Nice collection– from native desert life to Roy and Dale memorabilia. It’s one and done for most adults. No real reason to go back twice. They don’t really host events have special speakers or anything. But for little tykes they typically have a decent calendar if events.

Neat place to take the kids. Lot of fond memories here of ours growing up. Really a local treasure most don’t know about

pretty cool little gem that you need to go to at least once if you live in the desert. I’ve been up here for 25 years and there’s some crap i didn’t know.

This is a neat little museum. Inside you’ll find exhibits on geology, biology, early life in the High Desert and more. One hour would be about right to see everything, so it isn’t a half-day commitment of time. I was surprised that there wasn’t more about the rail history of the area, but I suppose that the museums at Barstow cover that well. Victorville had a small yellow depot years ago, and is still a stop on the Amtrak Southwest Chief route. The museum is in an odd location, adjacent to a residential area. It’s set back from the street, and there are no signs near the street to advertise it. There are no windows that face the street, so it’s a bit difficult to determine if it’s open. Stop by. You should enjoy it!

Well, for our high desert, it is not bad… Just not incredible. Has section on Mojave desert and on Death Valley. A small geology room and a little area on local history… Also an archeology section on Native American groups of San Bernardino County. I could see recommending it to my third graders and their families! Goes with our curriculum.
