I’ve had some pretty bad hair experiences in the past which makes me pretty nervous about trying new places. I came to 1^st avenue salon to dye my hair & it was the best experience i’ve had. They’re all very nice & accomodating. I had very long, thick hair so it took a long time but they were patient & did an amazing job! Definitely going back for a haircut soon!

Ask Lena to do your brows! I was Extremely satisfied with her work! Strongly recommend!

Hairstylist Galia is great with her hands. I have gone with her for 3+ years and always leaves my hair flawless. If you’re looking for somebody with experience she is your go-​to-​girl. She always leaves my hair the way I wanted. Never have I walked away not satisfied.

The stylist I had, Diana, was tough to communicate with. She was silently finishing up washing my hair when I realized I had to start telling her what I wanted. Usually stylists ask me questions, so it took me a while to realize she didn’t ask me what I wanted. I believed she understood what I described so I just let her do her thing.
At the end, she did a great job, it just wasn’t what I had described. The only times she really spoke with me was when she tried to sell me products. She also started curling my hair before she fully brushed it out. So she got frustrated when she got to the tangles she left behind, and snapped «It’s because your hair is so thin!» So I asked for a brush from her so I can brush the tangles out and help her out, but she just ignored me and finally got to brushing out my hair.
It was a beautiful salon, but the experience was very underwhelming and confusing because of how the stylist interacted with me. I just felt very ignored, and spent the majority of the time trying to remember the Spanish I’ve learned because the staff was talking a lot with each other.

Damaging lives and careers. That is Veka’s specialty!
My daughter was working as an assistant in a High End salon in Santa Monica. A 5 hour commute. She decided to look for something closer.
Veka called my daughter back for an interview for an Asistant job. Everything went well. She got the job and she told Veka’s that she would have to put in her two week notice with the Santa Monica Job, which she did. Veka’s told her to come in and that her that her first day would just be training. Day two, slow day in the salon. Veka told her to Highlight her hair and blow dry it.
My daughter was fired after 2 days for blow drying too slow. Veka paid her cash for the two days and tried to make her sign a paper that said that she wasn’t hired and that she was «shadowing her». My daughter is inteligent, so she did not sign it. Falsifying documents is illegal.
Veka knew that my daughter quit a good job in order to work there, yet she stabbed my daughter and her career in the back. (Heard from a good source– «She fires a lot».)
My opinion, do not apply for a job at this salon.

I was referred to 1^st Avenue salon by a coworker to see Isabel (Isabella). It’s the best thing I’ve done for my hair, she never disappoints! Every color, cut, blow-​dry I’ve gotten has been flawless!:D

I love how Veka leaves my hair feeling and looking. She is truly the best styling. Proud of her accomplishments. I love the Aveda products she uses on my hair. I recommend First Avenue Salon.

1^st Avenue Salon is more than a salon. Vekka has transformed my hair from awful brassy different patches of colors to gorgeous natural looking silky locks. Everyone that works there is a wonderful team and is so polite. I feel welcomed right when I walk into the door! The products 1^st Avenue uses are award winning and smell DIVINE!!! This salon is the best, has the best products and transforms you into the best– so you walk out feeling confident and beautiful! I will come here forever!

Best service ever, came to retouch and lighten my hair and loved the results. I came in and was treated with excellent service, wine to begin. I was the last to leave and my hair looks amazing the results I was looking forward. Veka not only did an amazing job but she also treated my hair that was somewhat damaged and weak she really did miracles. Definitely coming back and sending my friend’s.

I’ve been going to Veka religiously for the past 4 years now. I don’t trust anyone else with my hair. She’s very sweet and personable and most importantly she listens! I always leave her salon happy and looking fabulous. If you want it done right the first time come to First Avenue Salon.

I have been coming to First Ave Salon for a few years now. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is great. Veka is amazing at listening to what I want done and executing it to perfection. I am very happy with the ombré/​balayage she did for me yesterday. Highly recommend!

Aside from the first things I look for, Distance from home always plays a roll. Don’t be lazy get up and go get your hair done right! Products and professionalism is ON POINT! I drive from the OC. I like what I like.
If you want your hair done right, you’ve come to the right place! Especially if you want the RED HEAD NOT THE BED HEAD! Come in the water is warm. SLAYIN ITTT.

I haven’t touched my hair cut it nothing after a traumatic hair cut :/​. I met a very friendly, outgoing hair stylist named Kim. She made me feel so comfortable and we chatted all throughout the process. :) During the cut she took her time didn’t rush at all. The finale… My hair was JUST AMAZING ! The cut, the style, blow-​dry just amazing work!!! I couldn’t be any happier with my cut in such a long time. I will definitely be a returning customer for any further styling :))) you won’t be dissapointed!!! THANK YOU AGAIN KIM! :)

Cool, stylish, cosmopolitan, and easy! This is now my go-​to hair salon — I get a beautiful job done on my hair (color, highlights, & glossy finish), and I also get my nails done (gel with acrylic) & my eyebrows waxed — Lena does the nails & waxing in and around the hair styling. I have liked several of the hair stylists… just walking in without an appointment but am currently lovin’ Veka’s skills!

I always wanted to have my hair red but it was too much work for me to keep retouching it. However Veka gave me the perfect haircut and color which I love so much because it’s easy to keep up with my red. Not only did I love my hair color but she gave me the best Aveda products to keep my red hair shining! I being coming with her about four months and I would definitely recommend the ladies to stop by.
Not only do they leave you looking like a model but the service is great!!!

This comment is about their new nail tech Lena” shes amazing!!! Uses high quality material and products and always does an amazing job! I’m very picky about my nails (I only do coffin/​ballerina style nails and I followed her from Monterey Park to Arcadia) BTW I live in diamond bar and work in LA. She’s worth the drive. The room has a very high end plush «boutique» feel. Check her out
