I’m not from Apple Valley, but my fiancé introduced me to this place. He’s a fan of their burritos, and I quickly caught on with his love of Lola’s burrito. The location of Lola’s is a hidden spot. It’s easy to miss because it is behind a gas station… So if you’re all wondering what is behind that Valero gas station with the gray looking buildings, Lola’s is right there. Even though the outside has an unpleasant decoration consisting of piles of bird poop and unmaintained cleanliness, don’t let that fool you when you enter inside their heaven of goodness. The place is always empty whenever my fiancé and I stop by, but sometimes there are a few customers enjoying their meals. My fiancé and I love their burritos and we find ourselves coming to them on a regular basis. Their tortillas are made right in their kitchen which means they’re fresh and hand made. I am also a fan of their green salsa that make that comes with the burrito too; it’s not too bland, not too spicy, not too sour, just perfect. And their horchata is amazing too! Definitely one of our go to places for burrito cravings.

I was a big fan of this restaurant about 10 years ago. Having not been here in 10 years I was excited to come back. I was let down. The food prices were more expensive than they used to be. That’s not an issue. The issue is you get significantly less food than you used to. The drink prices are outrageous and there’s a 50c «because we can» transaction fee for card payments. That was the kicker. Overall I spent nearly $ 10 for a burrito that’s half the size it used to be and a drink. Horrible. I’ll keep my memories of when me and my mom used to visit here when she was alive but I definitely won’t be coming back. Too expensive too little food and too much nickel and dimeing in the way of outrageous refill prices and«because we can» transaction fees.

After 5 years of living close to Lola’s, I finally stopped by tonight. I ordered the Tuesday special, hard tacos for 99cents and an order of Pueblo Nachos(Nachos Supreme) to go. I did not expect to wait 30+ min. It seems they get a lot of phone orders. The food was good and inexpensive. Next time I will phone order ahead.

The chips and salsa they give you before your meal are very good, and a good amount to keep you satisfied until your meal arrives. They service is fast. I had a bean and cheese burrito, and everything was perfect. Perfect tortilla, perfect amount of beans and cheese, and perfectly hot

First time here, and I must say I found a new hot spot! Would have been 5 stars easy, except for the longer than norm wait time. Food tasted great, fresh, and homemade tortillas can’t be beat! Cashier was friendly and patient and very helpful. Will visit again soon!

Great authentic Mexican food! The Carnitas nachos are to die for, burritos are just delicious. Tortillas are amazing, especially in the carne asada or carnitas quesadilla. I have been a loyal customer for years. Shout out to victor, he is awesome. Please stop by next time you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.

3 stars for the pork wet burritos. 1 minus star for the taco Tuesday tacos. Apparently they consider a mere 1 teaspoon of meat per taco a proper amount of meat. Not a value at all. We go to Lola’s often but we will stick to del taco for the 99 cent tacos. Way more bang for the buck.

Stopped at Lola’s on the way to visit my daughter in the desert. The tortillas alone convinced me this will be my first of many stops on future trips. Three of us shared our burritos and it just kept getting better.

Great place to stop in for authentic Mexican food. I’ve had several different dishes and they are just like my mom use to make, delicious. Lola’s is a very casual, come as you are kind of place. You order up at the counter then they bring your food to you. It is a family run business and the prices are very reasonable. I love that you can go in eat drink and be merry and they never seem to rush you out. This place is located pretty far east on Bear Valley, closer to Apple Valley. If you are ever in the area. it’s a must stop in. This place get’s my 5 stars, it is what it is and great at it!

The wet burritos are the best. This is hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant! I’ve been coming for over 15 years and yet to find a yummier bean and cheese wet burrito!

well my husband and I decided that we needed to visit Lola’s for dinner. we have ate at Lola’s for a long time. I mean for over 13 years. we took a break of 4 years, so Lola’s sounded good. ok so we notice the prices were a bit high but went ahead and ordered our dinner. for a family of 4 we paid $ 35 for burritos and sodas. as we sat there we got our chips and salsa, which was a quarter filled of salsa. the salsa was not the same! we then got our burritos, all I can say was where was the meat! I ate tortilla burrito with missing meat. now the meat that was in the burrito tasted old like they reheated it. maybe I came on a off day for the cook but one thing I have enjoyed about Lola’s was their consistency of the food and price to match the great tasting food. that doesn’t seem to be any more. I will not visit again since it’s not near where I live. nor will I go out of my way to eat there. so long Lola’s it was my pleasure to eat there at a perfect time of 4 years ago!

So… I seen this place on Unilocal and passed by a few times and didn’t stop because i was worried about a place that was always dead. I finally stopped in. T he food was good but, Unfortunately, my husband my son and I got really sick after eating here. I guess I now know why it was dead:/

Lola’s has the best delicious MENUDO I’ve ever had in my life. Story with menudo: A few years back when I was under a lot stress during the whole economic fall out, my body was feeling weak and I wanted hot soup and ended up having a bowl of menudo at Tacqueria Don Miguel in Buena Park and I immediately felt revived and strong and energized. Is this what tripe is supposed to do to you? I mean, menudo is typically a hangover food, like Vietnamese phở or Korean sulungtang-I don’t know, but that’s how I discovered menudo and its healing powers. And every since then, I’ve been trying menudo here and there but none sufficed…’til I tried the menudo here at Lola’s and it was delicious! The broth was smooth and that’s key. Because at other places, menudo has a certain aftertaste and I don’t like that, and Lola’s menudo doesn’t have an aftertaste. It’s smooth. Carne Asada Burrito: I’ve had the carne asada burrito here and at Chevo’s and I like the one here better. There’s a certain«saltiness’ that seem to go well with your palate after you had a few glasses of red wine. Not the best cut of meat but it taste real good with your favorite alcoholic drink, balances it out. Chips and Salsa: They deep fry their chips here before they serve it so it’s nice and crisp, perfect for dipping. The salsa is on the milder side, lots of tomatoes, reminds me of the salsa at El Pollo Loco, orange-red but fresher taste. They do have cheap $ 1 specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which I haven’t tried it, yet. I do wish they were at a better location because it’s on the dirty seedy side and you can’t see the restaurant while driving because it’s behind another building. Thank goodness there’s a big sign that says«Lola’s.» We usually get take-out because interior is kind of gross.

Lola’s was the place I checked out on Unilocal before even moving here. Supposed to be the best restaurant in Apple Valley and i would have come here much sooner had I really checked if it was open/ It seems closed and run down in a tiny strip mall behind a gas station, finally I bothered to look and sure enough i was open. The girls working are nice, its clean, the free chips and salsa are good. I had fajitas and they were good but not all that. The man wasn’t too hungry and got 2 tacos with 3 different meats, said they all weren’t special. Prices are fair but not the best in the area. They sell freshmade tortillas $ 4 for a 10 pack so we got some to take home as well. They tasted almost sweet like cinnamon or something, totally not what I expected. Not bad in any way but did not meet my expectations at all, don’t think I’d bother to go back again.
