I would agree. It did have that vibe except cozier and quieter. It has a very elegant feel. It feels a lot like a fancy brunch spot, but they’re only open for lunch and dinner. Anyway, there was nobody at the front when I arrived but it was also very slow. However, once seated my server Christine was the sweetest girl ever. She was very informative, hospitable, and attentive. The food… 1. Oyster Special — They had fanny bay oysters for $ 1. I don’t really know my oysters and they seemed rather large for fanny bay, but they were fresh and delicious. I was very impressed with how clean and perfect each oyster looked. You have to order in increments of ½ dozen. 2. Ceviche — Imagine a seafood salsa. It has a tomato base, full of shrimp, squid, and avocado. There was an overwhelming amount of tortilla chips but they were very crispy and worked very well with the ceviche. 3. Chilean Sea Bass — I had to get this since everyone raves about it in person and on Unilocal. It was very flakey and the miso glaze was the perfect touch. It sits on a bed of mushrooms, which complimented the fish very well. It’s considered an appetizer because of it’s size but it was the perfect portion since I ordered other starters. 4. Chocolate Soufflé — Christine checked on us during our meal so she can put the soufflé in since it takes 20 minutes to bake. Her timing was perfect and she helped pour the vanilla sauce into the soufflé. The soufflé was fluffier than I expected and wasn’t too sweet so it was perfect. The vanilla sauce adds some more sweetness if you prefer and also gives it a rich texture. My friend also had the chicken and mushroom risotto. It didn’t look that appetizing but he said it was great and cleaned the plate. I can’t wait to come back to try the rest of the dishes here.

I’ve tried with place a couple times enough to write a review on it. The interior is very nice and classy. It could definitely be a date night spot and for celebrating birthdays. When you walk in you see the seating area and to the left is the bakery where they have all the baked goods and coffee! The macarons and cake are all so yummy! I’ve tried many things here and the dish that stands out to me the most if the ahi tuna salad! The salad is so refreshing with the dressing and then topped with fresh ahi tuna! YUM! I’ve also tried the hamburger steak, a few pastas, and pizza but none of those really stood out to me. The steak pizza is pretty good but I can get pizza somewhere else, for cheaper too! The truffle fries were kind of weird… they were steak cut fries and I didn’t really taste«truffle» in it. I would not get it again. Overall, what you get for what you pay is not worth it. Everything is so expensive and the food isn’t THAT good… I would honestly just come for the desserts.

So just as my friend and fellow Unilocaler Grace C. has mentioned, I’m also wavering between the 3 – 4 stars. I’ve been going to Caffe Concerto in Ktown for many years now but always, it’s a little hectic getting there. Of course I’m happy they now have a second location in Arcadia. First, I met my person here after work and was immediately seated. Décor is romanticish with chandeliers, white chairs and soft lighting. We looked through the menu and since he wasn’t super hungry we decided to just order an entrée and an appetizer. Sharing is caring! I wanted the truffle fries which wasn’t bad but I didn’t like how they cut them. Perhaps thinner cuts. We still devoured it though. For the entrée I wanted the linguini vongole. For the price I’m paying it would have been nice to have a slightly larger portion. Definitely if you’re hungry, don’t expect it to fill you up. As my second favorite meal is dessert, I ordered the tiramisu which was pretty good without being too sweet. Overall, I think this place is great for drinks and desserts, food on the other hand will cost you a pretty penny. I think after writing this review its more a 3. Note– located near Red Robin. Parking plentiful on the weekday.

I came here on a Thursday night wanting to just try the place out since it had been open for a couple months at its new location, the Santa Anita Mall. I actually had been to their original location down at KTown a couple of years ago and I was curious just to see if the experience and if there was really any improvement in the food taste. Reservations: Calling in was really the only way to make reservations since there is no other method. Since I wasn’t familiar with the EXACT location of this restaurant at the Mall and I didn’t know what to expect in term of the crowd(being that it was a new restaurant in the area), I made it just in case. The restaurant was practically bare when I arrived(minus 2 – 3 tables in the entire restaurant being occupied). Parking: Plentiful — it’s the mall and it was late in the evening. Due to the large number of new stores and restaurants opening up in the area thought, be mindful that during peak hours, you WILL be fighting for parking space though. Inside Décor: Very modern looking and overall very impressive. Reminds you of a high-end classy restaurant with its high vaulted ceiling; the crownwork overall was most impressive to me. Inside the back panel of the wall, hidden TVs acting as moving portraits keep you entertained as your eyes gloss over the entire restaurant. The little bakery which sells macarons, tarts and little cakes is to the far left hand side where it’s a separate buy and pay area for those that just wish to purchase the baked goods. The hostess will greet you in the front and you can choose to sit on the long cushion couches or the low tables to the farther right side of the restaurants against the wall with the hidden TVs. The kitchen is in the back and the restrooms(very clean & nice) is to the far left hand side in the back. Food: I was just not that impressed. I chose a basic entrée of pasta while my friend had their salad. We sampled their appetizer bread which came with a side of olive oil and consisted of 3 types of bread: wheat, white & mix. I couldn’t finish half of it and just left it at that. Afterwards, wanting to taste their baked goods, we shared a couple macarons and their cheesecake tart. Again, I’ve had better sadly. Unfortunately, this was a miss for me and I will probably not be back.

A new Café & Restaurant in town. It was a soft opening when I came here with a fellow Unilocaler. We had just finished dinner & wanted some after dinner coffee & saw this place tucked in the corner next to Macy’s by the kiddie play area. As we walked in the double doors, we were greeted by the hostess. She sat us down & asked of we were going to eat or just coffee & desserts. Since we were just going to have coffee & desserts, they took away our settings. Upon looking through the menu, they offer quite a variety of food, drinks(wine list), & desserts. The ambience is pretty classy. Servers in vests & bow ties. Décor is French, Italian, & Greek/Roman(tray ceiling with Astronomy signs). So we both ordered the Crème Brule Latte, several Macrons(Fraise, Salted Caramel, & Caffé Concerto) The server poured water in our glass. Brought us our Lattes. Nice presentation in a elegant cup & saucer. The only thing that caught my attention is to why would they serve me a wooden stir stick instead of silverware spoon? Not that I’m a snob but the elegance of a cup & saucer with a wooden stir stick baffles me. The flavor of the Latte was nice. Not too strong or bitter, enough creaminess & the burnt sugar on top gave it that crunchy texture. The Macron were ok. Sort of dry. Flavors were not popping out. At that price for each, it’s pricey for mediocre Macrons. The other side where they have a display of desserts was a modern décor. Total opposites of the dinning area. The display looked nice & presentation of the desserts reminds me of 85° Bakery. I’ll come back to try out the food some other time.

I wanted to take my friend to some place nice for her birthday and decided to give this place a try. This place is tucked in a corner between Macys and Red Robin. Upon arrival we were both blown away by how cute the place looked with chandeliers, curtains, roses and all. The special of the day were $ 1 oysters and we thought scored! These babies were topped with masago and a ponzu sauce garnished with lemon wedges and tabasco sauce. The masago eggs gave the oysters a nice little crunch and the tang from the garnishes was so refreshing. Our only regret is that we didn’t order more but we wanted room for out entrées. Had to order the lobster pasta with cream sauce and the shrimp tobiko pasta with broccoli. The lobster pasta was the star of the night. Creamy, salty, and plenty of lobster. We were both pleased with this dish. Definitely felt like a celebration. The tobiko shrimp however was a bit underwhelming. Lacked umami, it needed more flavor. We didn’t finish this dish. What’s a birthday without dessert? My friend got the affogato and was happy with her choice. The espresso and vanilla ice cream combined well without being too bitter. We liked that the expresso was served on the side. I got a mini fruit tart and that was total disappointment. The base they used was just no good, it definitely wasn’t custard. Don’t order that… Service was spectacular! Our waters were topped off constantly and waiters were so nice. It was a good pick for a happy birthday :)

Fairly decent Italian place inside the Santa Anita Mall. They have a very nice restaurant layout/decorations, which made for a nice setting. The wait staff we had was also very pleasant, which added to the ambiance. They started off with free bread– one of the things I usually judge Italian places on. When places don’t have free bread– automatically a huge minus– but luckily this place did! They had a rye-like bread and a nut-based one, but both were very glutinous and not very flavorful. I appreciated the effort of the unique bread, but it just didn’t taste good. We got their two specials– a pesto style chicken dish and a spicy hot-plate pasta. Both were pretty good but not amazing. I did enjoy their flavors and pasta though. Overall a nice Italian place, but probably wouldn’t walk to this out of the way corner of the mall for this restaurant though.

Super cute café located in Santa Anita Mall. It’s a great place to have brunch or dinner. The ambiance and décor is modern with high ceilings and chandeliers. They have a separate section for coffee and dessert. They also offer a discount for TOGO coffee/tea orders. Service://We went there for dinner and service was excellent. We couldn’t decide from their wine selections so the waiter allowed us to sample a few wines. Also, the waiters and waitresses kept coming by to make sure we were doing okay and our glasses were always full. Food:// We order pizza, salad and soup. Food was a little on the pricey side but worth it for the ambiance. Pizza is great for sharing, salads are very generous portions and soups are hearty. This café is great for groups or small parties. I would recommend this café and will definitely return.

So happy Caffe Concerto opened up right up my alley! Known for their delicious desserts and extensive wine and drinks selection, this place is perfect for a date or a night catching up with friends. The décor and ambiance is classy, reminiscent of a fancy French or Italian restaurant… and with prices to match. This isn’t your neighborhood boba shop so don’t be too shocked by the price tag of $ 2.40/macarons and $ 8 slices of cake. I came here for dessert and ordered a few macarons as well as a chocolate soufflé. The flavors I got for macarons were Milk France, Earl Grey and Cookies & Cream. With a taste similar to sweet condensed milk and a perfectly crisp shell with a nice chew, Milk France was definitely the standout. Compared to many other cafes that offer macarons, the ones here were all of great quality and didn’t taste old or overly refrigerated. As for the chocolate soufflé, there was a bit of a hiccup that was fortunately rectified by our server. I was warned that this dessert would take around 20 minutes. However, over half an hour had passed so I asked our server to check on it. Apparently, the soufflé didn’t rise and the kitchen had to redo it, hence the extended waiting time. Our server comped us for a free slice of vanilla bean cheesecake, which I ended up sharing with our table as we waited. When it finally came out, it was served piping hot, accompanied by a small pot of vanilla crème anglaise. And while it was pretty good, it also sort of reminded me of a chocolate mug cake and not something I’d necessarily pay $ 12 for or wait for that long again.

Surprised to see café concerto opening up at this location. It’s a nice surprise cause I can have a nice dessert/tea/coffee hangout place in this area. Food was decent. I had the ahi tuna poke salad and that was probably the best dish I had. The dressing was on point and topping it off with masago is just icing on the cake. I also had the pizza primavera its pretty good, crust is thin and crispy, but looks pretty with flower petals garnish. It’s not amazing, but its good pizza. The pasta i had is linguini vongole, the pasta is a little under cooked but the soup base is good, but the clams needs help. Now moving onto dessert, I was quite disappointed with them. The cake was average and macaroon are not my favorite. Sad cause I liked the dessert at the downtown location. But overall service was great, the waitresses were really tentative and friendly, food is decent, kids play ground just right outside, I probably wouldn’t mind coming back for more food and drinks.

I was teetering between three and four stars, but I think I ultimately have to give them three. So I’ve been around the block twice for Caffé Concerto. Once for dinner and once for lunch, both on weekdays(Monday dinner and Tuesday lunch). I didn’t care for what we got for dinner. It wasn’t impressive and it was overpriced for that we got. APPETIZERS: Calamari($ 11.50), portebello fries($ 8.50), and sautéed scallops($ 10.50). I like the scallops out of the trio of appetizers I ordered. I felt the portebello fries tasted better at Bottega Louie. The calamari is pretty on par with others I’ve tasted, so I’d rank it second of the three appetizers. ENTREES: Lobster pasta($ 21.50) and the 10 oz. rib eye steak($ 31.50). The lobster pasta comes in a white cream sauce and half a lobster, which I wasn’t expecting. I thought it would’ve been some chunks of lobster. I found it okay, but not to the level of raves that others gave at this and the Koreatown location. The rib eye was disappointing for the price. The quality tasted no better than your fast casual chain restaurant and there, they do not charge $ 30 for the steak. DESSERT: The chocolate soufflé($ 12) is the only dessert that takes at least 20 minutes for preparation, pretty standard of other places that offer a soufflé. It’s not bad, but not the best I’ve tasted. The entire time I was eating it, I just felt that it was lacking some pizzazz. For dinner, they bring you three pieces of sourdough bread. Tuesday lunch was a lot better. It was a bit chilly outside, so I warmed up by ordering their jasmine peach loose leaf tea for $ 4, which came with its own glass heater for the tea. Very cute! For lunch, they bring you some table bread. I was pleasantly surprised by this, and by the way, table bread for lunch was focaccia bread instead of sourdough! APPETIZERS: Crispy rice with spicy tuna($ 8.50) and spider roll($ 13.50). My favorite of the two was definitely the spider roll. It comes with your standard crispy soft-shell crab, avocado, and lemon mayo. Sure, the baby greens and asparagus are unique, but what made it even more so(especially if you don’t read the menu details like a hawk) is that the spider roll is not wrapped in seaweed. No, it was wrapped with the same material for spring rolls — rice paper! It was definitely different, but in a delicious way. MAIN: Their pizzas are made with squid ink dough. We ordered the Pizza Primavera($ 13.50) and asked if they could substitute the red onions for caramelized onions. They could. Yay! Pretty good, but pricey pizza. The pesto chicken sandwich($ 11.50) comes with soup or salad. The only soup they have that day was the mushroom soup, so we didn’t get to choose otherwise. The sandwich is really good. I’d recommend getting that on any day. DESSERT: I wasn’t planning on ordering dessert, but my eye spotted some magical words in the menu. *~AFFROGATO~*. At a $ 5.50 price tag, I kept my hopes low(I’ve ordered $ 9 affrogatos before). I didn’t need to. Caffé Concerto’s affrogato was the hugest I’ve seen at any place. There were generous scoops of vanilla ice cream and the amount of espresso to submerge said ice cream was perfect. Super satisfying. The standout of everything I’ve ordered here! Aesthetics-wise, I do like the way the place looks. It is open and airy, with bright white walls, an open space connecting bakery displaying sweets for now or later, strategically placed brick walls, lighted zodiac constellations on the ceiling, and mini TVs embedded in the white walls. Both times, BF got the seat that faced the mini TVs and while you can’t hear anything from the TV, he got a kick of watching whatever was playing. The look of Caffé Concerto sort of reminds me of a less warehouse-y Bottega Louie, slightly what I was envision a spacious French café to be. The look does seem to starkly juxtapose with the all-American Red Robin right next door and the children’s playground right in front, but then again, this mall is a hodgepodge of shopping experiences and businesses.

Located in the promenade at San Anita mall. This place is fairly new and the décor inside is very cute, modern, and vintage looking. What a great place to have a date. My friend and I came here around 7:00pm on a Wednesday night and there was no wait. This place is pretty big with lots of tables and a few booths. Also, the bakery here is amazing and it sells macaroons, cakes, and more! I ordered the daily special which was the penne pasta with chicken and cream sauce. It was very creamy and flavorful. As for my friend she ordered the baked salmon salad and she said it was good but not that good because her salmon was too cooked. We also ordered the sweet potatoes fries which were amazing! Everything here was amazing even the packaging for the food to go was cute. The waitress Christina was so nice and very informative. She was also very attentive when needed. I would most definitely come back here to try other things like the coffee or desert.

Caffe Concerto on a Thursday night as surprisingly empty! This place pretty fancy for the location it is in. Once you walk in to the left you can order your desserts to go I believe! The staff was very prompt and sat us down quickly. As your looking over the menu they bring out 2 types of bread. Can’t go wrong with either but I like the black bread better with the whipped butter. I was debating between the Penne Genovese and the Spaghetti Carbonara the whole time. I’m glad I went for the Penne Genovese. Which was a special during the time. It was a chicken pesto dish with garlic. It was delicious! I ate up the whole bowl and scooped the sauce out to make sure I got all of it. Truffle fries. Eh I didn’t like them at all. It was like thick cut steak fries not much truffle flavor. I tasted some of my friends Lobster Pasta, Seafood Risotto. No thanks i’ll stick to my Penne Genovese. One of the downsides of the experience is that my 2 of my friends order the Lobster Pasta with cream, but it came out with tomato sauce instead. So they had to wait a extra 10 – 15 minutes. Also this place is on the pricier.

In short food is good regardless what you order. We ordered the whole menu as we had a party of 12. Parking is easy, for Arcadia mall promenade parking, it’s always easy to park outside between Macy’s and Nordstrom and walk up. 2 mins walk up the stairs, or down under the lot and walk straight up. That’s how I get to haidilao, Macy’s, charming Charlie’s, and now CAFE Concerto! Service is great! The girl server was very accommodating even though our group is picky, demanding and kept asking for things and multiple people asking for things at once :) The manager was great, Derick? He came from the Ktown location and his service and photo skill are perfect. He was entertaining, friendly and engaging. We ordered steak, risotto, sea bass, chicken, pizza, lobster pasta, organic smoked salmon salad, salad as main course. Appetizers we order multiple scallop, truffle fries, mushroom portobello fries, and calamari frites. Nothing was left of all of the plate. Everything was good, and we all agreed this place isn’t a 3.5 stars. So collectively I decided to rate it 5 for the group of us, 12. My recommendation for smaller party, sea bass, scallop, salmon salad, Risotto. But everything else is good. Glad Arcadia have great restaurant like this around. * on the down side, they charged us for multiple bottle of wine when we ordered by the glasses. We had to correct them. *chair is also flimsy and will flip backward if you hang too many things on the back

This place is pretty difficult to find within the Santa Anita mall but that’s also because the mall is huge! It’s located out in the promenade area near red robins. The café is super cute with upscale décor and it was probably my favorite thing about this place! We didn’t order any drinks but shared a caprese pizza with squid ink which was good, but not worth the $ 16 dollar price tag. I also got two macaroons To go at 2.40 each which is decently priced. My mom ate them and said they were good but not spectacular. I probably would only come back for desserts & drinks next time if I’m in the area.

Nice modern look with a touch of vintage. Attention to detail. Good service. Chilean Seabass: The reason for 1 of the 2 stars. In love with the flavors and textures. Great item on the menu.(But why is this on the appetizer and not full entrée? The presentation looks like it belongs next to the salmon on menu) margherita pizza — standard. Made with octopus ink? interesting. bruschetta — standard Last but not least, the grand impression is left by: Seafood Risotto After being blown away by the seabass, I was excited to try the risotto.(We were doing family style). When the seafood risotto came, it had a stench(like urine) but I thought it was because it was seafood. We continued to nibble at the risotto each thinking it was normal. As soon as I bit into the mussel… $#*$)@#*$()*$!&*(. Needless to say, we returned it. The waiter was skeptical at first until he brought it closer to his nose. Then he’s like okay I smell it. lol. It was important to note that the waiters were really apologetic and gave us a macaron each to make us feel better. In conclusion, friend and I had diarrhea and upset stomach in that respective order. Aside from that little risotto incident, the chilean sea bass is definitely worth trying. Macaron was good. Caffe Concerto was a nice play to try but probably no strong urge to revisit any time soon.

Finally there’s a Café Concerto near to where I live and not having to drive all the way to ktown~! Location: ~ Took us some time before we managed to locate Café Concerto at Santa Anita Westfield Mall. It was located(outside) in between Macy and Hai Di Lao. What we did is we walk into Macy’s and walk out from the other entrance. Ambience: ~ Cosy, classy, elegant ~ Great place to bring your dates, hang out with friends for high tea/dinner ~ Creative digital frame on the walls ~ Interesting ceiling with the different astrology signs Food: ~ Steak Risotto is very good. Steak is well-seasoned, rissoto is cooked with creamy sauce, very very flavorful.(Note: Eat it while it’s piping hot) ~ Salmon Salad is very good too. Salmon is very well cooked, very soft and non-greasy. Salad is refreshing.

Great dinner with the fam. Walked by a couple of times and decided to venture out of our Taiwanese food comfort zone. I got the grilled squid salad, and omg was the squid tender, not chewy at all. We also got the lobster pasta and spaghetti bolognese. Bothe were solid. The wine list was good. And for the grand finale, the mango shaved ice. Very good experience. Nice décor. Good for family with small kids. Good for parents who want to get away from the kids. Will come back and try their extensive lunch appetizers.

Picture it, one Saturday afternoon, instead of staying at home, thinking about past lovers and why you’re still #foreveralone, you decided that you wanted to go shopping for some new clothes, you know, to perk up your mood. Once you wander into a few boutiques, what was once a sunny day became overcast and looks like a huge downpour was going to happen at any moment. Rather than getting your perfect #ootd and make-up ruined, you ducked into a random café, and that café happened to be Caffe Concerto. What’s on your mind was how cute a place existed without you knowing, and if there was a possibly you would find your shining white knight in here. Enough of the long-winded Korean drama set up. I have been to the K-Town Caffe Concerto a few times and written a review about it( . My only complaints was that the location was small that I was nubbin’ elbows with random strangers and that parking was always a pain. You won’t find those issues with the Arcadia location. Caffe Concerto is so spacious, and parking won’t be a big issue, if you don’t mind fighting the crowds with mall parking. The décor is pretty nice, something you would see in a Korean drama, without the camera, of course. It was like if you were sitting in a fancy cruise’s dining hall, with the astrological star sign constellation on the roof, chandeliers placed on a lower level deck, with a black and white movie playing on repeat outside the porthole. I do give this place a plus for separating the«to-go» area, so you’re not walking a hallway past through other people, just to grab a quick dozen of macaron. Food and price wise, it’s the same as the K-Town counterpart. Honestly, nothing really too special about it, just paying for atmosphere. The reason why I knocked it down a star is the service; despite the fact that there weren’t that many people at the time my friend and I went, it was pretty hard getting a server’s attention. I do miss call buttons, but seems like they decided not to include that into this branch, which may have killed the vibe. However, after my meal, when my friend was browsing the dessert display cases, I did see the host bring out a cup of water for an elderly person, who was sitting down at a nearby table. She didn’t seem like a patron; nevertheless, it was a generous offer. Do note, don’t except to find your Korean prince here; the servers are more of a reflection of the demographics that follows Arcadia. Not a bad place to hang out with a few friends to grab some food or drinks. Wouldn’t mind coming back here for a small party, just to see how the place would be fully packed, like in Koreatown.

Review is for the macarons only: Got 6 flavors $ 15.00 — same price as ktown. However, EPICFAIL! :(From the display case, they looked really good, but after biting into them — wow, it was hard and stale! The shells broke immediately, and it wasn’t soft and chewy. Though, only the Rose Flavor held its own and was delicious, while the flavors: Jasmine, Milk, Turquoise, Almond Praline, and Black Sesame were a disappointment. Macarons are not worth it here. I’ll stick to the ones in ktown. Service: The guy handling my macs — wouldn’t kill you to put on a smile instead of that snobby, fobby, male version resting b**ch face, sheesh! As for the place itself, it’s really peaceful and serene and beautiful. It would be a lovely place to have a nice lunch or dinner. I’ll try here again for the meals to see if the stars will change, but otherwise, for the macarons — PASS!

Ive been to Caffe concerto in Korea town a couple time and really love it there, so i was extremely excited that they were moving over closer to home. I have been raving highly to almost everyone I know about their infamous Macaroons and their dessert section! First and foremost, the décor is def chic and classy, A lot smaller than their location in Ktown. They have high ceiling and tv inside frame on the walls which def add to the ooh factor of the spot. However adorable the location is the service was ummm… not up to par to their classy exterior. Its like their macaroons, no matter how pretty and how amazing the presentation the core has to be just as great ! I was pretty darn disappointed and a bit embarrassed that I made my friends ordered 10 pieces of Macaroons and also the reminders of forcing people purchase them and have them come back to me saying it was… not very good. I have to say we did go at the end of the evening and perhaps by that point the macaroons were dried out but… if thats the case don’t serve them. I wouldn’t come back for them had I been a brand new customer of Concerto.

I been here both in lunch and dinner and had good amount of different dishes before I making my judgement of this place. Atmosphere is quite nice, probably the nicest restaurant décor in the mall. There’s really no fine dining in the mall except the nearby HaiDiLao Hotpot. It was good to see variety of restaurant popping out in here. It was surprise to see concerto show up here and was unexpected. The restaurant is smaller than original ktown location and the worst thing about here is that majority of the dessert is delivery from K-Town such as Macaron and Cakes, this can be a turnoff for many reason. I try their macaron several different one in two different time and both were tasted like were been sit there for a day or 2. Food is however much better than the dessert, since is prepare in house obviously. They had good selection to choose from, and has good presenation and is pretty good for most part. However the price is overpriced… I came here during their opening promotion 50% off. If this were full price it was hard for to justified. Service was god awful first visit, several order came very late and there confusion. Some staff only start working that day. The second visit in lunch were much better and were no issue. It was a different crew maybe that’s why.

I found out via Unilocal about their grand opening event, which was a 50% off promotion. We ordered a lot for just the two of us and the bill came out to be under $ 30. A huge come-up! :-) I had just one experience with Caffe Concerto in the past, and it was with the location in ktown. I bought a blueberry cake from their bakery and it was so EXQUISITE that I was always curious about the restaurant portion of this establishment. Upon entering, the place looks real quaint and fancy, almost the same feel as Bottega Louie, but once taking a closer look at everything, you realize that all of their furniture is made of plastic! I found it humorous but I can see how some people may feel deceived. I’d still recommend this place for a girls’ outing or for casual dates. The food was adequate, but nothing particularly wowed me. They give out free bread and potato soup in the beginning. The soup was tasteless. We ordered brussel sprouts which was sauteed with minced garlic and tasted nice, but it was nothing I couldn’t make at home myself. The seafood risotto had a generous amount of seafood, but the rice was salty. On the other hand, we liked the lobster pasta in tomato sauce — the size of the Maine lobster was enormous! The pasta was cooked al dente and the tomato sauce was creamy and flavorful. The food is honestly pretty average but our service was outstanding. We were checked up on frequently and our drinks were always full. I was especially happy after seeing our discounted bill!

UNEXPECTEDWINNER LOCATION: next to Red Robin at the Promenade area. PARKING: Free plenty in the complex. ATMOSPHERE: bright, high ceiling, Victorian style. MUSIC: inconsistent(sometime sad Korean song, sometime energetic Spanish song). RESTROOM: clean, bright This place reminds me of Bottega Louie but smaller scale(desserts area/bar/dining area). The décor looks cheap, e.g. the candle holder is from plastic. The oil smells weird. FOODS: ### FREE breads upon arrival ### Lobster pasta: half lobster, pasta tastes OK in my opinion, not too salty. ### Sea bass: the BEST, order this. DRINKS: ### Lavender milk tea: watered down, bleh! ### Blend 333(hot)(rosehips, camomile, peppermint) presented well. We also could request honey without additional cost. Tastes great, smells good. DESSERTS: I thought the highlight of the day would be the desserts as they’re famous for this. Turned out all macaroons that we tasted were stale. Blah! SERVICE: ### They forgot one of the drink order, we notified our server three times for this lavender milk tea. At the third times, the server came back to us and reported that it will be ready in 2 minutes. ### They forgot 1(one) entrée. We had to notify the server and she notified the kitchen. The food came when everybodys done eating. I’d recommend to come for lunch time or coffee/desserts during daytime. Maybe the macaroons will be still fresh. The winner of this place was the entrée instead of the macaroons(during my visit).

I was really excited when I heard Caffe Concerto was opening closer to me, so I wouldn’t have to go to Ktown to try it. Honestly, the experience was a big let down. We got the tapas first. I would say the Chilean Sea Bass was delicious! I would also recommend the scallops, the sauce made it amazing! The entrees, on the other hand, were the biggest disappointment of the night. The lobster pasta(which is their signature dish and something I’ve always wanted to try) was disappointing. The lobster wasn’t even fresh. The salmon was overcooked and dry. The rib eye was well done and dry also, after we specifically asked for medium rare. Just a big disappointment overall. I hope they can fix the kinks and be able to bring out the quality of food that they are known for.

Hmmm where should I even start about this place? I heard about the hype since the Ktown one was doing so well. Ambiance: Great! They definitely try to keep the upscale classy feel, pretty similar to Bottega Louie in DTLA. Date place. Service: Since they just had their Grand Opening, I will let it slide here and say a lot of the workers are not perfect on their service yet. They brought the wrong dish out once and also gave us the wrong check for the table. FOOD– APPETIZERS: These were all good– Truffle Fries, Sea Bass, Scallops. Out of all these, I would say the bass was the best! ENTREES: All of them were a FAIL. Lobster Pasta– This was one of their most popular and highly recommended dish. I don’t know how they can screw this one up. The lobster was definitely not fresh. The pasta was undercooked, and the sauce was overcooked to the point where we could taste the burnt. Either that or they don’t rinse their pans well enough so you still get a taste from what was cooked previously. Rib Eye Steak: Horrible. And they made this their most expensive dish. We asked for medium rare. Turned out well done. The outside and even 80% of the interior was overdone to the point where it was dried. Big fail. Salmon: This was also overdone. You can tell because the meat was hard, when salmon is normally pretty tender and soft. They should also add a pinch of lemon on top to make it taste better. Seafood Risotto: The clams were not fresh. The leftover water also dripped into the risotto, making it more watery than it should be. The sauce/cream were good, but it could be better. After all the failed entrees, we decided to skip on dessert. CONCLUSION: There’s a lot of room for improvement. I do like how they designed the place. They do try to make it more upscale and classy, but if the food doesn’t match up to what we are paying for, we would not come back. Appetizers were good, so don’t change that.

Hello Caffe Concerto! My friends and I came after hearing about the 50% off promotion. If you make a reservation this month from Monday-Thursday, you can get 50% off your bill. Email them at and make sure you receive a confirmation email! Everything went smoothly regarding the discount. Recently found out that they also have a location in downtown LA. This location is located in the Promenade right by Macy’s and Red Robin. This restaurant reminded me of a smaller version of Bottega Louie. The décor was very white and elegant and modern. They had old school film playing in the windows along the wall at the right. Desserts were at the left side while seats were in the middle to left side of the restaurant. Bathrooms are at the back left towards the kitchen. Food: The restaurant serves various dishes including pasta, salads, rice dishes, entrees(steak, burgers, etc), pizza, sandwiches, appetizers, etc. They also serve wine, beer, soda, teas, etc. I had the linguini vongole pasta which had manila clams, chili, italian parsley with white wine garlic sauce. The portion was a bit smaller than I hoped it to be. I was very happy though that they were very generous with the clams! Clams overload which I was completely fine with. It tasted very light yet still flavorful. The pasta was $ 17.50. My other friend ordered the chicken and mushroom risotto. That dish was soooooo delicious! Just the right amount of creaminess and flavor. I would definitely order that next time. Again, I think the portion was a bit small. The risotto was $ 16.50. Dessert: We also had a cheesecake for dessert. I was not liking the cheesecake. It was more like a cake than a cheesecake. It tasted really fluffy and there was no graham cracker crust(my fav)! They had like white chocolate shavings and cream on the outside which was good but overall, I would definitely not order that again. My friend ordered their matcha green tea cake before and they said that was also not good and very dry. Guess we should stay away from their desserts unless they are macarons. Speaking of macarons, that was delicious! Perfectly crunchy and fluffy at the same time. They have TONS of flavors and each cost $ 2.40. Flavors include earl grey, salted caramel, jasmine, mint chcocolate, vanilla, milk france, turquoise, pistachio, cookies n cream, matcha, etc. A small box can fit 6 macarons. Service: Our server was super friendly and was very knowledgeable on the dishes and drinks. He conversed with us and others helped us take pictures. At one point, a random guy came in asking us for money and the staff came rushing over, apologizing to us and shooed him away. Overall, I had a great experience and was especially happy after seeing our bill discounted at 50% off haha. This is a pricier place with majority of the dishes $ 12+. So if you feel like splurging a bit, check this place out! — — - Came here for the second time and got their Gorgonzola pizza. Their pizzas are made with squid ink so don’t be freaked out if the dough is black. The Gorgonzola pizza has white sauce, gorgonzola cheese, caramelized onions, walnuts and served with a side of honey. You don’t have to put the honey on top of it if you don’t want to but surprisingly, it goes with the pizza really well! I was weirded out at first but I assumed it would be good since it’s suppose to be topped with honey and yessss it wassss. The pizza overall was very delicious which makes me want get more pizzas next time!

I’ve been waiting for Caffe Concerto to open for awhile, so the moment I heard it was open, I knew I had to make a visit for myself. I’ve been to the LA location several times and had very good experiences, and my experience at the Arcadia location did not disappoint. Caffe Concerto is located in the Promenade at Westfield Santa Anita by Red Robin and Macy’s(by the outdoor playground area). I love the ambience of the restaurant. It’s very classy with a sophisticated elegance — the lighting is pretty dim, making it a very nice date place to go to. The left side is where all the macarons, pastries, and cakes are, underneath bright lights. I believe you do all the to-go orders on that side as well. The right side is for the dine-in patrons. This is quite similar to the LA location where they have their desserts on display. I came with a couple of friends and tried a variety of items(items from the Ktown location as well as some new ones): Seafood Risotto: This was my favorite dish out of all the ones we tried. While there were lots of mussels, scallops, shrimp — the star of the dish was the risotto. The flavors were on point, and if I could put into words what it tasted like, I would say creamy tomato flavor. Definitely a dish to try! Lobster Pasta: We ordered the pasta with a cream sauce instead of tomato(you’re able to mix the two and get a pink sauce, too!). This dish was really good, but quite heavy. There was a ton of bacon bits in the dish, but the sauce was what brought the dish together. While I consider it to be heavy, the flavors were there — it was creamy, the pasta was cooked al dente, and the lobster — there were quite a few pieces of lobster on top and eaten with the pasta … wow, we were full pretty quickly! Asado Pizza: All pizza is made on squid ink dough, which is pretty unique. This pizza had steak, avocado and cilantro, which made for an interesting pizza. We were all fans of it — I mean, steak, avocado, cilantro, cheese — the flavors were good and not too salty. The crust was crispy. I don’t know if I’d order it again, but it was a good dish. Ceviche: The star of this dish was the ceviche dip in the middle — shrimp, avocado, tomatoes, lime with crispy tortilla chips on the sides. I think this was a good appetizer, but I have had better ceviche at other places. Pretty refreshing and a good way to start the meal. Spicy Poke Tuna Salad: I liked the overall dish and would probably order it again. There were lots of spicy tuna slices as well as a good amount of salad(and beets). The sauce was a good vinaigrette flavor. And we can’t have a meal without dessert(and drinks)! Affogado: Caffe Concerto really specializes in coffee and espresso, so it was no wonder the shot of espresso was decadent and rich. The pungent aroma as it was poured over the vanilla ice cream — wow, we all really liked this dessert! Chocolate Soufflé:(20 minutes to cook) Adding the vanilla bean into the center and eating the soft cake … we were already pretty full, but my friends and I were able to save room for dessert. This was definitely a good cake, but we’ve had better soufflés elsewhere. The flavor was good(esp. with the cream), but I think it could have been lighter and fluffier. Lavender Latte: If you’re into sweet and flowery drinks, this is definitely the latte for you. We all thought it tasted good, albeit a tad bit too sweet. Green Tea Latte: Solid green tea latte. The taste was good(and didn’t have that bitter green tea taste that I usually dislike). I would order this again. Chai Tea Latte: This was definitely my favorite of the night! The chai adds a bit of a kick to the latte and keeps you feeling more warm on a cold night. I thought the flavor was on point — not too overwhelming or powerful. Honey Fresh Yuzu: An interesting drink if you’re into the more sprite/tangy type of drink. The fresh yuzu at the bottom gave the overall drink an interesting texture. and macarons of course! My favorite flavor is the turquoise — there are fresh blueberries inside and the filling is so creamy and decadent! I also really like milk, rose, jasmine, yuzu lemon, and salted caramel. I’ve tried black sesame, espresso, and cookies and cream, and they all have really good flavor(that is true to each name), but I prefer the former flavors that I mentioned. The service at Caffe Concerto is exceptional. The workers all strive hard to make sure you have a good experience and definitely go above and beyond. tl;dr — I’m so glad there’s a 5-star macaron place in SGV! They’re really pricey, but worth the price if you buy them in moderation. Caffe Concerto is definitely a more elevated and fancy dining experience, and I’m glad I had the chance to try a wide variety of dishes! Would recommend the Seafood Risotto, Chai Latte, and of course, the macarons.
