So far, I’ve only had the shrimp tacos, tacos de camarrones, because they are so good! Plump tasty, cooked just right — not overcooked like most tacos. The salsas are excellent, both the spicy pico de gallo and a mild chipotle. Working people, locals, no frills, nothing fancy but excellent food at good prices. I’ll be back again and try to try something else.

Huge breakfast burritos, friendly staff and reasonable prices! Wish there was a bit more flavor to the chorizo, but overall good place to go!

Heard they slashed their prices recently. I wonder why, when everyone else’s is going up. Sad to say but just hurry up and go out of business or sell it to an owner that cares.

Los Gordos has always been great. Been coming here for years and always get the same thing, a bean, cheese, and rice burrito and then get salsa from the salsa bar. I love Los Gordos because it is always quick, fresh, and everything in here is really really clean. My moms friend is a food inspector and she said Los Gordos is one of the few places she will eat in Aptos. Overall, good & quick service, fresh& clean food, big portions for the right price. 5 stars :)

Cannot get order right! Food is not very fresh. This place use to be good but I have a feeling the have either changed ownership or quit caring. At this point Taco Bell is better and at least they get your order right. The last 3 times we tried this place, completely unsatisfactory. Will not try again.

I have gone to this taqueria for about 10 years now, and I have seen it slowly gone down hill. It used to be the only taqueria I would go to, but every time I have gone in the last year or two it has gotten worse and worse. The cashier is always rude and rushing, they decreased their portions dramatically, and it is indeed sloppy. Not to mention the asada always has plenty of gristle. I opt for vegetarian burritos now, but it seems to be mostly cabbage now, LOL. My boyfriend got the most expensive nachos they offer only to receive a tiny carton smaller than a bowl of some chips, minuscule amount of cheese, and a small dollop of topping. Pretty sad since this used to be my favorite place, but it’s not worth wasting your money there.

I will not be back. Yesterday I was rushing to make it there before they closed. Their«hours» are 9 – 9. When I realized I was just barely going to make it I was SO happy and relieved. I had just worked 12 hours, was craving a burrito, and love how close Los Gordos is to my house! I pull into the parking lot at 8:45, so happy and so ready to get my burrito and go home after a loooong day. I walk up to the front door and see a lady inside sweeping the floor. I see floor mats sitting on top of the grill(dirty) and the door is locked. They closed early. I will not be back.

Always the best can be expected from here! Highly affordable and definitely a better choice financially and food wise than Manuels down the street. However, they don’t always understand the over the phone orders.

This is my third time coming here and I came with my mom and ordered 3 regular tacos which never disappoint ! The guacamole on the other hand is not fresh and tastes fake and the chips are very much stale for paying 3 dollars ! Overall not very happy that I spent 20 dollars on fake guacamole and stale chips but the tacos are worth the 2.65

This is a remarkable little place! I’ve never had better home fries in my own kitchen or a restaurant than here. Lovely small(could they be home pressed?) tortillas… great huevos rancheros, and a veggie quesadilla made a terrific brunch. This is a cheap place, friendly, but no special amenities,(there is sports TV), but also a huge window, so filled with nice morning light. We will try other things, as I read the reviews.

Been going to this place since it opened.(~15 yrs). Used to be good value Mex food with quality ingredients. They have recently raised the prices significantly(jumbo burrito is now $ 8.55!). Plus their carnitas are not like the great crispy ones we used to get. Think we’ll pass on this place for a while as there too many other good restaurants to choose from.

Nice pleasant atmosphere. Great service. Carne Asada is ok. Don’t go for the super taco. They just upsell you from a regular one by putting a mound of lettuce one it. Fast service. Friendly cash register girl. A good stop for a fair priced meal.

This is a «go-to» for week nights when my husband and I both work late. Typically, we eat here 2 – 3 times/month. The reason: quick, easy, close by. When we think of TG it’s not for authenticity, taste or cost; simply convenience and ability to accommodate different dietary/tastes. Z

There uses to be two types of Mexican restaurants in California… Taquerias that almost exclusively catered to Mexican and Mexican American clientele that typically had great food and more Tex-mex style places that catered to the gringo crowd. Things have changed and unfortunately there are tons of taquerias that take a lax approach to their cuisine figuring that the clientele they have grew up on Rex-mex and chipotle and doesn’t know what good Mexican food is. This is one of those places. Horrible salsa. Fish taco was really disappointing. The carnitas was acceptable and the green salsa they put on them that they don’t put out was good.

The food can be tasty, depending on who’s in the kitchen on a given day. But the food is only part of the reason we go to Los Gordos regularly: we love the diversity. It’s a true neighborhood place, representing a cross section of people. You’ll see skateboarders, families, Cabrillo athletes, blue-collar, white-collar. A fun, bustling melting pot. And there’s always soccer on the tele!

This place is solid! Amazing salsa bar. Their chorizo is soooo good! Super reasonable prices. My go to when I don’t feel like cooking. Yum!

My go-to taqueria in town. This place is awesome. This is the second place I’ve been in the whole county that knows how to cook proper carnitas. The price is fair and their pico de gallo is fresh and self served. I recently moved to Aptos from Scotts Valley and sadly had to ditch my all time favorite taqueria Los Gallos. I am happy to say I don’t have to make the commute and can settle for a new place near home!
