I have been to Fish and Chips several times in the past and the food and service is usually pretty good. However, my husband and I went 3÷17÷16 and sat outside for 10 mins and no one even came out to acknowledge us despite the fact that both servers made eye contact with us on numerous occasions. I went inside to bring this to the attention of the staff and the woman behind the bar told me that she did not know we were there(BS) and it was our fault we were ignored because that we didn’t notify her of our arrival. Needless to say, we went elsewhere for dinner and had a lovely evening in spite of our experience at Fish and Chips.,

We have been here numerous times and the food is always top quality. Yesterday my father in law had the snapper and it looked amazing, he said it was. Great food and great value for money.

Amazing food. The crab cake was top notch. By far the best crab cake I have had anywhere. I had the mixed grill for dinner. The scallops were cooked perfectly, shrimp and grilled fish were also amazing. Great seafood joint!!! Highly recommend this place. It was soo amazing I came back for a second night in a row. I ordered the whole fried snapper. Fresh, flaky, cooked to perfection. Veggies were also fresh. Fantastic restaurant! If I could give you 10 stars I would!

Have been here several times and keep coming back. The peel and eat shrimp(warm) for an appetizer are terrific. Large, tasty and very reasonable. Clam chowder is home made and also a favorite. Have never had a bad meal, go to spot for us.

I was impressed by this place. It’s cool that they have a variety of fish to choose from for the different platters. It does help if you’re already familiar with the different types of fish and their flavors. Our server’s explanation of each didn’t really help our decision much. My wife ordered the cod platter, and I ordered the shrimp. Both dishes were cooked perfectly(the breading was amazing), but the cod was severely lacking in flavor. And that’s to be expected, as cod is dense, and it’s hard to get flavor into it. My shrimp, on the other hand, were great! I don’t know if we’ll try an of the other fish, but we’re looking forward to coming back for more of the shrimp.

The seafood was incredible at the Fish & Chips. We love fresh seafood and thus was the best we’ve had. The oysters and sushi were amazing! Our waitress was very good gave great recommendations.

I love this place. The owner is really nice and is a really hard worker. I have only had the fish n chips that they are famous for but am looking forward to trying other things. Very good.

Disappointing food. Disappointing service. Way OVERPRICED. …and Apparently the owner was rude…(I didn’t know who it was at the time, I thought he was just a manager). I will never be back. From now on i will be going somewhere else.

This place is amazing! Arguably one of the best seafood houses this far inland! The fried fish and shrimp dinners are light and not greasy, thus allowing the flavor of the fish and shrimp shine! I highly recommend this small family run place! I will definitely return!

Solid seafood place. I don’t know of a better place in the area for fried seafood. We’ve been here a few times and it has been good each time. Have ordered fried shrimp, fried catfish, peel and eat shrimp, gumbo and everything was good. Nothing spectacular, but the seafood is on the fresh side and everything is cooked well. Prices are a bit high, but it’s seafood, so that’s to be expected. Overall, still looking for a good seafood place in the greater Orlando area, but this is one of the better ones.

First time visiting this restaurant. Food was great and service was excellent. Reasonably priced for the amount of food. Crab bisque was awesome. Nice selection of fresh fish to choose from. Will definitely dine there again.

Eh. This place was honestly a lot better when it was a hole in the wall in the sketchy strip mall a few blocks away. The eponymous dish was quite good back in the day, but in the new location it has mostly been soggy and gross. It has been a hot minute since I’ve been there due to the crappy quality lately, and I will probably go back because of the good times I’ve had there before(not to mention Apopka cuisine is pretty nonexistent) but I wish it would return to previous quality.

Want to be disappointed? Go to this restaurant at 6:30pm. Seated quickly and since we have been coming here for over two years, knew what we wanted and placed our order. Then,… the waiter disappeared. Full house and never came back. begged for coleslaw and watched as many patrons actually came in after us, was served and left before we got our meal. AFTER asking two times. Won’t be back and I hope you don’t have the same experience. Seems the wait staff is incapable of telling customers the kitchen is backed up.

Its has amazed me how hard it is to find good seafood in the Apopka area. I travel here a couple of times per year and am always disappointed at the selection. Until now. Fish and Chips restaurant is so much more than their name implies. The variety of fish and other seafoods makes it my go to place for future visits to the area. Today included cod perfectly fried, tender and delicious, a generous portion of lightly breaded, large shrimp, meaty crab cakes with a savory curry sauce and some hush puppies that would make the best southern fried catfish place jealous. Also great and my recommendation for everyone to try were the conch fritters, served with a mild remoulade. It appears they also do grilled and blackened fish which I will have to try on my next visit. Clams, soft shell crab, lobster also share time on the menu. Why anyone in the area would consider a chain over this place doesn’t have a seafood lover in them. I, a seafood lover will be back again, and again.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food is here. I never paid much mind to it as I walked past it almost on a daily occasion. The low key atmosphere never caught my eye. However after my husband brought home take out, I am now a super fan. My husband got the fish and chips and I got the bacon cheese burger with hush puppies. The fish was moist and perfectly cooked. My burger was perfection, with the soft warm bun and crispy bacon. The hush puppies were good but I will probably go with fries next time.

I’ve been delaying this review but now I must finish it to keep honest to my followers and to the owner of this restaurant. Before I posted this I went online and Googled«Can I use bleach to wash my foods». I found a variety of websites which I had to sift through because there was so many«crunchy granola» websites which were more alarmist than factual. What I found was a formula for washing foods with a bleach/water in order to revive and remove harmful stuff from foods. Yes. It is factual. I’ve done extensive reviews of this and through the miracle of modern chemistry this is the recommended procedure. The Parcells Oxygen Soak Formula: Add 1 teaspoon of regular unscented Clorox bleach to 1 gallon of water. Separate foods into the following groups and soak for the indicated time(make a fresh soak for each group): Leafy vegetables 5 – 10 minutes, root and heavy –fiber vegetables 10 – 15 minutes; Fruits — thin-skinned fruits(berries) 5 minutes. medium-skinned fruits(peaches, apricots) 10 – 15 minutes.; Eggs 20 – 30 minutes.; Meat/poultry/fish(per pound), thawed, 10 minutes.; frozen 15 – 20 minutes. Do not use more bleach than recommended and do not soak longer than times given. After the soak, place food in a fresh water rinse for 5 – 10 minutes. The fresh water introduces new oxygen into the food. OK. Now what did we experience. We ordered scallops this one evening. We did take out and when we got home every thing appeared to be yummy, that is until we started to eat the scallops. My wife noticed a bleach smell to the scallops and I took a good sniff. Yep! Bleach. Yuk! Whom ever did the washing of the scallops did a horrible job. OK. I hate to get political on a review but this is a serious issue to consider. Is it OK to wash your foods with bleach. The answer is YES but for the restaurant not to rinse them completely is just poor training or inconsiderate employees. Another thing to consider, if you are an owner do you do this? I mean scallops are expensive. If they started to turn you can extend their self life by using this mixture, but there must be QUALITYCONTROLS put in to place to protect your customers. PROPERTRAINING!!! You also don’t wash the item more than ONCE. If it goes bad after the first rinse you are supposed to throw the items away.

Been eating at Fish & Chips since 2007 and Ray and his crew definitely know how to consistently produce great fried seafood. Fish & Chips are always great, though the steak fries are just OK, but the fried fish always saves the day. Whole fried snapper is very good, especially if I walk with my Jamaican escovitch vinegar sauce. My wife is a fried oysters connoisseur and she claims Ray’s are the best by far. Jumbo fried shrimp are excellent. Fried green tomatoes are excellent, but the accompanying sauce is not. A nice Cajun remoulade sauce would be better. She crab bisque is excellent. Coleslaw is good but has too much of a celery taste on occasion.

I’m not a big seafood fan, but I like a well-cooked piece of fish every so often. I’ll definitely be back to the Fish & Chips. They have very good hush puppies. Their chips are decent decent. The blackened mahi was tender, not over seasoned, and a good value for the price.
