Stinson Carpet One Floor & Home

At first they were super friendly and everything seemed great. When the day came to install, they were 5 hours late (making me miss a whole day of work) and offered no compensation…
I would not buy or deal with them again.

When we needed new carpet we first checked the big home improvement store but decided that we should give our business to a smaller, locally owned company. I’m not so sure that was a good idea! First, when we entered the shop in Apopka it took several long minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We were about to leave when finally someone spoke to us. After we were helped things went fine. We found a carpet we liked for a great sales price. We were given a quick quote of around $ 1000 and an install time frame of about a week.
So we took the sample home, picked out color and scheduled for someone to come out a measure. Once the actual measurements were taken Stinson realized that because our one bedroom was 3″ longer than the standard carpet roll it would increase our cost to $ 1600! That’s a huge increase! We debated for a while and worked out a deal to get the carper for $ 1500 so went ahead and scheduled installation.
So the day finally come for the install (about 3 weeks after the initial 1 week projection). We had cleaned out two bedrooms FULL of stuff, disassembled furniture, etc. You don’t realize how much stuff you have until it all needs to be moved. And to make this worse it was kids rooms which means lots of little items. So my husband rearranges his schedule so we can be there at 9:15am for the install. At 10am with no call and no show he calls Stinson. Turn out at 7am that morning the install manager makes a last minute decision to swap our install for the afternoon install for their convenience. No one bothers to call or check with us first. I guess they expected us to be sitting around all day waiting for them! Well, my husband had rearranged his day and couldn’t wait around all afternoon. That meant we had to reschedule for the next day, in the meantime our house is a wreck. I mean, I couldn’t even see any counter top! My son didn’t have a bed to sleep in that night because it was in pieces throughout the house. I didn’t even have space in the kitchen to heat up my dinner that night! What a disaster!
The salesman who’d helped us apologized but never once did he offer to have the manager/​owner call us. When we’d call to speak to the manager he was always «out». When they finally did come to install the carpet they did a good job and the carpet looks great. I just would not chose Stinson again and have our lives up heaved with such disregard again!
