I absolutely love Wake Zone! I wish it was closer to me. I do make out of the way trips just to get a coffee. With 2 kids I love the drive thru as well! Staff is always very friendly too:)

Love coming here with my friends and even bring the kids for a treat sometimes. When they were really little, they let me order one smoothie for them and put it in multiple cups to share! They even have some games a books there. The service is always great and the owner gave gift cards for the preschool basket raffle. I really appreciated it! The bathroom is always clean too!

Absolutely delicious coffee! I will go way out of my way just to pick up their coffee… my husband is a huge fan of the frozen banana split mocha and I love the caramel kiss iced. Haven’t had a thing there I didn’t love! Oh, and hit it up on Wednesdays– regular sized frozen, iced or hot coffee drinks for only $ 2.50 between 7−9am and 2−4pm!

Reminds me of Rhino’s in Shreveport. Great service, great coffee, & loved the apple turnover. Nice to have a place where I don’t feel rushed so I can sit for awhile & work on my iPad. Will definitely be back.

Got a regular cappuccino, was burnt and extremely too hot. She over seamed for more foam most likely. Dissapointed. Service was also very unfriendly and our order seemed to not be a priority.

Wake Zone is a cute little coffee shop on a busy intersection in Apex close to 64. There is a gas station on the corner and Wake Zone is right next to it. There is also a drive-thru in the event that you don’t want to get out of your car and the team is really great at making drinks inside or at the window. Inside it feels like a Jimmy Buffet retreat with a beach theme and quotes on the walls. The coffee drinks are make with heart and the ingredients are local. The sign on the window encourages you to pay with cash if over $ 10 because of the credit card fees they incur. The café has a very local and down-to-earth feel and this is a great place to frequent if you want a break from the chain coffee shops. You can also find a coupon in the Raleigh Citypass book so I snagged two lattes for $ 3.30 to perk up my rainy day.

Just ventured into here for the first time. I got the Large Iced Wake Zone Mocha. Amazing! Way better than Starbucks or any coffee place I’ve been to. The cashier was super friendly and gave me a large smile and welcome. Some of the other employees didn’t look so thrilled to be there. The inside is Beachy and relaxing. Great music and atmosphere. Bonus that I live literally couple doors down. Prices are about the same as Starbucks. Will be returning more often!

This is my favorite coffee shop in the Apex/Cary area. I love the caramel latte and the ice coffee has great flavor. The atmosphere is beachy and fun and the baristas are always friendly and seem happy to be there! I wish this place was on my way to work so I could stop everyday

The coffee is good but the atmosphere is great. A bright and cheery place to enjoy a mental break.

First and foremost the coffee flavor is great! I like the atmosphere, very open and casual. I like the mocha latte. Good place to just relax or meet up with a group. People are friendly. Overall just a great family owned local coffee house! Check it out.

Decorated in a beachfront style, this oasis has the best pastries combined with coffees in dozens of variations. After experiencing coffee at an espresso house most other coffee disappoints. Drive-thru is active. Back room is spacious with comfy seating. Love the cinnamon rolls, scones and lattes.

It could be tricky getting there. If you went down Davis, you’ll be faced with some evasive maneuvers in order to drive into the plaza exit by Marco’s Pizza. By design, the entrance is on Old Jenks and you should stick with that if you don’t want any headaches. They’re shooting for that laid back vacation feel. Think Jimmy Buffett drinking margaritas on a Mexican beach. Tall lamps are shaped like palm trees, a Jamaican flag hangs from the ceiling, etc. I think they pull it off, and depending on who is working that day, the music can often heighten the experience. The front is where business takes place and where the drive thru is manned. In the rear is wicker furniture, the restrooms, shelved books and the exit to limited ourdoor lounging. Wake Zone supports community activities, sells local wares, and the back room can often be rented out. That’s cool, but it will also cramp my style if I show up and want to hang out there. Wifi is always in top order and the mens restroom is spacious and clean. If it’s busy, parking might grant you a 60-second hike across the lot, but I routinely find space right out front. While they do serve drip coffee, the scene is mostly espresso based drinks. For instance, should you order an iced coffee, what you’ll get is cold espresso in a plastic cup, diluted with tap water to calm it down a little. My usual there is an iced coffee and one shot of espresso because I like the hot/cold combination. Most of the time, I use the reward card offered at the front counter. Fill it with $ 25 for a free drink. The service will be businesslike or friendly and the only thing I can gripe about with these guys is their customers. I sometimes find myself put out by self-entitled clowns who feel like their phone calls or conversations have to be animated and obnoxiously loud while I’m reading or relaxing in the otherwise mellow atmosphere. It got to the point where I’m over asking for respect and just keep earplugs handy.

I absolutely love WakeZone. Their coffee is good and their staff always goes above and beyond. I don’t drink«fancy» coffee, just plain ol’ java and the staff always gets my cream to coffee ratio just right – not an easy trick! I really appreciate the fact that they have a drive thru as well. The impetus for my review is the service we received at our church today. We are located right down the street and host a LARGE vacation bible school every summer. Our director had the owner(Mark) bring coffee for the workers today. As the snack server I witnessed the set-up, etc. Everyone raved about the actual coffee but I was really impressed that Mark brought the coffee, set it up complete w/cups and sugars, cream, etc. and then came back and took the whole rig away! I would highly recommend this business for any corporate or group event.

This is one my favorite coffee places around. The place is eclectic and unique. I love their cranberry scone! They have a good collection of books. Very friendly staff. There are numerous ways to customize your beverages. Slow down and smell your coffee. This place is to be enjoyed by spending some time! And of course coffee is always good :)

Very unique, independently owned coffee shop, with a drive-thru. The place reeks of yummy coffee as soon as you walk in. Very friendly staff. Fast, free WiFi. Lots of room. There is a back room with couches and chairs and tables and people sometimes hang out and paint pictures and stuff back there. They also have some small food items. I love this place and frequent it.

I’m not a coffee drinker but their Chai Lattes are very good. This coffee shop has been nice enough to allow my group of stay-at-home-moms to meet here once a month with our pre-walkers. We reserve a section in their back room for a few hrs and so far it’s been a good experience for us and the wee ones.

We came to Wake Zone on a Sunday morning during a long weekend in the Raleigh area. We’re always interested in checking out the local coffee scene, and drove here mainly because of the Unilocal reviews. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really worth the trip. On the positive side, our bill for 2 cups of coffee, a scone, and a muffin was less than $ 10 – can’t argue with that. The ambiance is interesting. It made us feel like we were in Key West – that is if it hadn’t been 30 degrees outside. We generally skip the blended drinks and prefer just a good cup of coffee. Sadly, neither the coffee nor bakery items were any better than what you’d get at your average Starbucks. We were a little disappointed that they were only serving 1 type of coffee(not sure if they had decaf). In fact, the girl behind the counter seemed taken aback when I asked what coffees they had. She was a little less than pleasant, apparently annoyed that we were making her work. While our experience at Wake Zone wasn’t terrible, we would not go out of our way to come back.

Note to self(and also note from NC Unilocaler Ron C.): call ahead and/or check business’ open hours. Stupid me, not heeding advice. I tried Allen & Son in Chapel Hill as part of my ‘Cue Crawl while on vacay, only to find that it was closed. Wanting to get my BBQ fix, I decided to go more local and hit up Dixie Belle’s Smokehouse: also closed.(Let me give myself a little credit — I DID call this one, but the # wasn’t working. And then a whiteboard with the menu had two conflicting claims: «Opening January 4!» and««Closed for good.» I dunno how much you can trust official news when delivered in dry-erase format, so you be the judge…) Well, Wake Zone Espresso was the silver lining to this cloud. Located diagonally across from Dixie Belle’s, it appears as a drive-through coffee shop from the outside. But since I had just gotten in a workout and felt especially fit, I decided to walk across the parking lot and into the establishment, rather than make the 3 second drive. I’m glad I did. Really nice space — instantly felt relaxed. Great color choice — like a tropical blue sky — gave a very laid-back feel. Inspirational quotes painted on the wall along with others hanging above you add to this unique little coffee shop’s appeal: Starbucks, this is not. If I lived in the area, this would be my preferred spot to bring my laptop and get a little work done. Oh and btw, the coffee is good, too. ;)

Well I think the website described this joint just right«Escape to the tropics in the Jimmy Buffet inspired oasis». I was on the search for a locally owned coffee shop in Apex and read some intriguing reviews right here on Unilocal!I really liked the vibe in this place it’s bright, «beachy»(beach themed décor for sure) and has plenty of space to sit down and park for awhile or just catch up with some friends over a good cup of joe. The blenders sure were getting a workout I would say the most popular drinks to order here are their frozen specialties. I decided to try the matcha green tea latte and I was very pleased. The bakery case looked fresh and full of delicious treats I didn’t have a chance to try anything on this trip but I will be back soon.
