Let me just start this review off with their customer service, it was absolutely exquisite! Everyone was so friendly and outgoing. I was in the area a few days ago and I decided to get a manicure and I was very satisfied with the outcome. The manicurists did everything I asked for and more. They were fairly gentle with me and my sensitive hands and they made very good conversation during as well. My hands came out looking more fabulous than ever. After getting my nails done, I decided my eyebrows needed some loving, so one of the employees waxed them. And let’s just say those came out as fabulous as my nails. I’m very satisfied with this nail salon, and I will for sure be coming back!

I’m sorry to give this place a one star review, but it’s the pits and, worse of all, I suspect it not the most hygenic place around. I say that because I watched them as they cleaned up after my pedicure & it was not done properly. Like others, I wanted this salon to be great because it’s so convenient, but they are slow, rough, forgetful, and their polish is way too thick. Additionally, for what they deliver, they are WAY overpriced.

I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. May is so kind to all her customers and will keep her door open for a last minute shellac without making you feel rushed and the quality of her work speaks for itself.
The ambiance is mellow, positive and the salon is clean and spacious.
While they may charge a bit more than their competition, you get what you pay for in terms of quality. My shellac mani lasted for several weeks and the pedi over a month!

Found this place that’s walking distance from a beach house my family and I are renting for the weekend. Brought my sister-​in-​law for her first pedicure ever… the day before her 50^th birthday! Great service and very friendly. The salon is very clean and has comfortable pedicure chairs. We did the «deluxe» that includes a hot stone massage — highly recommend. We love our French pedicures!

I really want to like this salon. It is convenient for me and they are so accommodating to my young daughter when she comes with me. The people are nice and friendly.
I have had 3 or 4 basic mani/​pedis here and all but one of them did not set correctly. Either the polish was WAY too thick and it all peeled off the next day, or the toes chipped or had lint/​etc in them. Once I just got a buff for my manicure because I thought it would be better then having to take the polish off the next day and it cost $ 5 more to buff and the nails were not filed evenly so the extra shine — which lasted a night — was not worth it.
As to the pedi — for some reason the way they cut my big toe — it starts to hurt in the cuticle side area in 6 days… every time.
Also they always try to upsell.
I am confused by the great reviews as I have been here multiple times. My guess is that the results largely depend on who you get to do your nails. Some technicians are better than others.

Got my nails done here for the first time and Tran was the wonderful person who did my gel nails and under arm wax. I have to say she’s fast and very professional. My nails looks amazing and my underarms looks flawless!!! I will recommend this place to anyone who’s down in Santa Cruz!

I took my daughter here for her 13^th birthday and we got their Signature Pedicure and it was quite lovely! Foot and calf massage, yummy citrus smelling scrub (should’ve shaved my legs before I went :) but oh well), some kind of green mask, hot stones, and then feet stuck in bags of hot purple paraffin wax. Yes! Bring it! My feet definitely needed this pampering!
The interior is VERY pretty and calming. Love the blue paint, fits with being next to the beach and the, wait for it… Ocean! I’ll repeat what other Unilocalers have said, because it’s true, it’s very clean and seriously doesn’t smell like any kind of nail chemical funk that the other salons I’ve been to smell like. How do they do that?
It’s a bit pricier than other salons but the benefit of it being a 10 minute walk from my house makes it worth it. I’ll probably go with the basic when I go back, as I can’t afford a $ 45 pedicure every time, but since my girl officially became I teenager, I splurged. They only turn 13 once right? (thank goodness)
The employees are very sweet, the gentleman that seemed to run the place is funny and nice. He played a bunch of birthday songs for my kid :) The ladies that worked on us were nice, but sort of quiet. Which I’m fine with, just noticed that.
Just to note, I got rhinestones on my big toes and 2 have fallen off already, and it’s only been 2 days, so that’s a bit of a bummer. I don’t know what I did, I’m usually more aware of my feet when they’re prettied up like this. Anyhoo, maybe it was because it was last minute.

I was so impressed with this nail salon. My daughter got married on September 12,2015 and her and me and 3 wedding party girls went here to get our manicures and pedicures on sept. 11, 2015. We got the best treatment ! Kind, mellow, professional care. This type of customer service rocked any other salon treatment I have ever had, and I’m a 55 year old mother of the bride who has had many pedis n manis. Super crew. Loved this place. Recommend it highly. ThNk you all for such above average care and sensitivity to the wedding party … 10 stars to infinity and beyond… Loved it.

I’ve never given this low of a rating to anything before, but unfortunately this experience merited it. I think this is the first time Unilocal has led me astray, because I came in largely because of the good reviews.
I came in for a mani pedi the day before my wedding with my mom. We didn’t have an appointment and they were busy, but they were nice enough to accommodate me because my wedding was the next day, which I really appreciated (one star for that).
However, the rest of the experience went downhill. They took forever to do a french pedicure, and the color was really harsh and ugly, with the white way too bright and big. I asked them to do more coats to improve it, but it still looked pretty ugly. My mom’s french manicure was similar, and not smooth.
After that pedicure experience, I asked that my manicure not be french. The manicure was okay, although she cut my finger on the first one so I had to ask her not to do my cuticles.
The worst part is that literally THAT SAME NIGHT the pedicure was ruined. It smudged all over and the white part turned a weird shade of pale blue. I’ve never seen that happen before. I added a picture to show what I mean. My wedding was the next day so I ended up having to paint over my own toenails with some old polish I happened to have — definitely not the wedding pedicure experience I wanted to have!
It ended up costing $ 70 for two manicures and a pedicure and for that price I would have expected much much more. There’s a big sign at the salon that says «no refunds» and now I think I know why…

Walked in and told the lady that I wanted a basic mani pedi. She gave me a deluxe pedicure and didn’t listen to what I was trying to tell her. She massaged a bruise on my ankle and jabbed me with utensils. I asked for French tips and charged me extra without telling me. I ended up with dry skin all around my nails because she pretended to clip them off and she filed the skin on my fingers. For a 45 $ mani pedi, I would expect better than this. Also, they used a harsh pinkish colored overcoat for French tips that I don’t like.
